    arb query for mc1

@dr_broon @MC2woNo, only the vti/VTiS aerodeck/5 door hatch got the rear arb. None on DD sadly. On the plus point, 2 less drop links to go wonky and need replaced lol
  2. nice bit of work youve done mate to save her. Cant beat a civic earodeck eh!

sweet pre facelift civic m mate. whats the front lip you have on there?
  4. @Pipo Pretty common issue on these mate. You can adjust the window from inside the door once you take the trim panel off. Been a while since I did it so can't remember off the top of my head what it is you need to do (you should be able to see all the bolts for the window channel and also the two that hold the glass to the mechanism). Pretty sure I loosened off the bolt on the glass and lowered the rear of the glass down so it didn't jump out of the runner when near the top (assuming yours is jumping out of the runner towards the rear of the front door?)
  5. Reminds me of DAVEMB2's mb3 that he still runs as his daily even now..
  6. In that case then yes, braided lines and also maybe switching to DOT 5.1 brake fluid. Would have to totally drain the brake system of all old fluid, flush through then fill with the dot 5.1. The higher boiling point helps a lot with brake fade etc. How you finding MTec discs over standard discs?
  7. @SaTaNeAtChEeSe Yes, Jake's right, 98 spec is basically the same as our vti spec, the 96 spec ITR would be a downgrade imo. Are you using the car on the track a lot or just the road? Cheapest bang for buck upgrade would be to try performance brake pads from the likes of EBC (or any other performance brand) in your current set up. I would replace the discs for oem ones with new performance pads......you might be surprised at the difference.
  8. Soz, only just noticed this post mate! I would deffo go with the OEM Honda ones every time. Yes, any part with Honda on it costs a lot more, but the stuff is genuinely much better quality than aftermarket parts. Do it right (use oem) do it once. Do it with aftermarket parts, start flipping that coin! lol

    Wheel size

@Patrix Is your car lowered by just lowering springs or adjustable coilovers? If its the adjustable one, I'd recommend turning the button on the shock/damper to a stiffer setting. This should eliminate the issue you have when cornering.

    Wheel size

Hi Mate, think I can se the problem! When new, fitted with 15's, these civics had 195/55 x 15 tyres on them on standard suspension. You have gone up a profile size (so essentially making the wheel/tyre bigger than it normally is, then lowered it which alters the geometery of the suspension, hence why you're getting tyre rub. See this guide here >>> FAQ About Honda Civic M's - FAQ - Civic5 Honda Civic MA/MB/MC owners club To explain things further, and to help make sure you choose the right wheel oiffset/tyre combo, see this link here >>> Wheel Offset and tyre calculator - Brakes and alloys - Civic5 Honda Civic MA/MB/MC owners club There's a couple of links in there that help explain things better
  11. That is stunning! Looks like it just rolled out of the factory, superb job you've done there mate. Regarding the hood for the civic......I think you'll struggle to find one. I Had the pre-facelift civic M (see my thread "wee Blue Betty) over 13 years ago, and tried to source a second hand hood for her as the original was rusted. Took me over 3 years back then to find one! On saying that, you do have better weather in your country/no salt on the roads so might be there are a lot more have survived the rust than over here. Even seeing a pre facelift in this country now is rare! Been over 2 years since I saw one here!
  12. Have to say that little Starlet is a stunner too and mega rare now.
  13. Welcome to the club mate. That's a stunning pre-facelift Civic you have. That model really is becoming rare! Loving the mods you've done, sits really nicely and agree, engine bay and that airbox mod look amazing! Really loving that airbox!
  14. Only got a couple of pics so will try and explain it! Oh and its 3 bolts, not 2 lol So you need to remove the ashtray/lighter unit from car You will also need to add a spacer/packing between the cupholder and the ashtray unit. I used hard foam from the box my DD head unit came in. Oh and you need to trim the rear lip of the ashtray unit off (can see the rough cut I did here, i did then trim it all neatly!) This sits up against the rear of the wee cubby tray at bottom of dash, so without trimming it the cupholders won't allow the ashtray unit to go back in place. The cupholder has mounting points at the front. Sadly, the way the ashtray unit is, you can only use one of those holes. Drill a hole in the ashtray unit inline with where the cupholder front mounting point is (this is on the same side as the lighter. On the ashtry side the hole aligns with void so can't be used. Secure the cupholder to the ashtray unit using longish but small diameter bolts, one at the front and two at the rear. One of the rear ones needs a hole drilled (and countersunk so the screw clears the drawer when it opens/closes), the other has the countersunk hole (you'll see it easily once the cupholder is open) we spoke about earlier.
  15. I drilled a small hole through the bottom of it to countersink a screw. Theres one countersunk hole already there, so used that along with the one I drilled. Used two small (but long) bolts to fix it to the underside of the ashtray/fag lighter unit/panel. You need to remove the whole centre console and then remove the ashtray bit so you can position it and drill the holes. Sure I took photos when doing it, will check my phone mate.
  16. I know, mental aint it! I mean even storage wise, the M's are sadly lacking, but to not even have a solitary cup holder was madness!
  17. Nice to see you having a go at removing the dents yourself mate. DD has some very small carpark ones that she has picked up over the years that I'd love to have removed. Great little line up there of Civic M's! Always love to see groups of our Civics in other parts of the world meeting up, and yes, its the same over here as most people don't know what a civic aerodeck is when they see it lol Your civic is looking ace mate, loving it!
  18. Thanks mate! Hahaha, wouldn't mind a turbo tbh, have see a few with it and they are like shit off a shovel! But tbf, although she's not the fastest car on the planet, I have so much fun driving her. The FN2 I could only use not even half the power it had, whereas this I can use most of it and have a ball, and most of the time be within the speed limits even when ragging it! lol
  19. Deffo mate, have had messages on here and on FB and my phone from members itching to get a civic5 meet on the go. Simon and Gav are deffo up for coming up as spoke to them a few weeks ago, and Jordan that has the VTiS aerodeck just along the road from our old house messaged me just yesterday to ask when are we having one! lol Gayle said the same on the way back, we need to get this organised soon. Once we know where we stand re covid restrictions we'll get on it, see who's all up for it. Be sooooo good to see all our old friends and also meet some of our new members too. Every meet in the past has been awesome so hoping that theme will carry on.
  20. So, weather was fair today so we decided to go for a run in Mindy our wee MX5. Went our usual run towards Innerlethen and the Yarrow valley, and out over the moors. At the end of the road there's this wee pub/hotel called the Gordon Arms Hotel in the middle of nowhere, so seeing as it was lunchtime anyways and we'd always said we'd love to try it out, we popped in for lunch. Had there Gordon arms burger, which was amazing!! Then we left the pub and normally would turn left back towards Yarrow/Selkirk/Galashiels, but decided to turn right and see where it took us. 5 mins from the Gordon arms, we turned right.............any of our long standing Civic5 Members recognise where this is? No? Ok......what about now? Getting warmer........ok, how about now Yup! St Marys Loch!! One of the best ever Civic5 meet venues! Thats the big carpark we normally take over (see pics below!) Happy times those! Can't believe we ended up at St Marys loch! We came in for the side the meet usually exits, so did the run backwards! When we first drove along the road (before we found the layby), I said to Gayle I'm sure I recognize this road! Then said, hang on! If theres a layby on the left round this corner, its the St Marys loch road! Sure enough, there it was. We decided to do the run backwards then cut off and head for home instead of heading to Dalkeith. Ended up in rain (yes, hood stayed down!) and then brightened up before eventually hitting torrential rain (too right, hood went up quick as hell! lmao ) So surprised to find that the run is litterally 25 mins from our front door! Used to take us ages to get there from the old house! We love where we live now!!!! Tis awesome! 21. Few photos from our wee run in the borders to St Marys Loch and Megget water. Saw 3 other MX5's on our travels (2 mk4's and a mk2) and also stopped on the narrow bit of single track road to allow a 4x4 to come through, only for it to stop alongside us, the woman driving it rolling down here window and with a huge smile saying excitedly "I used to have one of those!!"
  22. Cheers mate! yes, had a wee drive out last night to see how effective the wind breaker is and have to say, much improved! well chuffed with the new bits!
