  1. Not sure mate, I think Chandlers maybe going so might be worth giving him a buzz.
  2. Would have loved to go but unfortunately can't. Think there may be a few from here going, although we don't have a stand at the show so they will be going with other clubs etc.
  3. And she passed her MOT. Will be taking her shortly and getting her out and about again! So £36 plus the vat was pretty good going for a 20 year old car getting through the mot. She's done us proud once again. Love this car!
  4. Oh, and her mirrors are colour coded now (found out they were already colour coded but had been badly sprayed with some cheapy satin black paint. Bit of thinners and off it came! Isn't done in the photos above but is on the mini meet ones further up the page with Robins mk1
  5. Oh and the pics of Mindy's interior.......got the wood kit for the dash tombstone and centre console. Did a machine polish on her (clayed first) so she's looking shiney. Still badly want to respray her though!
  6. lol that's what Gayle said!!!! Must just be me that's paranoid! lol
  7. And Mindy sailed through her test! Mot guy said shes a good one. Only one advisory which was a small oil leak which i knew about but have yet to trace. Well happy with that!!! DD also passed her mot now, so both will be seeing some miles soon! Very happy bunny!
  8. Thanks mate! Well happy with them both. Mot time tomorrow!!! Mindy is to go in first, then DD in for her retest.
  9. Good to see you the other day mate, been a long time! Lol mb6 is looking good, and goes like s*** off the preverbial shovel! Damn now I miss Ruby again! She's deffo a totally different car to what you had before mate, love where you're going with her.
  10. Thanks Simon, yes she's coming together nicely. Should have had this done ages ago but with one thing and another she's been lying there in the garage for a year with nothing getting done. looking forward to driving her again!
  11. So, just a wee job done today! In the boot on the left side there is a metal panel that protects the fuel filler pipe. This is an unpainted panel, and as such has no paint to protect it so they rust. It's covered by carpet so nobody really bothers about it but you know me, it was bugging me where you could see it through the carpet. Off it came to get prepped. Sanded it done and treated any rusty bits. Sanded down rust treated and then 3 coats of primer Then 3 coats of red and refitted to the car. This was before I put the carpet back in place. Just think it looks neater. Oh, and a wee photo of Mindy and my Aerodeck (DD) MOT is now out so she will be getting booked in for this Wednesday.....fingers crossed!
  12. And the pictures of work done! New caliper fitted along with new brake pads (drivers side) suspension parts buffed with wire brush, rust treated and sprayed satin black Floor at front grinded with wire brush, rust treated then whole floor undersealed from front wheel arch to end of sills at rear. Still got rear end to do once I get a set of adjustable ramps. Oh and a wee shot of DD and Mindy together.
  13. That sounds more like a bad earth Jake or possibly the wee switch on the handbrake is iffy. Check its wiring too.
  14. Looks like that's becoming the bit to watch on our Civic M's. DD is the same mate, other than that bit (now all fixed) no rust anywhere. I still want to get the sideskirts off though at some point to have a check at the sills, although from what i can see they look decent.
  15. So she's back off the axle stands and ready for the retest mot. Brakes done, and also adjusted the handbrake as he'd said it was on the limits (but a pass). Suspension parts on the front (wishbones, drop links, subframe etc all treated with rust converter then sprayed satin black. Also, as she's going to be on the road daily now, I treated the alloys with alloy wheel sealer then went over them with a mild silicon spray and buffed it up. Should help protect the wheels from the rain/dirt/brake dust. She's looking good! Roll on Wednesday!
  16. Nice one Jake! Yes, got a compressor but just a normal spray gun. Will nip in to machine mart and buy the lance gun for undersealing. Have only done that bit on both sides then the floor from front arches to end of sills at the rear, but would deffo like to be able to spray up into all the wee bits you cant get to with a brush. Do you need to thin the underseal for spraying or is there a particular one for use on the spray gun? Know the parts place i got the underseal from also hand it in aerosol, but thought the cans wont go very far.
  17. That's looking sweet mate, love the VTi seats. As standard alloys go i think those ones are one of the nicer designs. What alloys you looking to get?
  18. Yeah, really strange bit to start rusting. It looks like theres a seam filler that dries out then lifts away, taking the underseal with it leaving the metal exposed. I'm gonna just refresh the whole underside with new underseal as I've had a good poke around underneath and she's amazingly clean and solid everywhere else from front to back. Good dose of the black goo will keep her that way!
  19. Will get some photos of the rusty bit and then all treated and of the new caliper fitted.
  20. Not much been happening in DD's world, but she's been off the road for almost a year now so thought it was about time to get her ready for the road again! Took her for her MOT on Wednesday and she failed on offside front caliper seized solid. To be fair, she was taken off the road because of the caliper so kinda expected that but wanted to see what else she would need. Turns out that's all she failed on! Had a chat with the tester about how she looks underneath and he said really clean, although she has started rusting in both front foot Wells where the seem is from the bulkhead. Said it wasn't serious, but left unattended it will rot. So got her back home and all jacked up. First job, off with the buggered caliper, then got the rusty bit cleaned up with the grinder. Slapped on some rust treatment stuff so it will stop anymore rust, and bought a tin of underseal. Have left the rust treatment to dry out for a few days so plan is to fit new caliper today then underseal the part i treated. Rest of the underseal/underside looks sound, although i am now going to get under her with the grinder/wire brush attachment and give her a good going over front to back, then fresh coat of underseal. Also gave some of the front suspension a brush up and going to respray them with satin black to freshen it all up. Was a bit of a shock seeing that rust. With her being lowered, i never see underneath her now unless she's jacked up, so again thinking maybe better going back to standard suspension so i can keep a check of things easily. Still, £36 for a caliper plus mot fee.......not bad for an old 20year old girl eh! On another plus point, im getting back to being able to do more work on the cars now. Still find it tiring but being able to do more each time which is making me happy. MOT for DD this wednesday then she's back on the road. Shes also getting put into daily driving duties fir the summer/autum. Will take the mini off the road and let DD get some miles under her belt. Next up, mot now out on Mindy our MX5!
  21. Theres deffo been one or two over the years mate just cant remember who! Kinda in two minds about doing this with DD, either flip out screen or double din conversion.
  22. Does it say in the owners handbook I wonder? Will need to look out DDs book, see what it says about the light in there. I was sure they weren't connected. Deffo didn't light up during abs fault.
  23. Know in DD when she had the faulty ABS sensor, it was only the ABS light that came on. Does the handbrake light not just double as a low brake fluid warning light? I'm 95% sure that's the only function of that light and it isn't connected to the ABS light mate.
  24. Wow. And like, wow!!!! She looks factory fresh mate, that shine is amazing. She's turned into a very sweet example of a VTiS. Loving this one!
