  1. Have a look at Huberts project thread mate (our October Car of the Month) as he had his done in gloss black. It's easy enough to do, as long as you're careful when sanding down the bumper ones. I'd use a plastic primer first because as plastic flexes, normal primer will crack/flake off, Use plastic primer and it will give the paint a really good surface to stick to.
  2. Deffo try a new cable mate! Once these wear out, it's almost impossible to get them moving freely again. Have a good look around the throttle body, maybe get someone to press the accelerator whilst you have a look, see if you can pin point whats sticking.Might be an idea to disconnect the throttle cable and move the throttle manually to see if it still sticks, as this would rule out/ rule in the cable itself as being the cause.

I'm up for that! Always thought it was crazy that the mb6 etc got an LSD but the EP3 didn't, just didn't make sense! Would love to feel what the difference is mate, bet it's a real hoot on the twistys and roundabouts now! Also agree with the EP3 being a proper drivers car, so much more raw than the FN2. Really enjoyed the drive in yours (and still blame you for me getting that induction kit! lmao )
  4. Did you get this sorted mate? If not, deffo check the earths to the headlights, as poor earth will almost certainly give this problem. And if you can get a test meter, do check what voltage is coming out at the connector for the lights. Could also be the connectors themselves are corroded inside, giving a bad connection. Try a good quality bulb such as Osram Night breakers (but don't buy from ebay, as it's full of cheap fakes!). I had these on Ruby my MB6 (and the current owner has replaced them with the same bubs again when they finally blew) and the light output from them is superb. The MB/MC lights aren't the best in the world tbh, but I noticed a huge improvement with those bulbs.

Has to be the NSX, although I ain't been lucky enough to drive one yet. Used to love the integra dc2, but not sure I'd want one now. Having driven both the EP3 (krzys one) and my own fn2, I can't pick between them. I loved them both, but for totally different reasons. Have to say though, I did hit 149mph in the fn2 recently at the track! It was still pulling but I freaked at the speedo and backed off! Lmao
  6. Rover/MG ones won't fit our M's unfortunately. The red and clear ones are standard on facelift Civic Mb's and Mc's mate, but the red/smoked are custom. Remember too that the Aerodeck lights won't fit the hatchback. Easy to do the custom ones though
  7. See, the problem with the Civic M's is that the shell actually flexes a bit depending on where it's parked/on the move. I had the same problem with the MA8, it leaked if I parked it right at the front of the drive due to the camber on the drive, but if I parked if further back, on the level bit, it was fine. So I'm assuming that although you managed to seal it when it was parked, it's managed to create a minute gap again once on the move. I found that if mine was parked with the front on an uphill bit, but the rear on the flat (my drive was so uneven back then!!) that was when it broke the seal round the window. So try and find somewhere with that kind of gradient, or, if you can, park it on a slight (very slight) downhill slope and then jack the front up slightly. This will give the same kinda effect my drive had on mine. Then go around the screen with a really good sealant. I'd deffo go for tiger seal mate, as a lot of the other silicon sealers just come away from the painted surface easily. Tiger seal won't
  8. Loving the detailing you've done mate, makes an already superb car stunning! Especially liking the gloss black detailing, really makes the door handles and bump strips look minty fresh. Think I might try this with DD. Top work fella!
  9. Great bit of info Tom, especially showing how far back the Honda/Rover relationship goes. I was at college earlier when I replied but home now, so will have a look and see if I can find any of the Civic M/Rover 400 specific stuff I had from the last time. Had some early video footage of the pre-release civic aerodeck so would love to find that again and create a new page for us.
  10. Correct @dr broon as had it on our old website, but most it during the upgrade. I'm working on a new one so will upload it soon
  11. lol I know Krzys, just thinking about other customers who may not be so clued up as us. They'd probably take it as gospel that they have to use those tyres. I'd be chopping them in for Conti's or GoodYears when they needed changing.
  12. I've been in and saw it twice now. It does look a lot better in the metal than in the photos, but to me Honda have stupidly "flawed" it. They decided to make the new TypeR a 5 door, so it's more practical and suited to everyone. Then why oh why.........................only 2 seatbelts in the rear?????? What the hell is the point of making it a 5 door (and therfore heavier) if it's only gonna be a 4 seater. Seems totally nuts to me. The FN2 is the same.........only two belts, but the TypeS has 3. Them tyres! Designed and made specificaly for the new TypeR, *Honda recommend and advise not to change these for any other tyre, because they are specific to the car and it's handling. They cost around £300-£400 each, and you get 6000 miles out of them! So reckon on at least £1200 a year on tyres if you drive the uk average of 12000 miles a year. Oh, and dealers have been advised to inform new owners that the car can be dodgy in the wet! Due to said tyres being designed for dry roads (and a certain dry road in Germany at that!) they are more like road legal slicks. So customers are being advised that if driving on roads that have a fair bit of surface water, the car WILL aquaplane! They build the car in Britain, for British roads, British weather and the car is dodgy in the rain/wet conditions??? FFS, we have rain most of the year in the UK!! Christ knows what it would be like in the snow then!! Having been in the new TypeR, it's nice yeah, but doubt I'll be buying one. Maybe in a few years time when they reach sensible money, but not now. * Honda obviously will have some deal going with Pirelli so will want to keep customers buying that tyre
  13. Very common fault mate. It can be from either around the windscreen, or the sunroof drains, or the drain channels on the roof itself. Most common though is the windscreen. You need to carefully take off the trim around the windscreen (on the outside) then, starting from the bottom, work your way up the screen till you spot the leak. It's time consuming and a pain, but once you know where it is, its easy enough to fix. Or just silicon round the whole screen, but use good quality sealer. Tiger seal is really good!
  14. A hundred quid?? Jammy! That's gotta be a bargain, especially as it passed its MOT! Looking forward to seeing the mods guys!
  15. Check out DAVEMB2 K26 MB2 mate, as he has camber kit on this. As said above, go for a quality one, not one of the Ebay specials which are known to be weak.
  16. Always looks stunning Simon, love your deck! Can't believe she's got that mileage on her! Still going strong!
  17. Best bet is to get it straight from Honda imo mate. I shopped around for a decent battery, and found that the OEM Honda battery was cheaper than aftermarket ones (which surprised me!). Plus that way, you know you're getting exactly the right battery for it
  18. My deck is on MiesterR's so not much help I'm afraid. Think most here are on coilovers, although know that there are deffo some on konis.
  19. Congrats on the new house and garage! Double garage ftw!!! Liking this accord mate, get some new rims for it soon! Will look sweet! I've got the connects 2 kit in my FN2, all plug n play, good bit of kit.
  20. Alright chaps and chapesses! As most of you will know, Gayle and I have been together for a while now, and the time has just flown by. Well, watched the Cockenzie Power Station chimneys came down which was a big event for our wee part of Scotland, from Gayles bedroom window. Perfect view! Both Gayle and I grew up around the area, and the famous landmark has always been a part of our lives, so was kinda sad to see them coming down. Straight after that, we had a wedding to go to, and when we were at the reception that night, live band playing, drinks flowing and everything just perfect, I plucked up the courage........................................and proposed to Gayle! Lucky for me she said yes!!! lol It seemed so right to get engaged on such a memorable day. So we're now officially engaged. It's a massive step, but one I know is right. I had the darkest time of my life after losing Dawn, thinking I'd never be happy or with someone again. But Gayle came into my life and she's been such a rock, really helping me through everything, and showed me that life is for living. I know Dawn will be looking down smiling, and would be so happy that I've found someone so genuinely nice, caring and loving. We both feel so happy right now, and life's good! Not too sure on a date yet, as we both have a lot going on with Uni/College, but as long as we're together, that's all that matters. Can't believe we're going to be getting married! Just wanted to share the news with all our friends here on Civic5
  21. I think the best way to cure it would be to get some grease, and grease the mechanism (return spring etc) on the throttle body where the cable joins onto it. You'll find the grease makes it work more smoothly, as the oil tends to thin out as it runs elsewhere. Hopefully, that should cure it. If not, then check the entire cable incase it's getting snagged somewhere, as even the slightest kink in the cable will affect it. If the cable looks ok, then have a look at the end where it goes onto the accelerator pedal. Even though its only happened since cleaning the bay, it could be a coincidence so best to check at the pedal too. Hope this helps bud
  22. This just keeps getting better and better. Rear lip really does change the look of the MB's eh! They should have come standard with the kit on, although that would kill our modding fun! I'm still contemplating fitting the rear lip and sideskirts to DD, had them sitting there for years! lol
  23. Surely not another all deck cotm?? Come on peoples, get submitting your favourite Civic M's!
  24. lmao True, but sometimes still regret selling Ruby (again!) The deck is here to stay though that's a promise! Soooo many reasons not to sell DD ever. Funny, even though shes not fast, still love driving her more than Roxy (although Roxy does have the fun factor!). But the deck just ticks all the boxes............comfortable, smooth, practical...................and looks like nothing else on the road! Thats the beauty of the decks!
