  1. Eh? I'm still seeing it mate?? http://civic5.com/forum/page/home.html You may have to refresh the page once it loads as your browser will probably be still trying to use the previously stored cache. The pic of your car should be in the middle top of the page, with a video underneath and then Toms cotm collage below that.
  2. Is the engine management light coming on mate? I gather engine is turning over fine, just wont actually start? When it went, did it drive perfect before hand and then suddenly just die? How long before you got it started, and then how long before it went the second time? If you have the engine management light on, I'd suggest the ignitor in the dizzy has gone. Only way to repair is either a new one (£300 from Honda) or a replacement used dizzy. DON'T buy an ignitor other than a genuine Honda one, as I found out the hard way! Pattern ones may be cheaper, but they last a week if your lucky, then you have forked out £125 for nothing! lol I had to get the genuine Honda one after two failed after market ones, so all in a costly repair! If it is that thats wrong, then best bet is probably to see our trade breakers for a replacement one or a replacement dizzy Hopefully, it isnt that thats gone!
  3. Car of the year now added to our home page. Click on the "our pages" button in the main menu and select "Home page" I'm going to create an actual dedicated page for all our car of the year winners too.
  4. Banner now redone, grants car added and made the photos standard brightness to make em stand out better. Thats one job done! Off I go to do more!
  5. Sorry Grant, have had a lot on lately and not had time to get it done yet mate. Will deffo get on to it asap. We're also having problems with new members not being able to activate their accounts, which we're also trying to sort out. Things are a right royal pain at the moment!

    Fuel prices!

Lol now I feel old! I can remember as a kid sitting in the back of my dads mk1 escort at the petrol station, and 4 star was 37p a gallon! And there was the choice of 2 star, 3 star, 4 star and 5 star! Damn them were the days! Used to go out with mates in their car or mine as a teenager, and the passenger would kindly donate a fiver for our evenings cruise fuel! Used to get almost half a tank for that! Would love it to drop below a quid a litre again, or for it to go back to gallons!
  7. The ignition switch is on the rear of the ignition barrel, where you put the key in mate. Also, another thing to check is the battery terminals, make sure they're tight. I've seen loose connection at the battery cause similar problems, and its easy to check, and if its that, a really cheap fix!
  8. Only cut off switch they have is fuel cut off switch mate. It sounds more likely the ignition switch is on its way out.

    mc2 not warming up

Meant to add turn the heater fan on full speed, and in the hot position whilst doing this procedure!

You will loose a bit of coolant mate, which can make a bit of a mess in the engine bay. Try and put a lot of rags around and under the housing to soak up most of it before starting the job. Once you take the housing off, the thermostat will be easy to see and remove. Just a case of popping the new one in. You will have to bleed the coolant system after its all back together. There should be a how to guide for this, but if not let me know. Some mb's can be a bitch to bleed the system, some seem to be no bother! Mine was naturally a bitch to bleed! Lol the trick is to remove the radiator cap, then to start the engine, and let it idle whilst you slowly compress the lower hose with your hand. You'll see the fluid level rise in the radiator. You want to press the hose enough to get the level to the tip of the radiator filler, but not overflowing it. You should see bubbles escaping as you do this.DO NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE TO GET UP TO TEMP!. You keep pressing and releasing the bottom hose for about 3 to 5 mins, then turn the engine off and allow to cool down. Then repeat this process again and again till you see no more air bubbles coming out the filler neck. Remember to keep turning the engine off to avoid it getting hot. Its harder to bleed when its hot. Then do the same procedure on the top radiator hose. Once no more bubbles are seen when pressing that hose, go back to the bottom hose again and repeat. You may need to do the process quite a few times, alternating between top and bottom hoses. Its a simple but time consuming job. There were other wee tips in the how to, to help speed things up a bit, but its deffo worth doing this proceedure well as it will ensure the coolant system is operating fully and properly
  11. That's a strange one mate! First thing to do is open the bonnet, and next to the brake servo you'll see a smaller reservoir for the clutch fluid. Is that up to the full mark? Sounds like it may be low on clutch fluid. Do you still feel the same pressure when pushing the clutch pedal, and can you still engage all gears?
  12. I remember seeing this now on the FB group, the headlining looks amazing, and wasnt sure about the matt black but with the green bonnet, I actually like this! Deffo different, which is the best thing about these civics. Its easy to make em individual, and end up with one cool looking car. Engine swap is a good one too mate, B16 is different in the MB!
  13. Looking good mate! Love the decks in this colour! What does the exhaust sound like?
  14. Looking forward to seeing this one!!!!!! Sounds like an epic journey!
  15. Yes and try and get someone to help you to give the whole braking system a good bleed. I had the same problem before with a front calipper, and found that air in the system was effecting the calipper moving back after braking. I think I've got a pair of MB6 calipers in the garage (unless I gave them away with Ruby) will have a look and can give you a price if it turns out to be that.
  16. lol think we've all done that haha! Happy new year mate!
  17. Give our Honda Dealership John Banks a call mate, as they will sort you out with a genuine one at a good price (civic5 discount!). You should be able to see it easily mate, but would recommend downloading our free Official Honda Civic Service manual (in the downloads button at top of page) as this will show you detailed info on all parts of your civic, and the recommended parts etc. Its like the bible for these cars!
  18. Someones been busy! she's looking sweet mate! So lets see.....................the mods I can spot are.... Lowered a bit? de-chromed headlights, dechromed grill, clear side repeaters, and full set of wind deflectors. See once the bug starts, it's hard to stop lol. Top job on getting the arches done mate and getting them sealed up nicely. Nice to see a Civic M being pampered and looked after.
  19. G clamp is a must mate. It should go back in no bother with one of them. As Tom says, take the cap of the brake resevoir first to allow the fluid/pressur somewhere to vent. If you find it still wont go back in, as a last resort, attach a bleed tube to the calippers bleed nipple and put the other end in a container. Then loosen the bleed nipple around half a turn. Then use the clamp to wind the piston back in, it should go in really easy. Once its in, re-tighten the blled nipple and put the cap back on the resevoir. Be careful though, as 9 times out of 10 the brake will need bled after that as it may have drawn some air in. Probably best to bleed that calipper if you use this method, just to be sure. As said, its a last resort but it will deffo work.
  20. Big congrats Alex mate, well deserved win! I'll get your prizes sent off to you asap mate, along with our "Civic5 Car of the Year Certificate"
  21. No probs mate, glad you got it sorted.
  22. Lol what a blast from the past seeing those Weller wheels! We were just talking about that on the fb page! In the 70's and 80's they were THE wheel to have! Had them on two of my cortinas, loved them! Only downside was, with no power steering, and the extra width of them wheels, low speed steering and parking was a nightmare! Lol worth it though! If you do buy a set, try and check that they aren't buckled or warped mate, as from what I remember, they can't be fixed. Would be awesome to get these on an M, kinda gives the whole banded theme a wheel with a bit of style!
  23. Got all your address details in the forum database mate from when you bought your membership. Got lots of things to post on Monday so will deffo be sent Monday at the latest
  24. Thats different to the one I was on! Can do a lot more on that by the look of it! I'm off to investigate it! lol PS: Look! John Posted a link!! LOL You're getting the hang of all this hi-tech stuff eh! lol
