Out for a run in Mindy today seeing as the sun was out! Came back and decided to get the 3 wheels that were done finally fitted. Still got 1 wheel and 3 centre caps to go into lacquer tomorrow then grt them all fitted. Love they way she looks with these done in white, kinda retro look. Still on the crappy tyres for now (managed to get most of the paint off them), new tyres after the year. Hope you like!

Are images uploading ok now mate? I'll have a look at the error logs when I get a chance and see what's going on. Might have been the host company carrying out server maintenance.

Unfortunately as of yesterday I'm gonna have to curb spending on the cars until after the year. So won't be getting the new tyres as quickly as we'd hoped. Might clean up those tyres just now so I can at least get the wheels on the car.

thought I'd take a quick photo of the almost finished wheels (3 finished, 1 still to go into lacquer and 3 wheel caps to go into lacquer) Ignore the tyres as these are getting binned Really pleased with them, the finish looks as good as new. Hope you like! Can't wait to get new tyres and get them fitted.

I've just been doing exactly the same thing, refurbing the wheels on the mx5! I went the opposite way though, wheels are now where! Lol That purple flip is amazing mate. You must be getting quite handy with the rattle fans as it's usually difficult to get the flip from a can. Finish looks sweet and love the mirror gold H's, goes perfect with the calipers! Top job!

And the restoration continues! Made a start on Mindy's original 5 spoke alloys last week, getting them fully sanded down, any damage removed as we went along. Finished pff with a wet and dry sand to get them super smooth. Some of the bad bits shown below. The wheels weren't too bad to be honest, considering their age. And sanded down/prepped. Also went over them with tack cloths to ensure nice clean surface for the pain. Insides of wheels also done (know you can't see this really once on the car, but my OCD makes me a fussy sod! Next, got them etch primed then into high build primer (looks like gloss in pics cos took photo just after applying paint!) Gave them 3 coats each. Then once that had dried, on with the colour of choice.......white! They were originally silver, but I love white wheels (when they're clean anyways!) and they seem to be a trade mark of my cars! Wheels look shiney, but this will dull down overnight. Then tomorrow it will be a case of on with the lacquer. The original centre cap badges were well past their best So tracked down some nice new ones.......in red to match her bodywork! Also done the centre caps in white as these were originally black.......plastic primed first, then one with the white. Much better! Again, these will be lacquered tomorrow. Really enjoying this, although forgot how much hard work it is refurbing wheels....that plus I'm not getting any younger! The fumes had a funny effect too even though I was wearing a mask. Will post pics once they are done and fitted to the car. The tyres are all being replaced with new ones as they are all odd ditch finders that are on them just now, and have signs of cracking.

You can get the proper tape from a body shop mate which should hold it. The other way would be to drill a couple of very small holes through it and the bumper, the use small rivets which will hold it permanently. You would then use a small amount of plastic filled to hide the rivets and paint over.

Bending it works just as well mate, those clips were really fragile even when new.

Looks tidy mate. Were the two screws under that wee cover hard to get out? Bit of a design flaw on our civics those, as they go straight through to outside of the floor so tend to be rusted solid! On the Rovers, they used 10mm bolts instead which were a bit easier to get out. Good idea to swap the screws for bolts and cover them in copper grease before refitting

You could spray the treated area with stonechip the underseal over it. Will be even more protection against road salt etc
-
Wire brush/scrape as much of the old stuff off mate, then treat area with rust treatment (kurust etc). Then paint with underseal. Should be good to go.
-
Possibly one of the exhaust heat shields? They're made from really thin tin that rusts away around the bolts.
-
That's a really nice finish from a can bud! Will need to get some to do some of the suspension bits on my mx5 (and DD!) Oh, and is your intake the plastic one like DD has or is it metal? Really want to do something with DD's as the black plastic looks pants!

Top work mate! What did you paint the arms with, looks good? Nice finish on them.

Jeese, that's worrying. If they've stopped producing/selling what is essentially just a service item which the oem hoses for our Civics are, what else will they be discontinuing? Try here mate: https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/honda/civic-vi-fastback-ma-mb/7818/10200/radiator-hoses Does state sold out but new shipment on the way. Might be worth a try?

Honda should still stock these mate, or you could upgrade to an aftermarket silicon set.

Wow!!!! That's impressive mate! Think Rich (civicturbo79) turbos mb6 was at around 340bhp, and DAVEMB2 has a K26 mb2 (NA) running around 370bhp. So that's a big figure you've got out of her! She also looks mint! Looking forward to more photos mate, really sweet mb6 that! Ps: we've also opened a new club called Future classic cars, for modern classics. Would love to see your mb6 on there too! Https://futureclassiccars.uk

The mudflaps were an optional extra unless higher up the range where they came as standard. Even some mb6's came without them.

Could be the handbrake mechanism on the calipers? Hard to say without seeing it, but try adjusting them as described above mate. Hopefully that'll work.
-
-
Sounds as though there is a problem at the rear calipers (if fitted) themselves mate. When adjusting the handbrake, you need to slacken the cables off completely, then (without the engine running and the handbrake off) pump the brakes pedal like you did before. After around 10 pumps, adjust the handbrake cables (still with the handbrake off). Adjust a bit at a time until you get the wheels locking on around 4 to 5 clicks. It's easier to do with the rear on axle stands so you can make sure the handbrake is even on both sides.

Unfortunately due to no interest we decided to suspend the comp mate. We did post up in the latest news and sent out an email advising everyone.
