Hey. Anyone got an idea what's gone amiss before I start pulling stuff out or hitting my stereo with a lump hammer. Since changing my gearbox. Which involved disconnecting battery. My kenwood head unit can't keep some settings. Presets are there and it keeps eq settings. It even has aux in enabled which is off by default. But the display settings and key colour settings reset every time the car is started. Anyone had a similar issue???

If anyone's at japfest2 needs a hand with with stuff like this gimme a shout I can bring few bits of kit etc.

Replacement engine would be easier surely. I see people selling d14 from ej9 for like 100 quid after b swap or whatever. I sold my d16z6 for 150. Was a lovely little engine. Spot on.

Hmmmm weird one. I doubt you'd notice any difference but not necessarily the point. You want the right part for your car -
Man that's not cool about ya mirror. But like the jazz wheels!
-
Cheers mate. Still none the wiser really. But oh well in happy anyway

5th gear is different tho. I remember vtec came on at 4.5k at 85mph on s9b. I'm at 4.5k at 80mph on this box. Just 3rd and 4th are long. God knows what box it is

Sounds like a good plan Dave. Yep the m is a winner for sure. Not sure what's more all out mental tho your m. Or you for putting an k26 in there. What the heck! When we meet will defo be needing a ride non that thing.

Won't be til later in year mate. Someone might not want to pay what I want for the car anyway. I'm not letting it go for peanuts. But yeah course I love this site and I live civic m's. Still my favourite. Never quite loved the eg like I loved my mb.

Hmmm well i got the opportunity to go for a run last night. The gearbox works fine so all is good there. But there is something peculiar about it. I bought it as an s4c but there was no sticker. But acceleration seems less brutal than I'm used to. And 4th gear tops out at over 120mph. On my previous s4c 4th would top out at 110mph. 5th gear seems normal. 3900rpm at 70mph. Weird but it will do for now, just don't know what box it is. Least it works. Brake pads are also very different I would say. Much more progressive I suppose, they don't Instantly grab like the mintex.. but they do start biting much harder with more pressure on the pedal. Whereas the mintex seemed to just be on or off. So seem ok. Will update when had a chance to bed in nicely

Is it a b18c1? If so Mb6 map would be Fine. I was under the impression the gsr engine is identical to a C4. Just slightly more aggressive fueling from the p72. But after talking to dynodaze rich ages ago. He said they make virtually identical top end power.

Yes that guy was a prize twat. Think he warmed up on forza!
-
Hmm does sound good! Hot hot hot!

Yes its a bit of a mare round here for sure!!! But anyway enough of the getting rid talk I'm welling up! Thinking positive want to enjoy the car this summer. Hoping for some track action. Woop.
-
Yeah I've looked into it. There's no garages in my area so would have to be away from house. In which case I would need a secure facility which makes the price mega.
-
Wouldn't be moving on really. I love the car. It was great when I could use my mum's garage. car stayed fresh and clean. Potentially was gonna only tax and insure it for the summer. Now it sits outside getting g rained on and filthy. Doesn't get driven a lot yet I have to tax and insure it all year round. Just seems a waste. If I had a garage I would strip it properly and just use it in summer for track days and stuff. So its just not practical really is all. So want to enjoy the shows this year and then if I can let go I will. Some reprobate would love nailing round in it for sure, it's fun
-
Not sure what I'll do carbon synchros are stoopid money think it's over kill for my little power car. Besides being realistic the car will likely have 'for sale' signs at jae. Not sure I want to sustain it for another year. If I had a garage I would. But I don't so it's a pain in the arse.

Well to be fair the b series ain't bad to work on. Box change was a doddle. Just insanely heavy to lift in. Cars only 12 in off the floor or whatever
-
Don't be daft. I'm skint. Box cost 75 quid +postage. So far so good tho. Altho I am going to rebuild the old box myself. Just for experience if nothing else.

Not a bad idea mate.. Our nissan has rear drums and the rear alloys stay spotless!!!
