  1. I dont know if these 2 are related but today went out and heater didnt even come on at any speeds so i thought yeh heater resister it must be....ive replaced one in previous civic and its easy i know, although that was cos it didnt work on speeds 1 & 2 more commonly but this time its gone completely. Whats more worrying to me now is and im hoping its nothing major, is that later that day i went in the car wash and noticed the temp needle very slowly creeps up past the normal half way mark.... at first i really thought my eyes are playing with me but later i tried again by letting it idle and it did the same thing again. I checked the lower and upper hoses and they were both hot so not sure wat this is but please tell me this is just a bad thermostat?? Or is the failed heater causing this... Any help appreciated want to sort this soon my cars very well looked aftered all its life so bit worried. Thanks
  2. Hello Any idea if these rover fogs will fit into my mb1?
  3. I would like your wisdom, *Thought I'd put this here rather than in SOS, as this is more like a discussion and sharing of experiences* So for context, got my MB2 1.4 around this time last year and straight away I was thinking about modding, but I decided to have patience and restricted myself and kept it all stock excluding the steering wheel and seats. It's been a trooper of a car, but now this is where the fun begins. Originally I wanted to do a K swap but then I matured and realised I was in over my head, so now the plan is to source a D16Y8 SOHC VTEC, and swap that in, then turbo it. I currently have a D14A8 SOHC non-VTEC. So I just want to get input of the good people who know a lot more than me: - I'm assuming since I'm swapping in another SOHC D series engine, it should be pretty straight forward, however I still have questions such as what other components can I keep and what else I would need to replace (such as the ECU). - If anyone is adept with turbo-ing d series I would love to know what kits are good (I know ebay ones have gotten better but you can tell me if any are worth it), or if you put together your own kit then what the shopping list was. Also I would more than welcome suggestions of trusted professionals who can help without ripping me off (I am based in Chatham, Kent) - And if you have a d series turbo build I would love to hear about the power gains, reliability and cost (time and money). D16Y8 is approx 125hp, and with a turbo I would aim to get this to 210 - 230hp, please let me know if this is reasonable or crazy and what would be more realistic to expect from a daily driver turbo build. I'm also aware that (when turbo-ing) that I would need to upgrade the intake and exhaust too and would welcome recommendations. And if you want more topics to dive into, I would appreciate suggestions of good upgrades to my brakes for the power I want to make, and let me know if I would only need to upgrade components such as the pads or if it would be necessary to upgrade the whole thing. Overall I just want to find the most cost effecitve way to make my car more fun and also reliable, can't wait to hear your guys' experiences You are all much appreciated.
  4. Evening All, Just bought (Not collected yet) my first MB6. I have owned various Hondas over the years 3 EK's, 1 CRX Del Sol and an FN2. Im looking forward to something different. No proper pictures yet. I am a detailer based down in Somerset, so its going to be a long term project and I may improve it a little but most importantly is it looks clean. Any suggestions for some initial improvements? Handling etc? Can you get suspension kits as opposed to having to go coilovers? Any suggested tuning places to have it mapped in time? I used CPL racing many many years ago. Cheers all, pictures to follow!
  5. Hi, just wondering if mb3 and 6 shocks and springs are the same? As in height rate etc
  6. Hello guys, few questions. my 2000 mb2 1.4 engine decided to go bang... I need some help or some pointers for a engine swap. ive searched everywhere for answers and found nothing relating to my needs. what would I need for a b18c4 engine swap into a mb2? would the mb6 dash loom work or would I have to slice up an mb2 loom with the mb6 to make do etc? I know what else I need gear linkages, mounts etc just electronic side of things. many thanks
  7. Hi folks i have bought rover 400 door cards because mine are sagging and the back one is damaged, i like the rover ones better, because they have the trim all around the interior, and i like the look of it, just might wrap the trim but not sure in what color/effect would suit best on the long run. Now i wanted opinions on what color/type of fabric will suit best for my door cards, later ill be doing the headliner too but for now its just the doors.pics would be awesome Also opinion in which wrap should be used for the trim, if anybody has some custom interior i would love to see pictures. Mb6 has carbon inserts, anyone can show me how it is the look? i wonder if it will make the car fill too dark inside with the carbon...i got this new projects but i really need second opinions cause they will be somewhat permanent changes. be safe, peace out
  8. Saw this YouTube video and an Aerodeck had a cameo roll; Skip video to 7.59 for Aerodeck!
  9. Hi there i tried to find the info for my tyre pressure everywhere but i get different opinions. At the tyre shop they said should be 2.5 BAR FRONT AND REAR, on the internet i found saying should be 2.0 bar front and 1.8-2.0 rear. My car has 14" rims and the tyre size is 175/65/R14 I would love to know the pressure honda recommended when the car was put together buu my car as already been painted and i have no sticker on door jam so i´m lost Also wanted to ask if our MB civics have rear wheel covers on the inside wheel arc facing back, cause my rear left wheel arc seems to have a plastic cover but on the other side doesn´t, not sure where i can get one or even if its missing or not. Thanks in advance

  13. Hi new here on the group thought it introduce myself and show you my mb civic, I had a Mb6 vti last year posted it on this group but sadly it had to go as a baby was on the way and didn't think I could afford it, bought a Mk4 golf, but straight away I hated it, was told of this little civic the same colour as my old vti and that was that, the old man I bought it off wanted 300 pound for the car aslong as he could have the number plate back, I went up To buy the car on my birthday and he was talking away and he said to me if you sort out taxing and insuring the car so I can get my number plate back pay me for all the parts I have for the car and take the car, so the car cost me 120 pound couldn't believe it, the parts I got with the car were: Honda access headlight protectors! Vtis side skirts Vtis rear lip Vti front splitters x2 Vti spoiler Vtis mats Brand new headlights So I stuck to my word motd the car etc and I had sat up. For 3 years and it passed mot first go and all I done was put an indicator bulb in the car So the car when I bought it with the parts
  14. I want to introduce my lovely Pirat Black MB2. I bought it from the scrap yard for 300€. No working brakes,no working suspention,nothing...except the engine...the engine was like a new one.1,4 90hp 90k km. I startet with the brakes and the bushings. All new ones. So...The brakes was the first thing. New discs with new pads and two new calipers. The suspention was on second place. New bushings kit from Energy Suspention for the whole suspention. Koni shocks. I drived 70 000 km for two years. After that i take a desision that i have to change something with the engine. I read a lot of things about the minime set up(D14 block with Vtec head) But one sunny day a friend of mine send me a photo from a Del Sol(show off car) with only 70k on the clock. The engine-D16z6,the price 800€.Only the engine, the doors and the plastics of the car were not rotten.I boight the whole car for 800€ So i deside to put the engine in my car. Someone told me that is plug and play. Aaaaaaand it was not. I rewire the whole cables from the engine to the ECU. That was such a fun. But at the end it all went good. After that i thought that i could make some changes in the interior of the car. I put beige seats from Rover, black roof from alcantara(self made with my wife),arm rest from VTI I want to apollogise for my bad english. Be save and kick the vtec till the end
