I found the MB3 1.5 quite decent power wise. My fellow admin DAVEMB2 has an MB3 as his daily which he's modded (naturally! lol) and think it is sitting at 125bhp? Feels really nippy, and gets over 400miles to a tank of fuel!! First time I drove a B18 (mate on here jalesi2001 had a VTi and gave me a shot) I was totally hooked! That's what convinced me to go find my own, hence Ruby. Has to be in my top two most fun cars I've owned! The VTEC crossover sounds amazing in them and they just seem to rev forever!! Highly recommend getting a passenger ride/drive an mb6, you'll be laughing you're head off!

You can retro fit it, involves changing the head etc. Think it's known as a "mini-me"

You got to be kidding??? First I've heard of that!

Induction kit will give you a nicer sound, and add some bling to the engine bay but won't give you many ponies (although there will be a slight increase). New HT leads (especially some decent spec ones) will also look sweet. You can go for a stainless manifold too plus cat back or decated stainless exhaust which will again free up some power. The manifold would look cool in there with everything being so mint.

Yes, bit of a mystery this one. If it was a 1996 model then could put it down to Honda just using up parts they had left to make way for the new MB Civic. Will need to watch out for other 1.6 non vtec pre-facelift Civics in the club, see what is one their chassis plates. It could be a mcuk up at the factory when she was being made, maybe they created the wrong chassis code by mistake? Either way, a really mint wee civic you've got mate. That engine bay looks really clean and original.

D series is a sweet engine, feels smoother that the B series in my opinion. But did love the B18 when I had Ruby, she could embarass a lot more expensive cars (she did quite regulary)! Have a look at Mae-Civic, she's tastefully modded her French MB1 (also in white like yours). Still running the D series too. Yoir mb1 remionds me of hers alot, love them both!

Might need to delve into Honda's history a bit more, see what we can dig up lol

Yes he has bud, check here >> I remember first time we me, I was in Ruby I think, and saw the vtis deck! Had my head swiveling 180' degrees! Had the white vtis speedlines same as Ruby! He also clocked Ruby so we turned round and stopped for a blether about all things civic M! lol

Mind and blank some of it out though before posting the photo! lol Does it say the model on the logbook as SR or LS? If it's LS we'll need to update our model codes page to reflect this, unless she's maybe had the engine replaced at some point? Can you see a vtec solenoid on the engine, and is there vtec written on the cam cover? Good close up photos of the engine bay from each side of the car and also the front would help identify things too

Can't beat the look of fresh shiney paint mate! I really have to get DD's front end done this year. We should hopefully be moving to our new cottage so once the new garage is built will try and make time to do this as I'd love to do it myself (went to college for this years ago and passed the course, sprayed loads of cars but not done any proper spraying for a long time!) Really loving this rebuild mate, she already looked amazing but this will take her to way above the next level! Really want to see this in the metal one day! Oh, on a side note, JordanH on here lives just along the road from me. He's also got a VTiS aerodeck he's restoring so seeing as we've not seen each other in ages he's coming along tomorrow then we're off down to his unit to see the progress on his aerodeck. Sooo loking forward to it! I'll get him to have a look at this for inspiration mate!

The prefacelift civic M's are rare in the uk now adays mate, the MB1 SR is uber rare. I'd be tempted to mod the original engine if it's in good shape. B18 DOHC VTECwill give you 169BHP standard out of the box and can be taken up over 200BHP, but it drives totally different to the D series SOHC VTEC. Another reason why I'd keep it original.

This is the part of car restorations I love! Body prep all done, masking all done......time to spray! I LOVE spray painting! Can I be cheeky and ask how much it's costing you to get the whole side painted mate?

Hang on, is yours an 1.6 SR, as it says LS in your profile bit? As the MB1 is an SR if its the pre facelft model. Has it deffo got mb1 on the chassis plate?

For fitting a steering wheel, see this thread. Although it's fitting a non-aftermarket whell, it gives you an idea whats involved. I'ts quite eaasy tbh depending on what your fitting. If its an after market wheel, you'll also need the boss. If you cant find an MB Civic specific boss, the DC2/eg civic ones fit ours. For the srs airbag reset, see our how to guide here in the downloads section >>> https://civic5.com/forum/files/file/16-how-to-guide-no3-reset-the-srs-light/ Hope this helps. Dave

jeese, that's a hella long time to have been without Tubs! Good thing is though that with all that cycling you've done in that year you'll be a lot fitter when you do drive her again lol

It's the 180 set up mate as the 120 is basically standard suspension.
