  1. Thats the spirit! Now she's welded mate she'll be good as new. No shame to her needing that to be honest given our Civic M's are all old girls now. Always good to get the mot out of the way for another year! She'll look sweet with the VTiS skirts on. Is the squeal maybe just the fan belt needing tightened/adjusted?
  2. That shine is unbelievable mate!!! Looks like glass! Shes looking top dollar indeed!
  3. Deffo no an old codger driving it now mate! Lol yeah, would love to have a meet this year, not sure if we're gonna have the funds to get DD on the road though, need to wait and see. Im skint at the moment! Would be great to see everyone again. Just checked your number on my phone. Its ending "077". Lol no wonder you didnt get the text Mine still the same, ends 701. You want to text me your number Ali and I'll change it in my phone.
  4. It was a youngish dude driving it mate, maybe in his mid to late 20's? No older than 30 i thought. Ill need to check that number! Have you changed number recently? Lol, yeah have to love their 28 speed gearboxes in F n F!
  5. Thanks Ali. Yeah, a wee bit kore power would be nice i guess for any straight roads, although tbh we always go and find the wee back roads when we go anywhere in Mindy. Tis a mega blast if giving her beans on the twisty roads though! What i would really like is the six speed box from the mk2.5, the gearing on the motorway means quite high revs at 70-80. I texted you the other day Ali, spotted your old Accord in Musselburgh. Still looks sweet as hell!
  6. It's quite theraputic to be honest although your fingers might be a bit sore when you've finished.
  7. Thought you would notice a difference mate! Nice to see the MB getting some treats! Red and black is always a winner, and funny how even a new set of mats can make a car feel so much nicer. I bought one of those kits you used to be able to buy to retrim your steering wheel in leather for my old MA8 Civic. Spent hours doing the stitching, think i did them in blue to match her paint. Long tedious job but well worth it. Wheel felt nice being leather and also chunckier/thicker.
  8. See! Now I am envious!! Parts look amazing mate. Really want to do this with the aerodeck and the mx5! Looking sweet bud!
  9. Been a while since I updated this. Now almost recovered from the heart attack I can confirm that the actual attack was the easy bit! How it affects you/what you can do and how long it takes to get back to normal is the hardest and most frustrating part. But hey ho, I'm nearly there and hoping to start back to work next week. Have also been restricted to what I can do on the cars since it happened but finally getting back to almost normal on that front too. Just takes me a bit longer than it used to! So, not a lot been happening in Carly's world apart from her daily duties. Has been driving great, no probs. Today, had her in for the dreaded MOT..............................which she passed again with flying colours. Not even a single advisory. MOT guy also commented that she was really really clean, perfect wee car. Really pleased! Had thought about maybe trading her in as I've had her over 3 years now (I think) but as she's had such a clean bill of health we'll be keeping wee Carly!
  10. That boot looks like it's never been used! Clean as! Glad you got the rear seats fitted properly, know they can be a pain! She's looking lovely and deffo agree that just subtle mods are the way to go with these now as they are getting rare (well, the decent ones in good nick are like yours). I'm still thinking about putting DD back on her standard suspension, oh, and even found her original 14" alloys when moving the shed! Not that they'll be going back on, but good to have them for when she does hit proper modern classic status. Originality is where the money is.
  11. That sounds like a decent price mate! Apparently its the suspension being tightened fully while car is in the air that causes the shuddering over bumps etc. Hadnt heard of this before I had Mindy, but can see how it would affect the car.
  12. I think you will notice a fairly big difference with the new shocks Gerry, more than you might think. One thing though, make sure you take her for a full geometery set up afterwards as the alignment will be all over the place. Another thing to note, tell whoever is fitting them to do them up only loosely while car is on ramp. Only tighten/torque them fully once car is back on the ground as they need the weight of the car on them first. Otherwise the bushes will already be under strain which buggers up the ride. I'm taking Mindy in soon to have this done. Rear calipers are a pain! You've done the best thing replacing them, no more hassles (well not fir a long time at least!). Finding a mechanic you can trust nowadays is like finding gold! I'm still looking for one to look after my cars (for servicing and big jobs i cant do)!

    Tow bar on mb3

Thats funny you should remind me today! I was down clearing out down the side of shed today mate as we have a new one coming! Saw what i thought was the tow bar, but unfortunately all thats there are two metal brackets from it, the rest is gone. Also noticed my VTiS rear lip for the Aerodeck is gone! Gutted! Not sure if someone has taken it as i deffo did not sell that. The sideskirts were still there though so very strange. Towbar is deffo gone though, sorry bud.
  14. Great to see your dedication ton this Aerodeck continues mate. Nice job on the projectors, they look sweet! Regarding the brakes, I had Black Diamond brake discs and pads on my 1.4 MA8 Civic and hated them! The pads used to suffer from brake fade regulary, and the discs warped very easily. This put me off the Black Diamond products, although that was a very long time ago so not sure if they have improved now? I haven't heard of Mikoda, but if they produce stuff for Brembo then I would think they must be a great product. I would look for reviews on them on the internet then male your choice based on that. Keep up the god work and lets ssee some more pics of your Aerodeck
  15. If I remember correctly Jamie, Honda did not fit the rear ARB to Aerodecks for some reason. Any that you do see have been retro fitted.
  16. Liking the calipers mate, looks same colour as DD's
  17. Going to be even more of a stunner than she already is mate. Love seeing our civics being pampered and cared for like this.
  18. Mega job! That should see her last for years mate! I really need to do this with both DD and Mindy. Love seeing this underneath a car, shows its been protected and cared for.
  19. Great progress mate! The leather makes such a difference. Makes it feel a lot newer and more upmarket doesnt it. Looks sweet in there now along with that steering wheel. I just did the front discs and pads on the mx5, got the rears sitting waiting. Always feels good to get new brakes on them bud! Keep up the good work!
  20. Sounds strange. One way to test would be to get another map sensor just to see if code still comes up. Rich from Dynodaze (used to be a moderator on here and now co owns Dynodaze) built a B20 Turbo, might be an idea to give him a shout as he knows all about turboing the B series and also mapping. His user name on here is civicturbo79 although might be quicker messaging him through dynodaze facebook (tell him Dave from civic5 sent you )
  21. Looking good mate, nice bit of work converting the headlights to projectors. Looks like it came from the factory. Be interesting to see what the light output is like compared to originals when fitted to the car. Looking forward to seeing this!
