@dr_broon Those Civic finishers/sill step trims looks lush don't they! Dawn got them for DD years ago from the chap that had the red supercharged MB6 that he had owned since brand new (can't mind his name of the top of my head though, god old age sucks!). Just looks so nice when you open the door. Did you get the full set of four?

lol I was the same with the first set I bought for Ruby, they were Team Hekko's. The fit was awful, so I binned them and bought 2 sets of the Climairs. More expensive, but the quality and fit is miles better. These have never moved since I fitted them all those years ago, never had any issues at all.

Hi There! Aftermarket bumpers were available for these during the 90's early noughties, but not sure what (if any) are available now. Most likely they would be available in Germany I think, deffo not available inn the UK now. Options would be the OEM VTi front spolier/lip or the VTiS front spolier/lip, both of which are available 2nd hand. Door handles wise, is it the handles inside or outside the car that are coming out? Wheels wise, there have been a few members who have gone up to 17 inch, but think this is about the biggest you could go without modifying other areas. The wheel offest will also play a big part in what fits, along with the width of the rim (7J, 7.5J, 8J, etc)

Hmm, tricky one to solve. Ah, I kinda get it now about the stalks. See I was brought up on old fords etc and allmy cars had the indicators on the left, so always assumed that on the left was the correct way. Drove Gayles Kia Rio and the stalks are the other way around (indicators on the right) so always confused the crap out of me every time I drove! lol Was the same on a Mazda 323F I drove. But now you explain it, it makes absolute sense! Ours should have been on the right for UK cars, would make so much more sense!

What was benefits of the jdm stalk swap again mate? Did it give you variable wipe on the wipers or something? The wee wiring gremlins will all get sorted as you go along, process of elimination when sorting them out!

Those look amazing mate, really nice job you've done there. Looks like it came from the factory with those, and totally updates the look of the car. Liking those a lot!
-
Mate if you need a dimmer switch I should have plenty of those in the garage. You want me to send one down to you, so you can put the wiring back to normal? Saves trying to work out why its doing that with the rear foglights? If its the headlight washer switch, think I've got those in stock too.

Not personally drove one with this upgrade, but going on what I know about engines I'd say yes it will run, how well......that's the unknown. For those two mods done, I'd be getting it mapped mate. Yes it may seem like an additional cost when you'll be getting it mapped further down the line, but if it's not set up right then it could cause damage to other parts of the engine. It's pointless fitting these new parts if you're not getting the engine tuned to them as you'll not enjoy the benefit of the upgrade without tuning it. If you know you'll deffo be doing the other mods, I'd hold off until you have all the parts you want to fit, then fit them all in one go and then get her mapped once.

Looking tip top mate, nice to see the sun shining for a change eh! Looks in lovely condition.

Going to update our Civic M buyers guide....need your thoughts and input

Good shout Jake, especially that seam under the drivers/passengers footwells. With the signs of body seam sealer now showing to be breaking down, those two areas will deffo be showing up a lot from here on it I think. -
Ah, that link is before we upgraded to the new forum software. I've found it though!! How to Install front fog lights using separate switch. - D.I.Y Guides - Civic5 Honda Civic MA/MB/MC owners club

One word.............Mint!

Unfortunately no they don't fit our civics mate. The round ones on accords can be made to fit our civics, and aftermarket wise I think Ring do a set that fits in well. Are you replacing whats there or has your civic never had them fitted when new?
-
hahaha, deffo would have been right in there. Miss those two from the forum, although still see Krzys now and again on FB.
-
Can you not get a similar sized socket on them and bash the collars out mate?
-
That looks stunning on those rims. Colour and style go really well with the colour of the car mate. Good choice!

Yes, engine wise both D series and B series still appear to be pretty bomb proof as long as they've been serviced regulary. -
So, today got DD's second leak into the cabin fixed (I hope!). This time, headlining in top right corner of windscreen. Wasn't the ususal spots (windscreen bonding/blocked sunroof drains), so investigated further! Removed the roof rail on drivers side, and found the channel blocked with crap. The factory seam sealer had gave way a tiny bit where the front roof rail mount goes, so after cleaning all the crap out got the joint sealed up and rail refitted nice and tight. Hopefully this will solve the issue. In other news, bought a DAB external ariel wich I'm going to replace the roof mounted oem one with. Will report back with photos when done.

Hi guys. Been thinking lately that although our buyers guide is good, it might be kinda out of date now. The faults listed in it are still relevant, but as time goes on there are newer faults and problems arising with our Civics. Not surprising as the oldest Civic M's are now 26 years old! I did some work on DD today, had yet another leak into the interior when raining. The usual place, headlining at the top right corner of windscreen was wet. In the past, this has usually pointed to blocked sunroof drains, or the bonding around the windscreen had broken down/deterioated. Thanks to Alex (Chandler) excellent guide on removing the roof rails, and Simon (Dr Broon) mentioning earlier this week about seam sealer breaking down and letting water into the rear of his Aerodeck, I thought I'd investigate this on DD. I Removed the roof rails, and there was years of dirt/gunk under the roof rail mounts and also under the plastic roof drains. I cleaned all this out, then examined the area. Sure enough, a tiny little bit of seam sealer around where the front roof rail mounts to the car had gone. Tiny tiny bit, but seems enough to let water in. I've now sealed it all up and dried out the roof lining so will report back if this has resolved it. So this brings me to the guide. I think we could add in what members are now finding are failing on these Civics. We can add them to the list of what to check, but also create a list of preventative maintenance we can now do (like removing the roof rails on Aerodecks to check (still applies to hatchbacks too as they still have seam sealer under the plastic roof gutter drains.) and clean out/seal as necessary. There are other things to add too, like the small design flaw in the scuttle area which if blocked up nwith dirt crap, can allow water to go straight into the heater. I'll make this a sticky, so if you have any things you've had to do to your civic that isn't in the current buyers guide, list it in this topic. We've had 2 or 3 Civics/Aerodecks that have recently undergone full restorations, so if you want to list new areas of concerns for rust or anything else would be mucho appreciated. There aren't any other sites out there that have as much info on these cars, so lets keep the list updating as we go along. New things to add to list: Rust - a real common place is now under the drivers/passenger footwells on the seam. Rust - Lower sills which are covered by the sill protectors, and the outer/side which the covers clip into. Usually possible to get fingers underneath and round the covers to check. Also the wheel arches up from the sills of course! Sticky handbrakes. All bushes will all be really showing there age ARB drop links Bonding around windscreen (if original windscreen still fitted) can be breaking down causing leaks around top and bottom of screen The heater core. Check Passengers/Drivers footwell and remove the sill to check if its wet on the underside of the carpet. The heater core in this cars tend to fail and if the puncture is small you only notice if the carpet is lifted and see if it looks wet. Tell tail it's the heater core is the water will coolant so will have antifreeze colour/smell to it.

Basically, we don't mate! Most of the parts you see that aren't OEM on ours we've either made ourselves (such as projector headlights, black typeR style headlights etc) or adapted parts from other Hondas/other cars. There are mechanical things available as the Civic M's share parts across the Honda range. Aftermarket suspension can be had from the likes of MeisterR, Koni etc for our civics.
