Looking forward to seeing this one!!!!!! Sounds like an epic journey!

Yes and try and get someone to help you to give the whole braking system a good bleed. I had the same problem before with a front calipper, and found that air in the system was effecting the calipper moving back after braking. I think I've got a pair of MB6 calipers in the garage (unless I gave them away with Ruby) will have a look and can give you a price if it turns out to be that.

lol think we've all done that haha! Happy new year mate!

Give our Honda Dealership John Banks a call mate, as they will sort you out with a genuine one at a good price (civic5 discount!). You should be able to see it easily mate, but would recommend downloading our free Official Honda Civic Service manual (in the downloads button at top of page) as this will show you detailed info on all parts of your civic, and the recommended parts etc. Its like the bible for these cars!

Someones been busy! she's looking sweet mate! So lets see.....................the mods I can spot are.... Lowered a bit? de-chromed headlights, dechromed grill, clear side repeaters, and full set of wind deflectors. See once the bug starts, it's hard to stop lol. Top job on getting the arches done mate and getting them sealed up nicely. Nice to see a Civic M being pampered and looked after.

G clamp is a must mate. It should go back in no bother with one of them. As Tom says, take the cap of the brake resevoir first to allow the fluid/pressur somewhere to vent. If you find it still wont go back in, as a last resort, attach a bleed tube to the calippers bleed nipple and put the other end in a container. Then loosen the bleed nipple around half a turn. Then use the clamp to wind the piston back in, it should go in really easy. Once its in, re-tighten the blled nipple and put the cap back on the resevoir. Be careful though, as 9 times out of 10 the brake will need bled after that as it may have drawn some air in. Probably best to bleed that calipper if you use this method, just to be sure. As said, its a last resort but it will deffo work.

No probs mate, glad you got it sorted.

My PB MB9 Aerodeck! Engine rebuild in progress
Dave replied to vtec2011's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Lol what a blast from the past seeing those Weller wheels! We were just talking about that on the fb page! In the 70's and 80's they were THE wheel to have! Had them on two of my cortinas, loved them! Only downside was, with no power steering, and the extra width of them wheels, low speed steering and parking was a nightmare! Lol worth it though! If you do buy a set, try and check that they aren't buckled or warped mate, as from what I remember, they can't be fixed. Would be awesome to get these on an M, kinda gives the whole banded theme a wheel with a bit of style! -

Try getting a price from our Honda dealerships that are Official Civic5 Traders mate, you'll get a discount that way. Try John Banks Honda, or Western Honda (Kinnaird, Edinburgh) and let them know you're a club member. Not too sure if Western do delivery though, but John banks deffo do

Yeah, as Grant says, the exhaust noise will be drowning out the roar you got from the butterflies opening. Any decent induction kit will return the induction roar, as this is where the actual second sound comes from, the air intake. Get some photos of your MB up when you sign up mate, we all love to see photos of members cars!

C.O.T.M December - Grant is the winner!

Sorry chaps, been busy lately, will try and get onto it tonight when I get home -
Just had a quick look myself mate, and the original how to I posted with photos etc is gone for some reason, probably lost during the switch over to the current forum platform. There is another one there though. I'd download our service manual from the downloads section mate, it gives you detailed pics on it.

mega easy to fit mate! only two bolts to remove on the thermostat housing, pull out old one and pop in the new one. I'd put a new gasket on the housing too just to be safe. And always best to drain the coolant system first to do this, so you can flush it through and fill it with nice new water/antifreeze mix. Theres a how to in the tech section mate

Yeah mate, sounds like the thermostat is opening too soon then sticking. On the move the temp gauge should only drop by a very tiny amount, probably no more than 2mm at the very most. About 1/3rd is where most of the MBS sit on the gauge. Has the thermostat/coolant been changed before? If it has, it could also mean the coolant system hasn't been properly bled. When its up to temp, check (carefully!) the top and bottom radiator hoses, both should be hot. Then drive it until the gauge drops like you describe, and quickly stop and check them both again. You'll find one or the other will be cooler, and if so points to faulty stat or airlock. Both very easy to fix though. Oh, and its possible its already had a new stat, but the new one could also be faulty. That's quite common too!
