  1. Ah ok, I will have a go at that today as I still got a complete distributer from my old Civic. Obviously I will fit the new cap and rotor on it. Thanks! Ok I will look into it, cheers!
  2. When the green key light flashes, the engine doesn't crank. But after doing this a couple times, the engine then cranks but doesn't start
  3. That's right I remember now My Aerodeck paint is in very bad condition too. I cannot seem to get rid of the swirl marks even though I clayed it 3 times. It made me realize how mint my MB3 was. There was no marks on the body at all. Well, I hope you stick with your Civic but do what you think is right
  4. Does look smart mate. Some nice gun metal 15" alloys will set it off beautifully but it's not much point seeing as you might get rid of it. Would be a shame because I love this car. For some reason it reminds me of my old MB3. The times when you and I were in the same modifying stages haha
  5. I think my Deck has dropped somewhere around 70mm. The speed bumps are not all that bad in Cornwall but still hits the bottom front tow eyes. Loving the touch of chrome by the way
  6. I have posted on my project thread with this starting issue but thought I post in the right place haha. It's getting embarrassing because I'm a mechanic and I cannot solve the problem. Right so.. To those who don't know, I have a Honda Civic Aerodeck MB9 (D15Z8 engine) and in the past month the car won't start in damp mornings. I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor for a new blueprint one. Fitted, all well and good but the same thing occurs the next morning. The symptoms. Turn the key to start and sometimes the green light on the dash flashes. Only does it a couple times. Turn the key for the 2nd or 3rd time, the engine then cranks but doesn't start. I spray wd40 around the plug leads and distributor and still nothing. Sometimes I have to spray a bit of brake cleaner in the intake pipe to help it start. The car currently has 168'000 miles on the clock and I gave it a full service 4000 miles ago. I checked all the spark plugs are firing too. I have also checked the battery voltage (when cranking) and also plenty of voltage going to the starter motor. I'm going to check the coil next but I really cannot see how that would be the problem. Any help will be great, many thanks!!
  7. It could well be lambda as stated but it could also be loosing a bit of back pressure. 4-2-1 manifold, straight through center pipe and straight through back-box on a little 1.4 is a bit much I think. But I could be wrong
  8. Hello and welcome! Looking forward to seeing your new MB9! I also have a MB9 and they're awesome motors Now to answer your question, I have a D16Z6 manifold on mine too and it is a nice upgrade. You will get that nice pull in the higher rev range but might loose a bit of bottom end grunt (not much though) An exhaust system from a MB6/MC2 will fit but I personally think the exhaust diameter will be too large on the wee D15Z8 engine. You might loose a bit of back pressure but I am not too sure due to the fact I never fitted one. My current exhaust setup on the Aerodeck: D16Z6 exhaust manifold Center silencer delete (so all straight through) MGZS Longlife stainless steel back box Oh hope this helps
  9. You're not the first person to say that Tom haha. Pretty much everyone is talking me into it. Just working it out now, I can actually afford to do it and not sure whats stopping me. But in the back of my mind, it's telling me "Don't do it!"
  10. I try not to use finance on anything, I much rather buy so they're officially mine. Also if I go finance on one thing, I will go finance on everything
  11. Oh what a pain... all the usual Honda niggles. But I'm glad to see you're getting them sorted
  12. I read it completely wrong.... It says 'FROM' £12 a month It actually cost around £40 a month and that's without tyres. I really want these now but they're only available in 15x7 and offset is only ET40 http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=494&specs=Uk9ITTMtRDE1LVc3MC1QNDEwMC1FNDAtQ0I2NzEwLUdCUkVsUk9ITTMtRDE1LVc3MC1QNDEwMC1FNDAtQ0I2NzEwLUdCUkVsMTVsNy4wMGw3LjAwbDRsMTAwbE5sNDBsNDBsRGxEbGxsbDEybDEybDQ3Ni4wMGwxMTkuMDBsMTE5LjAwbDExOS4wMGwxMTkuMDA=
  13. Cheers lads, I actually like the steels as they are but I should have sprayed them up in gloss black to make it a bit more tidier. I am actually thinking about going for a brand new set of 16x7.5 ET10 Rota Grid Drift's sometime after Christmas. I was window shopping on the Rota website lastnight and I didn't know you can get these wheels on finance! I think it's something like £12 a month including tyres!!
  14. That looks better. I cannot stop looking at those 3 photos. Your deck sits so well!
  15. Looks like a good bit of poke there
  16. I have 15x7 on mine now. Close enough...........
  17. Thanks everyone! I fit a new cap and rotor and it's running absolutely spot on. Fires up straight away! The old cap had white streaks and barely had any terminal contact because it was so worn One of the alloys is being refurbished as it did look a bit beaten up (due to that incident with van a while back) so I thought it's a good idea to put the tyre's on the 15x7 steel wheels I have. I kinda like the look of them actually.... haha. You have to excuse the muck on the deck
  18. Damn I love those wheels! I really want a set for mine! Nice photos too mate
