Ermmm. It's top endy as it is.1-3k sluggish. 3-5.5k feels Torquey picks up well in any gear. 5.5-8.5k obviously starts to go well high up in the revs. I keep reminding myself it's a n/a 1.8 And that considered it's good. Tuner also told me he could make it better at low revs with adjustable cam gears but then would loose top end. Always a compromise.

Could be worse tho dude. Not great and an inconvenience for ya.. sure that money would could cover the repair the check and probably get the wheels painted up like you mentioned earlier on

No i didnt. That material will self seal nicely i know it doesnt seam like it will. Studs could do with being longer. So far I've had no issues. Touch wood. Apart from high idle speed. Might be a small leak or I've just put it down to iacv compensation on the map. Drives well so never looked any further. Hmmm we'll sort something.. Few weekend bits to accommodate. Japfest. Wedding anniversary mainly. But defo we can squeeze it in. I live couple of miles from the m1/m69 junction.

Yeah that's what i did he was sound about it no extra charge. Think he should stop sending enlarged oem gasket. Yeah man. When ya thinking?

What's the crack with beemers?? I was pootling about earlier.. an e90 m3 taunted me shot past me as come on dual carriageway. So I gave it some beans as road was clear. Cut a long story short. Flew round roundabout and chased him up the slip road upto a very very high speed. It didn't pull away at all. Kept right with him. Was gob smacked. So that's two high power beemer I've kept up with near the limiter in 5th.. A 650i and now an m3. I expect them to be much quicker.. or can these people not drive in a straight line???

Well I'm sure he will still have my stencil. I advised him to keep it. My custom gasket is based on the skunk gasket so see if still has it.. Just ask for it 66mm

Fair play man. No point t being the richest man in the graveyard enjoy that cash! So many goodies there. Looks amazing!!! Out of interest have you had a look at the trung thermal gasket for throttle body?? It wasn't right for my aftermarket tb.. Curious if it's right for the skunk. He made me a custom one in the end

Well I did buy a spare when first got the car.. supposedly rust free. Well that was dented and more rusty as hell. But that's the one I tarted up and using temporary. .

Was barely noticeable mate. But I had noticed it.. I originally wanted to repaint boot because slight blister In paint. Looked for a non rusty replacement.. Errrrm yeah mine is a good one for sure. Seems they all have issues. Least my arches are solid!

Right so started sorting the other tailgate. It's solid inside just bubbling up out side.. Please look away if squeamish.. I hate rust. Once I started hacking away at it. It's on the seams. One area above plate. Two below and in the plate light area. Shame it's the only rust on the car full stop so can't let it bring her down. Good few hours of gouging sanding dremeling and filling with some more sanding. I'm happy. And the rust is gone! Ground out and treated and patched up. The inside will now get sealed aswell incase any moisture were to get in. To...

But might not have.. daaaaahhhh the confusion!

I mean. I raised all the suspension upto it's normal position then did the bolts. So the bushes arnt twisted.

Hardrace stuff is top of the range ain't it. I was toying with them.. but price was a big factor for me so bought d2. So far so good. Bushes are spot on still altho I did fit them properly. Zeroed and all that.
-
Loadsa these about mate. From what I've read over the years the bushes fail prematurely rather than the arm. You used to be able to tell the fakes by how many lines were in center of bushes around the metal tube.

This is coming together hey. Nothing sounds simple tho

Got me temp boot on now, not a huge fan of it but least it's tidy while I work on the other.. refurb commences on the original. It's actually pretty rusty which was justvstarting to show under the paint. which is a shame. Obviously that wont do!!!! Gonna take some work but I will get it rust free and able to last another 20 years without coming back.
