Yeah, no way I was entertaining that price! Beginning to wish I'd bought that spares deck for £500 now! It's still there, but got loads more I need to be spending money on so once I'm done if it's still there I might jump on it.
-
As Simon says, they were never available new from anywhere else's other than Honda. You can still order them from Honda (I was going to get a new one for my deck after the encounter with the deer a few months ago) but they can't give a delivery date to the dealership. Said they are in Belgium (possibly) but could be a matter of weeks or possibly months. Price has also gone up dramatically, I paid £250 for my new one for my mb6 from Honda. Now they are £550! Best bet is getting one from a breaker.

The good news is all the Civic M's MB/MB/MC are the same body parts in that area so repair panels for the Rover 45/400/MGZS fit. @Roverjoe in the forum has restored his in this area and has videos on Youtube. The Civic Ms seemed to have outlasted the 3 door civics rust wise, especially in the rear arches/sills, so think they've done well to only be needing this done now. I'm luck that my deck still is solid in the sills/arches etc but she's garaged all the time since 2013.

Try our downloadable guide mate, it has photos of where the plug is located etc.

Yes mate, deffo ones that can be retro fitted so look OEM. Two things honda left out in the Civic Ms....cupholders and storage! Lol
-
Lol nope, Honda blatantly didn't fit any! No idea why, hot them in other Honda such as integra and accord etc. There are options though, as Rover made two that fit inside the centre front arm rest console. The other option is to retro fit ones from another car. I fitted the ones from the centre console of the integra typeR DC2.

Happy Christmas to you too mate, hope you had a good one!

Think there might be some in the downloadable civic service manual we have in the downloads section mate. The old Haynes manual for these also has the wiring diagrams in them too.

That looks stunning! Loving that! @dr_broon yup, something about metallic reds that I just love! Gayles new Micra is a similar colour to that red too!

Deffo worth it! DD was out the other night away into the middle of nowhere to pick up a pool table. Roads were all single track to a wee house that's in the middle of the hills. Was pitch dark and totally off grid. The roads (more like tracks tbh!) were shocking but she did it. Now covered in mud all over life a rally car! Defo not shiny like Tubs!😁

As Simon said mate, it would be hard to tell from photos of them if they'll actually fit. On saying that, there is some similarities between the sedan and the Civic Ms depending if it's the ek/ej based on or the Domani based one. Domain ones might have a chance of fitting I think, but again I wouldn't put money on it! Lol

Good shout mate, I'll se about getting this added to FAQ. And thank you, cracking info there!

Restoring My Nana And Grandads Honda Civic MB6
Dave replied to Roverjoe's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Looking forward to the updates mate. How hard was it to remove the fuel filler pipe from the car and also the tank? DDs is looking like it needs a good clean up and been wanting to take the tank out for a while to get it cleaned up and protected. Know they are like hens teeth!- 71 replies

Oh, and bit of an oversight on my part, didn't realise it at the time but her insurance ran out on the day we drove into Edinburgh! 😲 Didn't even get a renewal letter/email! On the plus side, went looking for a new quote and actually got her insurance way cheaper than it's ever been so well happy. Went with OneCall, same company I've got Lexy insured with. Turns out Gayle has Foxy her wee Micra with them too. Bit of a high excess though at £350, but hey-ho would rather have the cheaper premium and take that hit if the worst comes. All in, with breakdown cover, protected no claims, legal cover, courtesy car etc fully comp is £197, although because I'm doing it monthly comes in at £206. Pretty decent!

Had the gritters out a couple of times lately up here too so keeping DD well away from it lol. Did have her out for a run into Edinburgh last week to pick up a kitchen island (she's such a "practical classic" lol) and she drove nice. Funny how small she felt after driving the TypeS! Even though she's the biggest car we have, we both commented the design of her made her feel smaller. Dashboard isn't as deep as new cars, so windscreen is much closer to you, that kind of thing. Was nice to be driving her again though!

Welcome mate. Nice looking Aerodeck that, looks clean. Things to prevent on these... rust, rust and rust! Rear arches, sills at rear and also inner sills. They also rust away from left to right along the boot floor, kinda up behind the tank out of sight. Mechanics wise, usual thing like giving them a good service to keep them on song. Your timing belt is probably due changing too.

I've banned the IP mate. Maybe give you a call at the weekend and show you how to do it. Have noticed the admin panel is hardr to navigate on the tablet compared to the laptop.
