dr_broon
Not to mention the mad weight reduction! How heavy would you say it was roughly?
vtec2011
Good stuff! I found that removing the resonator has lost power (don't notice it that much) but maybe it's different between B and D-series engines
Dexter
How heavy would you say it was roughly? It's about 0,5kg. Good stuff! I found that removing the resonator has lost power (don't notice it that much) but maybe it's different between B and D-series engines Really? I wonder why that is. Since it's just extra weight and more travel for the air into the intake, i guess making the car quieter is the biggest reason for it's existance. But honestly i didn't notice any difference after removing it, not even in intake sound, but i can barely hear it anyways because of my ear splitting exhaust! dr_broon
I must admit I've always worried about whether it would affect performance... I don't claim to understand intake design, but I know that intake length has an effect on power.

I think the resonator box smooths the air going into the air box. For example, if you blow on the tip of a bottle, it makes a vibration (resonates) That's what the intake resonator stops. But then there are majority of cars which don't have them so... you know what, I'm going to remove mine for the fun of it
ammarbm
Doesn't everyone say removing the resonator and putting a cold feed in it's place is the better option?
