  1. What emission "class" does the Mb6 belong to? i have 1997 model. I'm looking to buy a new universal catalytic converter. I need to know which kind is enough to pass the emissions. Some converters are for pre-obd-II etc. I'm not even sure if Mb6 is technically obd-II? Also do you guys in UK use Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 etc. class for emissions? My MB6 is a 97 so idk if its euro 2 or euro 3? Does any catalytic converter with o2 sensor fitment suffice?
  2. Greetings everyone. It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here civic5 related. Been a member on here since 2013 when I got my last Aerodeck before a tour in Afghanistan. I used to have that weird one off 2.0 Turbo Diesel Aerodeck back in the day. It was fun but dealing with Rover parts wasn't at all. Ever since I came back to America I the itch for another Aerodeck. There are plenty out there, but I wanted one in the Orleans Blue Pearl color, specifically the 1.8 VT-i version of the Aerodeck. I looked and looked and finally found one, but with one catch: the floorboards were totally rust-rotted out in multiple places. So, after I gave up on that idea, this 98 MB3 Aerodeck popped up. With the help of my wife we set up a meeting with the seller to seal the deal. 1998 Honda Civic Aerodeck MB3 1.5 VTEC, D15Z8 SOHC Orleans Blue Pearl 294,684 km on the vehicle and still drives smooth, but this thing was slammed to the ground. Picked it up on my last trip to Germany and now it’s parked at the in-laws waiting for the 25-year rule to ship it to the States. I got some nice plans for this car when it gets stateside. I hope the importing process isn’t a pain in the butt though.
  3. Greetings from a new member in London. It's good to know there are others interested in these cars. I have always liked the look of these. In my opinion, both the exterior and interior look a lot better designed than similar cars of the same era. I also know that the engines are extremely dependable if maintained. I live inside the area where the London Ultra-low Emissions Zone is due to be extended out to in Oct 2021. Unfortunately my current non-Honda car will not comply with this zone as it is too old. The age limit is after 1st March 2001 for petrols and after 2017 for Diesels. I am looking for an MB Civic on a Y Plate (after 1st March 2001) as that is the only reg that is new enough to comply with the ULEZ rules. I know there are a few out there as I have seen some for sale and on the road, but not many. So far, all that I have seen on Y plates have been the 1.4 Sport model with a manual gearbox. There are also some Aerodecks around on Y Plates. I regularly check ebay to try to track one down, but have not yet come across a decent one located near enough. I did go to have a look at one but was put off due to rust around the driver's side rear wheel arch. Hopefully I am able to eventually find the right one.
  4. Hi guys, thought I may as well make a thread for my little MB2 seeing as I'm here! Backstory - The car has been in the family from new. It belonged to my Great-Grandad to start with who then gave it to his son in law (my Grandad) who passed the car on to me in 2016 shortly before he passed away. I've only had my test passed for the last 14 months and so this is my first car! Therefore I'm trying to look after it the best I can and because there's so much that can be done modding wise, especially with it being the base model, it gives a lot of options. The car really hasn't done much mileage at all. I got the car on 80,000 and only sitting at just under 84,000 now. It's pretty standard, still on original steel wheels & ride height, got its fair share of scratches and slight dents but it shines up pretty well. The car has been reliable as hell for as long as I remember, so I'm going to just keep it going for as long as possible. I've really fallen in love with these MB Civic's and always had an admiration for Honda/older Civic's before this. In my ownership it has had the following repairs/slight mods with a lot more planned! - New standard exhaust back box because it completely blew through a couple months into driving it. - Full service in January this year, coolant etc last replaced in 2015 but low miles like I said - New Pioneer radio/CD player (went for CD not Bluetooth.. Yes I'm old fashioned!) - New wipers all round - New number plates - Original floor mats - VTI front lip (first thing I've ever sprayed up myself) - De-Chromed front grille (Vinyl wrapped) - Colour matched wing mirrors & door handles (One electric mirror wasn't working so took the chance to get rid of the black plastic all round) - VTI Carbon dash trim & gear stick surround - VTI Gear knob - VTI door tweeters (not wired in yet, got replacement door looms but can't unplug main connection so will have to cut into wires) - Wind deflectors - OEM mud guards/flaps fitted In the coming weeks/months things I should have done include front fog lights and something I've only seen one or two guys do, a Rover 45/MGZS boot lip spoiler. I'm just going to 3M tape this on once painted silver, because I also have a spoiler from a 1.4 sport that I need to finish painting and eventually get on. And I'm not really sure about having 2 spoilers haha! Also after a set of alloys, even the original 4x100 MB ones will do. Wouldn't mind getting a rear ARB on too eventually but need to mod/change lower control arms for that so it's a bigger job for down the line. Going to scrub away some rust and stone chip or underseal underneath & wheel arches in time for winter too. Seen some de-chromed headlights again recently and very tempted to buy some and do this myself! Thoughts and suggestions are very welcome & I'm glad to be on here! First couple pics are standard, last pic is how it looks now and one to show the test fit of the boot lip.

    Tyre Size

Hello everyone, I recently picked up some Civic Jordan alloys for my MB3 and got them refubished. I've checked the FAQ page for tyre sizes but I just wanted some clarification on weather or not 195/55/R15's would fit onto the MB3. Thank you.
  6. Does anybody know if you can fit the mg zs 180 rear arb to civic mc1 (non VTI aerodeck)? i woud have thoughtso, but id noticed that they dont come with the rear subframe brace or front strut brace, and the mounting points arent there to even fit one?

  10. Hi there, For many years I noticed that our Civic 5Dr MB2 ‘98 takes about 8 turns of the starter motor to start the engine when key is turned if you know what I mean. I always felt that’s too long and something must be up? I’ve recently replaced the distributor entirely but the slow starting is still there and I replaced the ignition leads probably 10 years ago and again that made no difference. the car has done 70k, could the slow starting be due to value clearances being out causing low compression? I don’t think it’s ever been adjusted. It’s still slow to start hot or cold though. thanks
  11. Hi all, I have a 5dr 98 Civic MB2. I was planning to do some mods but I couldn’t find any clear side repeater/indicator lenses for it for sale. Any ideas please? thanks
  12. I've just had my civic b18c4 swapped recently and I always thought my speedometer looked off. Has this been modified as I can't find another mb6 speedometer with red needles or is this some rare option?
  13. Hello just wanted to ask if anyone has been working with placing electric exhaust flap (or valve ?) on mb3 body with stock like exhaust.
  14. Hi ladies and gentlemen, I’m new to the forum. However I’ve owned a Honda since the day I passed my test, albeit a daily or a track car. I recently purchased an mb6 from a lady from the village I grew up in. The main reason for the post is to see if anyone knows how many white mb6’s were sold/are still about. Everyone I’ve spoken to has said they’ve never seen one in white

  16. Hi there! New to this forum, and new to the Honda-brand overall. Before I got the Aerodeck, I drove a Peugeot 206 GTI(NO, NOT THE 180!), unfortunatly the chassis of the 206 was en absolute wreck.. It had waaaay to much spots just to repair the bits and pieces, but I just didn't want to anymore... And as for the Aerodeck, it's underside is completely original and most of all..NO RUST! When I bought the car, is was totally stock, so I knew that no one ever messed with the car. Past few weeks I've been busy with modifying the suspention, wanted to put it as low as the roads here alow me to. And past weekend I customized my headlights together with a friend who builds custom headlights on order. Quite happy with the result, but still thinking what to do.. keep the 3000K Xenon in it, or going for a new set of 8000K Xenon, and then out yellow foil on the light-units themselves. Enough for the storytelling now, here are some pictures of my Honda Civic Aerodeck! (P.S. it has some spots and dents, but that's all gonna get fixed eventually!) Above; stock height|Down; coilovers mounted, rear was put at highest setting..xD.. Down; the work on customizing the headlights started! Too bad it was weird weather, one moment dry for 10 minutes, and before you knew it was pouring like hell. And it changed like that the entire day.... Above; just love the fog hanging in the lightbeam, gives it a bit of a "spooky" effect. Above; the day after the headlights were finished, gave the car a proper washing to check the headlights for any leaks or fog inside the units, and guess what, they're free of both! So far for the upgrades, but will definitely post more when the next parts/things are going to change!
