  1. I would have thought so as well, but don't know for certain. I've got a feeling that Rob @kyekye09 had an mc1 and had an arb if you can find his project thread. Going back some time there mind. Maybe @Dave can remember. Actually, Dave, does DD have one?
  2. Just seen that there's a sale on mgzs / rover 400 & 45 parts on rimmerbros.com at the mo of anyone needs any of the parts that are the same.
  3. Shame that you're having to break it, but at least you're still going to have some fun with it. Wouldn't know what a full kit would go for, but I'd be wanting in the hundreds for it when you think of what you would have to pay for the parts separately?
  4. Splitter looks good in gloss. Looking more stealthy and moody nowadays chief.
  5. So turns out that the port on the IM is the same size as the TB. Guess that the IM must have had a step up in size, which I think is supposed to be a benefit - oh well.
  6. Car's at the garage today for something that I've been meaning to get done for ages - getting the intake mani ported to match the dc2 throttle body. I don't know if it really needs it, but although the bigger throttle body made a nice difference to throttle response and acceleration generally, I had a nagging feeling that it was struggling at higher revs after the butterflies opened, compared to before (or compared to lower in the rev range anyway), and figured that it was because there was a step that the air was having to force past. Might make loads of difference or none... Who knows It's at AK Automotive, which is the place that do loads of mx5 stuff and have a race team. When I dropped the car off yesterday, I had to laugh at this sticker on the back of this track mx5
  7. Hello mate, glad you're enjoying the civic! Don't think that there's that many off the shelf options (or at least there didn't used to be). Back box wise I've now had two custom ones - a power flow one, and then recently one made by a local company which in my opinion is a better job than the power flow one. Either way with a custom back box they can make it sound how you want. I've got a supersprint centre pipe, but they aren't the cheapest, and if you were getting a back box made up, you might as well get them to do the whole lot.
  8. Cheers, pleased with how she scrubbed up - could do with a clay bar, or even a machine polish (if the paint would stand it). Did notice a little rust patch starting on the passenger door at the corner. Checked on tubs and it must be one of the only panels that doesn't have any rust on, so think I'll be swapping the door (typical that I notice it after swapping the weather strips!). The car show was pretty cool - had a good natter with the lad with the eg. He's got a dc2 engine in it.. Lush colour paint on it as well. Was quite a posh country gent type feel to the day, but was pretty sound.
  9. Going to a classic and retro car meet / show tomorrow, so have given the old girl a good clean and the first polish after the restoration. Also, swapped the weather strips from tubs as they were only a few years old. Will take plenty of photos tomorrow.

    Taillights

Pretty sure that they aren't mate, but someone else might know for sure.
  11. Popped to the shop this morning, and was surprised at how sprightly the car felt. I forgot how much it likes cooler fresh air. After the drop in temperature and humidity there was really a difference!
  12. You have been enjoying yourself! Is that the spare going in so the other one can get some special treatment?
  13. I bet! I've literally just got back from driving a Renault captur hire car, which had a pitiful little diesel engine, but took off when the turbo kicked in. Stupid little car it was. Couldn't even enjoy the turbo, coz it felt like it couldn't handle it
  14. I'm sure that after about 50 he would have left me for dead once the grunt kicked in, but hey ho.
  15. One of these tried to beat me away from the lights on the way back (and was planning on cutting me up as their lane didn't go off the roundabout). I wasn't racing, as I didn't know they were going that way, but I did set it away to hear the new exhaust. Left him behind... Just looked at the specs.. There's life in the old b series yet The guy in the fn civic behind me at the lights was less than impressed with being cut up by him though.
  16. Cheers Ali. I've always wanted to stick with the 4-2-1 to keep as much low down grunt as I can. Got an itr oem one on at the mo.
  17. Finally got the car in to get the knackered back box sorted out.. The old power flow one was fooked. Apart from the flange just about falling off, the seam on the box was goosed, so ended up with a nice new shiny one. The guy who did it used to do the power flow ones where I got mine said they used to use rubbish and the seams always went. The new one's a bit bigger and matches the rest of the system, and has a bit more of a fruity sound to it, and a bit of a burble coming off the revs low down. Pretty happy with what they've done. Seems a bit freer at higher revs, so wonder if the back box being goosed was interfering with the flow.
  18. Was out the other day with the boy, and got a couple of drinks from the garage - and had them in the armrest holder. It's such a rubbish place! Think I might have to invest in one of the integra ones.. How did you fit it in in the end?
  19. I've got 17s on my deck - I can't remember anyone fitting 18s before though.
