That'll look so much nicer mate!

Gotta have a garage mate! We were lucky that this house already has a single brick garage, but although its long (over 19ft) its only wide enough to park your car in, not wide enought to work on it. Well, not easily anyways! So once the new ones built it'll be cool having the two! Not quite as good as what I had with the double garage, but it'll do nicely!

That is sporty mate, looks like a GT? Can just see the badges on the rear quarters, unless he just put them on? -
Yeah, was incredible the amount of crap under it, was like thick solid mud! So glad she's now water tight again, one less thing to worry about! Means I can get back to using her again as she's been hiding in the car port since the leak started. Not that I've actually gone anywhere since the last lockdown started!! Never really leave the village at the moment tbh. Can't wait to get the new garage built, want to give DD a wee front end respray as she has loads of stone chips on the VTiS splitter and bonnet. Bumper is still like new though! (although it was replaced a few years back with a brand new one so maybe that's why lol)

Nice, looks spot on with the Mk2 Rostyles on it, one of my fav ever wheels! -
That's awesome mate, good to know. I might buy some just to have them there for if they're needed. Going to start building up a wee supply of spares I think as parts are going to get hard to find for these cars.

So, finally got around to fitting the Halo dashcam and hardwire kit today. The wiring kit was really decent, easy to install. Got the dashcam all hooked up and working perfect. Good thing is its really small, so not really that noticeable from outside. Cheeky wee pic now she had been washed and new cam fitted! Unfortunately, due to a wee fault with her Juke, Gayle had to use DD to go to and from work, so she's all bloody dirty again! lol Good thing is, we had torrential rain up here, so that, and along with me giving her a good wash after fixing the leak, she's nice and dry in the footwell! Wee pic of the Halo

So, unfortunately DD developed a rather bad leak into the drivers front footwell. Noticed it after I had gave her good wash, the whole footwell was literally swimming in a pool of water. Got the mat out, removed the trim and pulled back the carpet. Took absolute hours to get all the water out and wring out the carpet which was saturated. Got Gayle to start with the hose, spraying a little water at the bottom of the screen and working our way up to the top and onto roof. No sign of where it was getting in at all!! So, speaking to DAVEMB2 one night on the phone, and he mentioned that there is a big hole beneath the scuttle panel trim that is open and goes straight into the heater. It only has a small lip around it, so maybe water coming in there. Got the trim all removed, and sure enough, there is this huge hole and you can actually reach in and spin the fan on the heater! See the pics below. The pic above shows the location of the hole. The scuttle panel above overhangs the hole, and normally the water wouldn't go in/drip down into the hole. Unfortunately, there was 22 years worth of mud/grime built up in the lip on the scuttle, meaning it was level with the top of the lip. The pic above shows dirt, but I was half way through cleaning it so it was way worse than this! Water was able to go straight into the heater and along the pipes to drivers side! There's a flap of metal to the front of the hole which I assume is to stop the water splashing into it. The scuttle lip sits so that it is just inside the lip. I've bent that flap slightly towards the hole, meaning any water that does go over the top lip will just run off the flap and into the drains as it should do. Spent ages with cleaning stuff and a Henry hoover cleaning all dirt and crap out. This pic below shows it cleaned, and the flap now bent back towards the rear of the car. And finally all done. The bits that look rusty are actually the factory sealant. One thing I was glad of is that when removing the scuttle trim, the actual scuttle and bulkhead are absolutely rust free. Not a single bit of rust there! I was a bit worried with the leak, as thought the bulkhead may have rotted away out of site beneath the trim. Jims Rover 400, which looked mint, was rotten in there when he got the windscreen replaced, which was the reason he got rid of it. Same year as DD too! Glad to say she's mint in there! I've also sprayed the entire scuttle area with silicon spray to keep the water off it. Hopefully this will keep her rust free in there for years to come.

The car that I really really wanted when I was learning to drive
Dave replied to dr_broon's topic in Chat Lounge
The car I wanted when I past my driving test was a mk3 Ford Cortina 2000E! Those were the car to have back in my youth, along with the mk2 Escort. Sadly, Couldn't wait till I past my test so went and bought a lovely white mk3 2000E before I even got my license! Couldn't drive it legally so my big bro used to take me out for a spin in it, deal being he got to use it to go to work lol. Had a mk2 Escort too, which I stupidly drove before passing my test and got caught! Years ban before I even had my license, not something I'm proud of, just wanted to drive!!! So, car I always wanted (and got!) (photoshopped the number plate from mine onto it!) -

Loved the Orion 1.6 Ghia injection. You had a Ghia injection, you were the envy of your mates.Likeing the dealer fitted RS bodykit on that one too! My dad had a mk1 Orion in diamond white, was an awesome car. Not a Ghia though, but still looked sweet. Unreliable as hell though! Had so much trouble with the carb on it (RAC guy even said it was a design fault of the carb itself) where it used to cause a back pressure then the car would stop. Got it fixed eventually though. I'll see if i can find a photo of it. One of my best friends had the Orion Ghia injection, was so envious! And the car he traded in for it.......MK2 Fiesta XR2 in rosso red. Loved that wee car soooo much, but I didnt have the pockets to buy one then! Deffo no got the pockets now! You seen how much anything old with a Ford badge goes for nowadays! -
No problem at all mate, you're welcome. The list was put together by our members so should be pretty accurate. Do you know who it was you spoke to at Dynodaze? Was it Rich Ellis? If so, Rich does know his stuff when it comes to Civic M's as he had one of the first B20 Turbo mb6's in the forum. I'm almost certain that it's mostly the EK stuff that doesn't fit or Civic M's though. Integra is based on the EG Civic, and most of the Intergra stuff fits ours (depends on year of Integra though)

Just looked at that thread and it appears the DC2 integra does have same LCA's (or at least they fit our civics)

Not really sure to be honest mate. I know you can fit MGZS front springs/dampers but the fork needs modding to get the height right, @noodels did this mod to his. So thinking that the MGZS LCA's may fit (but might require modding?) but not sure on any actual gains using them over OEM Honda ones. Would the DC2 LCA's be the same fit I wonder? Plenty A/M stuff available for them so that might be worth a look into. Have a look through the following thread as it may shed some light on it for you. I like! Always thought the 1 series was a cracking looking car from the start, and can look really sweet with a few tasteful mods. Bet the torque's nice! The mpg itself will more than justify it as a daily mate. It's the one thing I miss about the MINI, it was absolutely amazing on fuel. Got about 360 to 370 from a full tank, but the tank was tiny. Think the most it ever took to fill it was £41 (and yes I moaned as it normally took an average £36 between fill ups with what was left in the tank lol ) DD is same engine size, less power than the mini and loves a drink! Not sure what she does now to a full tank but yes around £60 to fill her and don't think she even breaks the 300 mile mark! Also with a kid on board, you're wise to go for something safer as a daily too. Although the decks were safe fot there era, compared to moderns now they feel lethal! The TypeS and TypeR I had had front/side /rear airbags, and were really safe in a smash, same with Carly Cooper. I kinda miss that safe feeling, deffo feel more vunerable driving the deck, and terrified driving the mx5. Know that if we have a smash in that, it aint going to be pretty. DD will be replaced as the daily again at some point, but probably a long way down the line from now. Bet that Beemer is fun in the snow!! lol What's the plans for this one?

I decided I'm not gonna be buying any more consoles. TBH, I only bought the xbox one because Paul (bladerider) had 3 xbox360's fail on him so wouldn't buy another and went for the xbox1. Meant I had to get one too otherwise couldn't play him. I was happy with my 360 (which I sold to my mate over 4 years ago and is still going strong!), loved Forza 3 and 4, and gta. I feel when they progress, they loose some of the best features of the games. F5, F6 and F7 don't have the Customizable public lobbies and Turn 10 won't bring them back even though everyone has asked for them. F6 was pretty poor imo, graphics were only slightly better than F4, but game play wasn't as good as F4. F7 so far seems to be really decent, graphics are nice and easy enough to make money in single player mode. Got some nice design packs in the making at the moment and also a couple of tunes I'm working on. But yeah, XboxOne is my last console, no buying any more lol
-
I had the PS up to PS2 (loved my old ps2) then switched to xbox360 then now xbox 1. Need to set up two race nights then, one for xbox one for ps
-
Excellent mate! I just got F7 so have been playing offline, building up $$$$'s and creating tunes/decal packs etc. Will do the same as I di9d before and see if I can get tunes done, then post them up here for members to copy onto their cars (F6/F7 doen away with being able to gift tunes and decal packs, so least i can put the tunes here to avoid members having to use their credits in the game )
-
Just wondering if any of you still play Forza on Xbox1 and what version you play? Know Ali (burbleboy) is on F7 so going to be racing with him soon lol. Anybody else on F7 or F6? Might be time to start the old Civic5 race nights again seeing as we're all stuck indoors just now. They were awesome fun in the past, anyone up for it? Some photos from the last one we did back in 2012!

Bloody snow! Can hardly see Mindy!! Why can't it just be spring time now!!
-
Need to update your profile bit lol. Intermittent starting could be the ignitor in the dizzy. My mb6 suffered this, although it was usually once she was up to temp.
-
Hi Jim. Is this a 1.5 sport, or a 1.4 or 1.6? If 1.4, it doesn't have vtec. When the starting issue arises, is it when the engine is stone cold, or after it's up to normal operating temp? It's hard to determine from the symptoms you've listed, but more than likely it's electrical (and possibly still something to do with the dizzy)
-
Look up performancetek honda jazz..........guy up here who owns performancetek (Gerry Brady who did Dave and Sarah's K26 conversion on the MB2) did the first uk k20 swap in a Jazz......then supercharged the bugger!!! lol Amazing car! He's amazing when it comes to Hondas, knows em inside out. Think he's into VW's and MINIs now though.
-
Must hunt out that old laptop I have, almost positive it's on XP or Vista! lol Had busted usb ports though but might be worth setting up for in the garage for if I need to check any how to guides on here while I'm working on DD.

Be gone little troublesome Jazz, be gone! Oh, you've gone....bye bye Jazz lol To be fair, I had a Jazz (think it was 2nd Gen) as a courtesy car when Lexy was in getting her paint all sorted. Really liked it, but it was brand new so probably different ball game. Only thing was, it was an Auto, and I had the cruise control on (like I normally did in the Civic) and it came to a hill. Sitting there daydreaming as we cruised along and all of a sudden it hit the kickdown and took off like a truck had hit it's arse! Got such a bloody fright! lmao Going uphill,it had dropped below what I'd set the cruise control at, so unlike Lexy, didn't just accelerate but dropped a gear and gave it beans!! lol Still a nice wee car though if I'm honest. If I could just have the jdm import one, the sport with the 1.5 supercharged engine, bright yellow paint, body kit etc.....they look sweet! Said to Gayle after I handed back the Jazz I wouldn't mind getting one.......................she said "you'll be sitting in that yourself then grandad!" lmao
