  1. Yes most of the 1.4s use the same parts mate. The engine code is stamped on the engine block though, which will give you the exact one your car has.
  2. Update time! After selling Ruby, and getting Roxy, the one thing I missed was the sound Ruby made!! No point having Vtec if ya can't hear that sweet noise it makes! So after much searching to find out what would be best for the TypeR induction wise, I settled on the HKS RSK reloaded kit. Big difference in price compared to what Rubys induction kit cost!! lol Didnt fancy coughing up £340 odd quid for one brand new, so went in search of one second hand. These go in seconds when they come up on civinfo.co.uk, and missed 4 of them by a matter of hours! One I missed by actual minutes! They sell so fast! Then I got a pm off a member in Edinburgh, asking if I was still after one. It was only around 8 months old, and had done little mileage, but even so, he fitted a brand new filter to it. It even came in the original box with the whole fitting kit and instructions, which is what a lot of members over there seem to be looking for. So I was over there like a shot and bought it! Hoping to get this fitted this weekend, inbetween work. Oh, and checked with insurance just to be doubly safe, and they said it wasnt a problem, not even any increase in price or owt! So mega happy with that! Looking forward to hearing Roxy shout! PS: Krzys, I blame you for this!!! After hearing your EP3 when you were up here last week, I just had to get Roxy sorted with an induction kit! lol
  3. Very true............can see someone else going for a visit to the naughty room very soon
  4. Looking superb mate. All the wee details add up to make her look amazing. And those wheels!!!!!!!!!! Did you need any arch wor/camber to get them on there? Always loved those BBs rims. Really suite her well!
  5. Nice build mate, and well done on beating the competition! Those ecsta tyres, be really carefull with them mate. My TypeR hd a brand new set of those fitted when I bought it, and I changed them within a week! They are terrible in the wet, car was like driving on ice! I decided to bin the tyres before I binned the car! lol
  6. Deffo the stalk. Not a common fault, but has been seen before. Easy enough to replace though
  7. Mega trip dude! was great to see ya, and to see your latest Honda! She's a beauty, deffo struck lucky finding that one mate. And thanks for the wee spin in it, and for letting me drive it! Feels a lot different to the FN2, can't believe how low you sit in it! Drives really sweet, and deffo more comfy over the bumps! Couldnt believe you were only up for the day and driving back home that night!! maaaaaad! Oh, and that delay on the city bypass is a daily thing mate. Even without an accident, its always nose to tail and a pain! Them wee back roads you took looked fun haha! Nice to see her all cleaned again too!
  8. Just getting ready to watch the first race! Happy days are here again!!!!!!!

    Signature help

Yeah, bit of a problem with the sigs! Some were done before we had to put the sig size restriction in place, so have slipped through. I think there's a setting for resetting all sigs, but would mean folks having to add their sigs again. I'll look into this once the forums current probs are sorted mate. If you need any help with creating a sig, let me know. Can knock one together for you quickly
  10. If I still had Ruby she'd be having them! Centres would be sprayed either gun metal or white though. Reckon they would fit without any arch work/camber/tyre stretch? Nice wheel, and being steel, heavy but sturdy as fook! Just the thing for our pot hole filled roads up here!
  11. Thats bad that the seller "forgot you", kinda makes you wonder if they have they items they are selling. On another note, I'll get the pics of that front lip for you soon Mae, I'm ill just now so now been able to get it done.
  12. Yeah, with maybe 6 months mot I'd reckon no more than £400, by the time you get a new cat/o2 sensor and the pads all round (excluding a caliper) you'll be looking at around £600, which will be about top money for the miles it has. Just my opinion tho!
  13. Can't wait to hear and see this!! bet its going to sound epic mate!
  14. Lookin good mate! The rear lip really changes the look of the mb's. But lowering it really does will make the best of the rear lip, makes the car look wider and oh so cool
  15. OK, thought seeing as the weather is crap, I'd just upload a wee photo of Roxy a-la photyshoppy! Lol my skills are getting better! Lol

    Cops

Yeah, I think in general, the police are actually pretty fair. I always watch shows like road wars, traffic cops etc and love it when they catch these uninsured drivers. Most of them turn out to have no mot, no tax, and more often than not, no bloody licence......or are drunk! So glad the cops are out there catching these gits, cos if one of them crashes into your pride and joy, you're stuffed. On a plus point for the club, unlike a few clubs I could mention, we have never had any of our meets moved on by the police. As said above, I think they tend to regard us as mature Honda enthusiasts instead of the boy racer brigade, so tend to leave us alone. Which is nice
  17. lol yours popping isnt too bad Ali, this Scooby was like bloody shotguns going off, just way over the top. Yeah, have to say it was close to Roxy getting sold, just lost a lot of love for her during all the problems. Like I said earlier, she was actually a real chore to drive at times, which no car should be. Now she's better than she's ever been and I'm getting the love back! You wouldn't believe some of the possible replacements I'd looked at!! Main contenders were an Audi A3 (would have had to be either an S-Line or S3), a newish Merc C class (would have been the blue efficency model, which had great MPG and performance to match the TypeS I had) and lastly..............................a classic VW Beetle!! Gayle used to have one years ago, and totally loves them. And one we looked at was the spitting image of one my Big Sister had back in the 70's, when the car was only 5 years old! I was 5 at the time, but can still remember it. The one we were looking at was a 1973, in baby blue. Fully restored and looked mint, the only mod being a nice set of alloys. Was only 5 grand, and I was really tempted to get it! But not sure it would have been great as a daily, and do like the creature comforts in the FN2. Plus Gayle really loves Roxy, and after we were ooohing and ahhhing over the beetle, she said "you aint selling Roxy"! Kid you not, Gayle loves Roxy more than I do! lol

    Cops

Totally agree. If they catch you fair and square, there is no point in trying to make excuses. I got caught in Ruby, at night, as I was late for work. The speed they clocked me at after they caught up was not even close to what I had been doing when I passed them, so just held my hands up. I find if you're honest with the police, they tend to be ok with you, even have a laugh with you. Good shout that they let you off mate, only wish the police up here used their discretion a bit more. See it all the time on road wars etc, where they let people go. They have never done that up here with anyone I know, myself included. If you're caught, you're done! But as said, it's a fair cop, because if you break the law, you have to accept the punishment if you get caught.
  19. Not really hunting @DAVEMB2, the idle when first started from cold is around 1800rpm, but drops off pretty quickly. I think the actual "fly by wire" throttle combined with the stiff suspension and crap roads exagirates the problem, as your foot can bounce about on the throttle. Any slight dab or back-off of the throttle makes her quite jerky. But deffo think that there's something wrong with the way these drive when first started. Even more so when its very cold outside. But on saying that, she has improved massively, as it really was bad before. She's still got that problem, but its only slight now. But the difference in her power is whats amazed me! had a real play with a scooby tonight and she was with it all the way until...................she passed it!!!! lol Deffo got her mojo back, and Mr scooby looked impressed methinks! Have to say though, why the fcuk do people think that its cool for your car to backfire?? He went up our high street popping and banging, and the only thought that came to my mind was "what a tit!"They seem to think if it backfires, it means its fast as fcuk and tuned to the max. Bollocks! It means its overfuelling and the exhaust bore is too big!! Could be thats why Roxy passed it? He was deffo giving it beans! Maybe just me, as I'm just not a fan of the backfiring car scene. I hear a car backfire and I think "yeah, that sounds fcuked!" lol
  20. See I suspected the TPS. Might look a bit more into it at some point, and yeah have heard the lambda sensors fail.
  21. Yes mate, the mechanic (Martin) at Western who carried out the warranty work is actually a mate from years ago, so know him well. Know it will have been done right if he did it. He's also got an FN2 and used to have a DC2 before that (and a Civic MB2 before that!)
  22. Roxy back all sorted, so DD now all washed, dried and back tucked up safely in her blanket in the garage! She is deffo not seeing salty roads again!!!
  23. lol no wonder I miss Ruby! well, the news is good. Finally got her back on Monday, and she is driving a hella lot better! The gear changes are now sweet, no more crunching! The kangaroo effect however is still present, but massively reduced. It's almost gone, just does it ever so slightly so guess I can live with that. When Jim and me went to pick her up, on the way back I was going up the slip road onto the main A1, and sitting in third. Spotted a gap in the traffic so floored it to pull out, and she spun the wheels up! After driving her for a bit, noticed she feels a lot quicker! Thinking she may have lost a wee bit power because of the coil pack/plugs, and has now got it back? Deffo feels a bit punchier to drive now. Jim drover her too and said the same, feels a lot better to drive. We went through this wee village, and theres a round about at the end of it. Came through at 30mph, then onto the roundabout (Jim driving) and went round in 6th gear 17mph!, And coming off the roundabout, still in 6th, still 17mph, she pulled away with no shudders, no bother at all! Really impressed she could do that, as most diesels would struggle to even do that! Not that I would drive her like that a lot, but is good for overtaking point of view........no need to change down. Just push the throttle down and away she goes. And hats off to Western Honda.................they even gave her a full valet in and out, all hoovered out and tyres dressed etc, so she looked amazing. So, thoughts about getting rid of her are now gone! Fingers crossed thats the last of her faults and she goes on trouble free now. And DD.....................all washed, dried and back in the garage in her blanket now! She's deffo not seeing the salty roads again!
