  1. depending on finances I'm hoping to be getting a 4.785 final driven gear to clag onto the s9 box... so I'm gonna end up revving even higher oin 5th, so a longer 5th would be ace
  2. ohh.. I'd kill for another gear... or at least pay for one is there any compatable box with a longer 5th? diesels / accords?
  3. so I'm trying to catch up on all the little bits and bobs I've done over the years that I haven't really shown. this is the holder for my phone: i did this for my old nokia n96, but luckily my n900 fits a treat. i started by taking the clock out (used to just irritate me anyway... always used the clock on my headunit, but the dash clock would always end up reading a different time on it ) I got one of those phone holders with a bendy arm and a suction cup and removed the bendy arm and suction cup (it's actually a hybrid between a one from halfrauds with a spring release mechanism and an ebay one which had a ball joint type movable head... the discarded parts joined forces and went on ebay) I glued it into position with epoxy, and used some modelling plastic sheet to blank off the rest of the hole. then covered that with adhesive black vinyl. I use it with my nokia car kit which has a charger as part of it, so i left a hole for that and fed it through, so there isn't wires hanging all over the place. because i use it for streaming music to the headunit, it makes day to day life so much easier.. and is one of the favourite things I've done to the car. also useful for using the phone as a sat nav. 1"£££$££"!!
  4. Got sick of looking at the horrible scratch on my bonnet off a clod of mud that suspiciously found it's way there over night a while back, and left horrible scratches as it slid off when I washed it looked like this: So I broke out the clay bar (I've got a new favourite smell ) and then the colour magic, and finally some lovely wax. you can still faintly see the scratches (there's some wispy clouds overhead showing in the reflection in the pics that get in the way of where the scratches are) but it's a massive improvement. and ohhh... the feel of the freshly clayed paintwork... mmmmmmmm And general shiny bonnet pics: It was way too hot to be doing it to be honest - the polish was steaming off as soon as I put it on the bonnet and hazing up straight away.. which meant it took twice as long (at least)| to polish it off.. must get round to doing the rest of the car now
  5. aye, was looking at them last night tbh, but where's the fun in that? what can I say... i like to polish. plus it gets me out the house
  6. well, all of the talk of tidy engine bays spurred me on to try out my dremmel type rotary tool with grinding and polishing bits, and cleaned up a few bits.. exhaust manifold brackets and one of the pipes (second from left), and also had a bit of a go at my rocker cover coz it needed freshening up a bit.. mainly did the Honda H that I couldn't really get to with autosol and a cloth when I first did it. can also see the recently painted strut brace but looking at the pic there was a few bits that stood out as looking shabby... first was vtec solenoid.... before: after: 100 times better... could do with a bit finishing when you look up close, but when you're stood up it looks fine
  7. x2 when I did karen's the other week, the one I fitted had an allen key hole, but the one I took off didn't
  8. Yeah ebay mate 99p lol! there like a xenon colour! will see better when its dark! 1"£££$££"!! cheers dude!
  9. looks pretty good Paul - are they the one's off ebay? been looking at them but they looked a bit too blue, but they look a nice colour on your pics what are they like in the flesh?
  10. well, a few more days (and some soggy feet) has got the better of the neoprene. I was a bit unsure about it... the principle's sound, just need some better neoprene... 1"£££$££"!!
  11. they do change into a nifty foot rest. I like them for my stupid wide feet.
  12. looking good Dave 1"£££$££"!! how do the tyre pressures things work - what does it connect to / is there much to wire in? have you sussed out how you're gonna install the display? so many questions
  13. finally gave it a try... been thinking about it for ages. I'm sure plenty of you see this sorry sight every time you get in the car.... so got an a4 sheet of neoprene of ebay for a few squid, stuck it on and hey presto: a tidier footwell. it's lasted well for a few days so far... the neoprene was thinner than I expected, but is holding up well. with it being neoprene it shouldn't be slippy when wet.
  14. just realised I haven't said what what it is.. it's white sticky vinyl sheet. I tried making templates by doing a 'brass rubbing' (scribbling over the H with paper and a pencil) and tried pressing tin foil into the indentation to get the shape, but in the end just stuck a bit of vinyl over it, pressed it into the shape and then trimmed it with a scalpel. I think that I could have used something a bit sharper to press it in to the corners to get a better cut, so might redo it at some point.
  15. done... haven't been able to stop thinking about it after all of the in car shots from the Senna film the other week... like this: http://youtu.be/LKils9Mae8Q few little raggy bits so might redo it
