    What tyres!

Yeah, have to agree with Simon. Never know what the weather is going to throw at us in this country mate. I used to have the Toyo T1Rs on my wee MA civic and on Ruby, butvthey wore out quite quickly. Switched to Goodyears and loved them, and did have them on all my cars until recently. They seem to have an issue (maybe I was just unlucky) of the rubber between the grooves separating. Last set on the mini had tons of tread left, we're only about 3 years old but we're buggered because of the cracks in the rubber. Just fitted a set of Avon all season tyres to DD and found them to be amazing! Superb grip in the dry and the wet, quite low road noise too. Worth a look.
  2. Lol yeah, I've always looked at them too ever since I sold the first Lexy. Thing is, they really seem to have held onto their values. Looked about 6 months ago and the 1.8 GTs, if you could find one, we're silly prices. Saw one with 50k on it and it was 8 grand! Never thought I'd find one again, but just by luck this one popped up at a garage on Autotrader. Had only been listed for an hour, nit even any pics up of it as it was still being prepped. Knew we had to check it out, and when the photos went up Gayle reserved it there and then! Guy at garage had had a load of phone calls about it before we got down there, so glad she did! Just drives so nice, feels like a new car, and just like my old Lexy. That has always been the one car I regretted selling, even more so than Ruby. No regrets now though!
  3. Hi folks. Had a 2010 Civic TypeS GT in red (aka Sexy Lexy) about 9 years ago, followed by a 2008 Civic TypeR in silver (aka Roxy). Traded the TypeR in for something more sensible for a daily driver, and have had a load of various cars since then. Always missed my TypeS tho! Was supposed to be looking for a classic 1980s Vw Golf convertible or an old Scirocco, but got fed up looking at sheds. Decided plan B was needed which was to sell my 1st Gen MINI Cooper s convertible and get a sensible daily driver again! Initially looked at 10th gen civics, but wasn't too keen on the style, so the hunt was on for a TypeS GT again (pref in red). Had to be the GT, had to be the 1.8 and no older than a 2010. Found one down in Yorkshire for £4.5k, years mot, service history, 64k on the clock,in red....and even the first 2 letters of the reg were the same as my old one (OE). She drives like a brand new car, so happy to be back in an 8th gen! Only got a few pics of her so far but will get more. Hope you like! Some subtle mods on the way, pretty much the same as I did withLexy senior lol Oh, and also means DD is relieved of the daily driving duties, so tucked up in the garage. Means I can spend time getting her back to show standard now!
  4. Haha, only made the one DD console mate, that was enough hair pulling out for me to get right! Did contemplate doing another, but settled on a single din with motorised 7 inch screen. Works well, even if I did need to make a trim piece for surrounding it as it sits out further to allow the screen hinges to work. Still looks good though.
  5. Yeah, the strip at the bottom of the window should be black. It's like a rubber type coating on them that wears away leaving the chrome looking metal, that will eventually corrode. Brand new ones are rare, but you can remove them, sand them down and repaint them in satin black. Another option is to paint them with plasticoat which gives the appearance of rubber, but longevity might be an issue using that.
  6. Looks hard as nails that!
  7. Nothing is ever straight forward with the Civic Ms! With they had been obd2, make things a lot simpler. You going to by the harness? Probably the only easy option I think.
  8. Hi George, glad you finally got into the forum😃. Love Greece, been to a lot of the Greek islands many times and spotted a few Civics there! That's a stunning pre face-lift Civic you have there, looks really sweet! Enjoy the club and don't forget to download our official Honda service manual. Tons of info in there!
  9. Have answered some of you questions above mate. Have a look at our downloadable service guide as I sure it lists part numbers in there for cross checking on the ones you have found.
  10. Just wondering if anyone's heading to this today? Usually a massive show. We're just about to head over in DD.
  11. Yeah, I saw that one too! Not been modded, totally original. Low miles too, would be nice to see it end up in the club.
  12. Mate that would be amazing if you still have it! Just think she looks kinda odd after being so used to her wearing them for god knows how many years! Lol
  13. Took a few photos yesterday. Bumper is obviously fooked but least its not hanging off now lol. New headlight etc all working fine and new headlight washer fitted and working too. She looks not bad to be fair! Will be even better once I get the new bumper painted/fitted along with painting the bonnet and spoiler.
  14. Meant to update this! Headlight was smashed to bits at the back so fitted one of my spare ones. Slam panel was slightly bent but got it bang on straight again so headlight sitting flush with bumper/wing/bonnet again. Managed to cut a small metal plate to size and riveted I to ghe top of the bumper to replicate the bolt holes that were ripped off the bumper, so it's now bolted back into place solid using the original bolt holes on the wing. Still got a nasty crack, but tbh looks pretty decent and least she's back on the road. Picked up the new bumper and crash bar, so will get them painted and fitted along with painting the front spoiler and bonnet. Thanks to Camy also picked up a job lot of spares including two front wings, steering wheel, oem honda civic MB/MC radio, injectors, and various other bits....all for £20! Then got the aerodeck spares car to call about when we get back from hols tomorrow so might have a complete deck for spares. Things looking up in DDs world again! Will post pics of the repair now she's on the road again.
  15. That's looking sweet!😎
  16. Gutted! Driving DD to work on Friday and had an accident 😭 Deer ran straight out in front of me, jammed the brakes on but still hit it hard. Front bumper gone, fog light, headlamp washer jet, slam panel at headlight pushed back about a cm. And her ultra rare honda headlight protectors smashed😭 Have managed to locate a bumper and crash bar, and have spare headlight washer. Got a spare set of fogs somewhere but damned if I can find em!
  17. Nice mate! Glad you got it sorted out and good to know you have a map there in case any members are needing one/info.

    Spotted!

Out and about in DD yesterday, and who should we spot coming the other way on the A68 but Cammy in his silver deck! Decks looking sweet mate!😀
  19. Right, to hell with YouTube. Uploaded directly to civic5! Couple of photos too. 20240502_165628.mp4
  20. Should be viewable now although YouTube won't let me embed it on the site for some reason. Probs need YouTube premium for that now...another money making con lol
  21. Shite! Wtf is YouTube playing at with my videos! It was set to public and also allow embedding but it doesn't allow that either when viewing the video? I'll see if I can fix it.
  22. Nice, wish more places up here too that approach. Might see if there's any interest in pubs near here for a classic/retro/modded car meet! Know a place where it would be ideal!

Man she is looking spot on mate! Sitting really nice on those wheels too. Stunning!
  24. lol yeah, deffo keeping the eyes on the road! Finally got it fitted properly and got the trim piece made for it and fitted so looks pukka now. Will post another photo/pic of it when I get a chance. Went for a day our with my mate who does volunteering at a steam locomotive museum in Bo'ness (he's big into his trains). He's been learning all the skills for restoring them so had me round the various workshops showing me how the trains work/how they restore them. Was fascinating stuff, everything is on such a huge scale copared to when I used to restore old Ford Cortinas. Highlights were we both got tasked with giving one of the engines aa clean.......Thomas the tank engine!! lmao But biggest highlight was he arranged with one of the drivers to give us a we run through the station, up front in the cabin! Was totally amazing experience, and a box most definitley ticked! We went up in DD (who's now rocking her posh wheels again!) and been the longest trip by far she's had in years. Drove spot on all the way! Got a nice wee video of her beside the tracks as the train came past driven by Taylor who gave us a toot toot as they went by lol. I'll upload the photos later but here's the video for now. https://youtu.be/WGjsVH0bU5k
