Hi guys, this is my 1.5i LE MB3 Civic, I purchased it back in June of 2021 and recently passed my test a couple weeks back, the car is wonderful and the spec is great. Does anybody have any information about the LE package? Seems to be the same as the LS just that they were only produced in '98. If anyone has any information about this spec it would be greatly appreciated :)

This appeared on ebay recently. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394417810525 It has a W prefix plate, but according to the MOT check site was registered 26th January 2001. The listing doesn't mention it being a personal plate. As far as I can tell, it should be on an X prefix plate if it was first registered on that date. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?registration=w215xae

Was reading my Classic Car Weekly and one of the readers had put their car forward for the "value my car" section where they get an idea what their car is worth according to the experts. There was a 98 Rover sterling with around 60K on the clock and most of its history. They recon the value is around 3.5 to 4K and advised to get an agreed value policy on it. Same year (almost) as DD and know quite a few of our Civic M's are either 1999 or older so got me wondering if anyone here has ventured into the agreed value route yet with their Civic. I'm thinking of asking them for a value on DD just out of curiosity, as know the tossers at WeBuyAnyCar dot con (where most insurance companies base their values on now) value her at around £250! Which would maybe buy the alloys and bugger all else! Just with them getting pretty rare now, thinking surely the values (that they are actually worth) have gone up now? Don't want to get caught out if the worst happens so deffo thinking about the agreed value policy. Anyone got one on theirs and if so what value did you get agreed?

Don't know what's happening to me but I'm quickly changing teams and have a new love for Toyota. Hilux surf joined the family last year and now have recently got an Alphard as a daily. I absolutely love it. However seems to have mixed opinions amongst my friends, obviously some of them don't get the JDM life. Gonna be a small project this one. Fixing niggles. And some maintenance. Few upgrades and some nice wheels at some point soon. Start with some pics of the beast.

Sorry I’ve been missing in action, just been so busy I knew the FR was going to cost me money to pass the MOT. I can’t complain 210,000 miles but was looking untidy. David kept on at me to get a Jazz. My response “there for old folk” well fast forward a few weeks and hey presto meet my 66 plate 1.3 Jazz EX Navi. I absolutely love it. Can get 3 kids in the back (not mine) and the seat system is brilliant how it folds. No mods yet! Got wind deflectors to go on, waiting on tailored mats and then need to sort the wheels as 1 is badly scuffed. Not sure on whether to have them refurbed or save up for black ones.

I had a look at MBs on Auto Trader earlier today as I often do. There are currently only three advertised on there for sale in the entire UK. That was using the search criteria "Honda Civic, Years 1995 to 2000". With how many were around a few years ago, this suggests they are rapidly disappearing. I don't think I see as many on the road around London now as I did even 2 or 3 years ago.

Wondering anyone have any tips to why my boot wont close its not the latch or receiver. I got new ones and connect but when i screw the latch receiver down and close the boot it just wont close, but i do notice the latch receiver wont stay in place it falls down. Also when i close the boot feel like it shifts from left to right which makes me think its the boot supports but the seem fine. And ideas would be great. Thank you. Its the only thing thats wrong with my mb6

Hi guys, so I still have the deck but it’s sitting on the drive looking sorry for itself right now. I decided that I wanted something a bit more tame as the wife is pregnant with our second, and I do some food delivering for my friends take away on a Friday and Saturday evening so I wanted something better on fuel... I ended up ignoring most of what I “needed” and bought myself a 1 Series Coupé it is a 118d though so it is a lot better on fuel I suppose, and tax was £30 for the year so that’s a win too. Not sure how popular this forum is now but I’ll go ahead and post up my progress with is as it goes. Ive started to find a few niggly problems with it the more I drive it and have it in my workshop but I suppose it is 12 years old lol. It’s got problems on the rear wheels with cracks forming, I had one repaired but a few have developed on the other side so I’m not going to keep chucking money at repairing the cracks I’m going to buy new wheels. I have managed to get round to smoking the rear lights already though, and put on blacked out side repeaters so they look pretty cool Anyway here’s some photos and I’ll keep posting as and when I do stuff... will be more subtle than the Deck.

Interesting if this became a mainstream thing... Carbon neutral fuel with a power boost for a minimal cost. (assumes using hydrogen produced using renewable energy though). https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology/under-skin-carbon-neutral-fuel-also-cleans-air

Hi ya'll this is my "new" MB2 Civic. Just bought it two days ago, and it only got about 90.000 kilometres on it. It's still very stock aside from electric windows (that I wanna replace with Ganador mirrors). My first objective is to get new wheels/rims, like atleast 15 inch, and find the MB2 OEM spoiler (if that even exists), and if not find something else that would fit without looking too ''off''. Then I'm planning to get a shortshifter, perhaps some body work too like a lip kit (but don't know what will fit for sure... maybe anyone can help?). And as soon as it's looking clean, I want to perhaps replace d14 heads with d16 heads (maybe even turbo it afterwards), coilovers, and as last maybe wrap it or something. Cheers!

Was browsing the web and stumbled across this site. Know our Civic Aerodecks are getting harder to find for sale in the UK, but in other parts of Europe it seems they are still plenty for sale (and the prices are surprising considering the mileages!) Hi all, Not sure if anyones seen this - Saw it on a Speedhunters story and thought it looked awesome. Apparently this was built back in May so people may have seen it already! So, been a bit down lately due to pressures/hassles at work and been a grumpy old git to say the least. Gayle reckoned what i needed was another project! I've wanted a MK1 MX5 since the day they were launched (was at the car show in Glasgow SECC when they unveiled it) and when the cover came off and I saw this sweet little red sports car I fell in love! Said there and then I have to have one of these one day, but I was a teenager back then with empty pockets! Roll on 29 years later and now I'm older (still with empty pockets, least i am after buying her!) and finally I've got one!! Always wanted a mk1, but did put deposit down on a mk2 in a garage around 7 years ago. Sadly my then wife (Dawn) became seriously ill so we cancelled going down to test it/buy it and just forgot about getting an MX5. Lost Dawn to cancer 3 years later Original plan was to buy one that needed a full restoration, but as i don't possess any welding skills that plan changed. After a lot of good advice from members in here, we upped our budget and went to view a few more cars. Most were bodged repairs and nothing like described, until we found this one in Stirling, Scotland. She's red (obviously), 1.6 UK car with 90K on the clock. 10 months MOT. There isn't a service history book, but all the old mots are there and receipts for various work done. The chap selling her didn't want to let her go, but was under instruction from his wife to buy a more family friendly classic car! She has had the rear sills done before, drivers side is a tidy enough job and solid (just the black paint that's not right), passenger side is still solid but repair is showing signs of rust. Engine wise, she's great! Engine sounds sweet, and pulls well in every gear. Suspension wise, she needs an overhall. Interior is basic but (now) clean and tidy. Hood is shot, but Gayle went straight onto ebay and found a brand new hood that the seller has had lying around for a couple of years for £120! result! She bought it, then we had another road trip to Aberdeen to go collect it. Hood is mint and getting fitted this weekend! I have noticed when at speeds of 70mph upwards, she has a horrible vibration which is coming from the front. It shakes through the car, and if at lower speeds (60mph) we go over any bumps in road, it shakes up through the steering wheel which deffo isn't right. Unfortunately during the test drive there were no roads we could get her up to anything over 30 - 40mph so this only came to light on the way home. But hopefully the work i'm planning should resolve these issues. So Plans are: Fit the new hood Replace all 4 shocks and springs Replace upper/lower wishbones (they look ok, just grubby, but I want to replace all bushes so might aswell just change the whole lot.) Replace wheels/tyres with dished BBS rims Full service including timing belt/fan belt etc. New front and rear brakes (rears have just had brand new calipers fitted) Full custom interior retrim in either full leather or half leather/alcantara Full respray, looking to go for a nice metal flake red! Will also be taking it to BorderMX5 before the paint to have both rear sills repaired professionally/correctly. Think we should be able to get through the next mot with them but not chancing it any longer than that. Engine and engine bay fully detailed. Accessories, such as chrome/stainless steel boot rack, new stereo (just replaced the one that was there for a Pioneer that I had lying around in the garage). Will be a long term project, but want to fully replace as much as we can as we go along for brand new/renovated parts. End goal is to have one very mint mk1 MX5. After cleaning her interior up to my standards, Gayle said "oh look, the suns out!" Which roughly translated means "time for a run in Mindy with the top down!" lol Got some pics when we were out. Totally love this wee car! She's not perfect, but she's ours and makes me happy! First ever convertible I've ever owned, and loving it! Don't worry though, DD isn't going anywhere! Just taking a break from her for a wee while as she needs MOT'd and a new front caliper. Plan is when I get the spraying gear all sorted out to respray the mx5 , I'll be doing DD's front end at the same time. So all's good!
