  1. @phill1975 What was it like to use mate? Much dust after buffing etc? Shine looks mega deep! Love this car, always looks stunning. And as said above, always loved the reg it has (JDM) lol, a right poke in the eye to the "JDM only lot" ! lmao. Might give this a try, as been looking to change my polishing products.
  2. I need to wait till Tuesday bud, will make sure its paid then
  3. Meet starts 1pm outside Dalkeith Country park. Run starts 1:30pm See you all there!
  4. Will all depend on the offset of the wheels mate. The lower the offset, the deeper the "dish" of the wheel. Ours is quite high, so be wary of what you buy. On saying that, some of our members have managed to get some really nice wide wheels on theirs (look at chandlers deck for inspiration) with a adjustable cambers, arch rolling and sometimes a bit of tyre stretch. It just depends what look you want, and what work you're prepared to do to the car to get them on there. You got a link to the wheels you're thinking about so we can see the specs of them?
  5. Wow, has to be one of my all time favourite cars. Love the S2K's and came oh so close to buying one before I got the TypeR. Massive cusdos to you mate for doing all the work yourself, the rewards at the end of it a re so much more than just handing the car over to have all the work done. Looks superb, lowered just nice. Am I jealeous? Too bloody right! lol
  6. Bloody hell they're wide!!! Should look good when you get them on mate!

    Best Tyres?

Tyres are quite a personal preference tbh. Each has their own brand that they've found to suit their needs, some for different reasons. I had them ecsta sports on my FN2 TypeR when I first got it from the dealership (they fitted them, brand new tyres) but have got to say.......................I hated them. Not sure if it was just the type of car they were on, but honestly found in the wet the car was undriveable, to the point where it was down right dangerous! And not talking about driving it hard or at speed, just trying to even pull away from junctions was an effort, the car spinning up in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes third with hardly any throttle. Cornering wise, it basically didnt!! lol I had them on the car about 2 weeks and then binned them before I ended up binning the car! Maybe just a bad batch of tyres? As other folk have had good results with them, but I also had a set on a wee Seat Ibiza I had (no laughing!!) and it was also a bit of a handful in the rain. I've had Toyo T1R's on my MB's which were great in the dry, really grippy. In the wet, not too bad, but found during the winter they were useless. They are a decent tyre, but dont last long. Wear is a big issue with them! But still recommend them. One tyre I've never had any problems with is GoodYear. Had the GoodYear Efficient Grips on Ruby, and they were fantastic, in the wet or dry. Tons of grip, and last well too. I've now got GoodYear Eagles on the FN2, and the difference in grip is amazing. Totally planted in the dry, great grip in the wet and also predictable grip in the wet. They've also been pretty decent throughout the winter too, the very cold temps not affecting them much. So I'd recommend GoodYears. Only prob with them is the price. The deck (DD) has Pirelli contact sports? (If I remember rightly!! lol) and these too have been really decent. Not sure of wet weather grip as the DD is never out in the rain if I can help it, and never gets driven hard anyways. So for normal driving, these are also good. On my Civic TypeS FN1, I changed the tyres all round to Avons (just weeks before I traded her in too! Doh!) and these are another tyre I'd rate well. Good grip and not too expensive either, so a good all rounder. The way I always look at buying tyres though is this...........no matter what car you have, what upgrades (suspension etc) you have, the only contact your car has with the road is the tyres. Thats the only thing keeping you going in the direction you want to go. So I never scrimp on the cost of decent tyres. Always Buy the best you can afford
  13. Excellent mate, good to see members getting into the group buys. Saves everyone money which is always a good thing! Can you post it up in classifieds too mate, with a link to this thread for people to add their names to. If you can use an image from that site for display, that would be perfect.

  15. Yeah, deffo need to adjust the catch mate otherwise it wont stay closed. Its mega easy to do though, and means it all fits perfectly. And they just sit in there, no bolting down neccessary bud. Means you can still use the console for storing stuff which is good, as the mbs are lacking in storage space/cubby holes. Really sweet mb6 you picked up, looks really clean and tidy.
  16. No mate, they're a very different shape. As Tom says, indicators are a different shape, and the front of the wing where it meets the bumper is also at a different height.
  17. Thanks Gerry, appreciate the nice comments. Makes it all worth while! I've restored a few Mark 3 cortinas (one of my all time fav cars!) just love the old classics. Always fancied a 1600E, very sweet cars, and them old dollys could shift!! Mark 3 wise I've had a 2000E (modded with white 8 spoke weller wheels, front spoiler, boot spoiler, rear window louvre, flat pan air filter, sports back back box, oh and CB radio of course! lol) and 2 x GXL's. Hoping that one day Dawns deck will be considered a classic.
  18. Ahh, still not too far away mate, just up the road. Some "interesting " roads up there lol.
  19. Excellent news mate! That's who I'm with too, did me a great deal on the deck! One of the benefits of civic5 being a proper club

  22. Did you get the rear bumper mate? Love this wee mb, looks the nuts!
  23. @Matt_N lol loving the hotwheels on the dash and rear shelf! Ive got a scale metal model of roxy on her dash! Now without sounding old, back in my younger days of car modding, my first mk3 cortina (a 2000E no less, one of my fav cars of all time!) I had a few larger scale metal model cars on the parcel shelf, and had their taillights fitted with wee led's that lit up with my brake lights!!!! lol sounds mad now but looked pretty cool back then! Been looking to try something similar with my typeR model, but being 1.43 scale its a bit harder to get lights in there. Although I have a slightly bigger one thats remote controlled and has working lights............hmmmmmm ideas are churning! Still looking to try and produce a scale model aerodeck!
