  1. Not sure really, but found this online... there can be many reasons for this. clogged air filter, clogged fuel filter, old spark plugs. if you do a tune-up and still the same problem, there are two things you can change, that will be the o2 sensor, which regulates how much gas and oxygen to combine for combustion, or the less likely one would be your etc or engine temperature control, which when bad for some reason also makes your car waste more gas than usual. but o2 sensor is MUCH more likely to go than etc sensor.
  2. Crikey! Long time bud - didn't you used to have the diesel aerodeck? How's it going? What happened to the mc3? You can download the workshop manual from the download section on here - that should sort you out - if not, I've got a Haynes manual so can check if you need it. It's a weird one - I guess you've checked the connections etc?
  3. Might have to invest in some of those if I can't get the RAYBRIG dc5 ones to fit that I bought ages ago.
  4. That's a shame that you've had to let Mindy go - hope that you guys are okay.
  5. What did you end up getting? Hope that a suitable civic pops up, but it's quite a small pool to pick from now.
  6. Lots of good jobs going on mate - nice one in getting stuck in
  7. As far as the part number goes, you'll be able to get it from here if you put your reg in. https://www.lingshondaparts.com/partscatalog/catalog/selectsearch/catalog/hondacars/
  8. Nice find - the rear lip has to be the rarest bit of the vtis kit for the deck.
  9. Still more than double the standard power chief I bet that it does improve drivability (or frisking as my predictive text tried to say ) - might be better on the track as well for lower speed corners? Sounds like there's some nice prezzies for the old engine on the way then?
  10. I always fancied having one of them hooked up to a bike race can. Don't know if it would be any good power wise, but was interested to see what the sound was like at high revs coming out of the two different back boxes.
  11. Hi mate, good to see you've still got her and the s2k. They've both always been top, and looks like they still are.
  12. Nice spot for the guage bud. Should have got some pics of the transport Will be good being able to get her track ready before you go there.
  13. Cheers Jake, it's appreciated Think it just needs cracking open and checking out.
  14. Never notice it smoking, but think it must do on a cold start as there's a sooty mark on the garage door. Had a compression test done a few months back when it had its service before the mot, and it was a bit down - can't remember how much now, it how many were down (was when I had my brain fog) but my mech wasn't worried (or didn't want to pull the engine apart too fix it ). Would lie compression point to stem seals or just rings? Wonder if a new O2 sensor is needed if it's running rich?
  15. So after a bit of advice. My engine doesn't seem to be as happy as it used to, it feels like it runs out of steam when it gets to 7k. It smells like it's running rich, and when I checked the oil tonight it was pretty filthy, but it's not that long since it had a service. When I pulled the dip stick out there was a smell of exhaust fumes. All sounds like some kind of seals on the way - stem seals? Need to get the dc2 cams in and springs, so that's head off and skim, and will get all new head seals /gaskets - is there anything else to think about?
  16. Little sunset snap on the way to the shop last night. Those photos were taken at the same time.. My phone must have compensated too much on the car pic... Oh well.
  17. Looks tidy mate, nice job on the spacer. Must be for a different dizzy - I got a reconditioned dizzy years ago, and every time I buy a new cap it's slightly too big, so I have to keep buying the caps from the place I got it from to get one that fits. How are you finding the electronic ignition?
