Haha, same cars as me! Loving both mate, and love the mods on the mx5! cracking little cars the mk1 eh! Here's my two... DD my main car (was previously leading a nice retired life as a show car until I decided to put her back on the road full time) And my mk1 mx5, bought as a project as Ive always wanted one. Might be starting a new site for mk1 mx5's so will let you know mate

Took me ages to find the early type VTiS alloy gearknob same as yours mate......and that was about 7 years ago! Well done on finding one now, cracking bit of kit that. I was sure I had one somewhere in the garage (had both the early one and the later one) but christ knows where it is now since we moved home lol
-
That is genius! The centre cupholders are useless, but what you've done is how they should have come from the factory! Nice work mate, look like brand new panels and the cup holder looks perfect. Might even do this with DD!
-
Sad times man. Think Gayle would blow a gasket if i even hinted at buying Ruby back, with me having DD and the MX5 (both got stuff needing done and i haven't got my new garage yet so cant get naff all done!). He should fix her up though, cracking car and decent mb6's are getting hard to find now. If I had the money and time i'd have her back again, love that old girl!

I think they should fit mate, guess it's trial and error now with our civic M's as more and more parts are becoming discontinued (not that we ever had a huge list in the first place, but things like these were usually easy to get)

Awww man, poor Ruby. Surprised her sills need done, know there was a wee blister on rear of osr arch when I sold her to John but was only just starting. How bad is she?

hmm, I would imagine so but not one I've had to source before. The DC2's were based on the civic chassis (although probably more EG/EK than MB) essentially so I'd assume the bolts were the same?

That's a pitty mate as Koni stuff is always 1st rate. Still, looking at that mint bay and all the newly refurbished suspension makes me envious! Looks sooooo good! Any idea on the time frame for Tubs2 hitting the road?

Sweet looking deck mate although agree it's way too low and suspension set up does sound...er...dodgy lol MGZS set up is decent, gives a little drop in height and better turn in etc. Nice to see another mint looking deck! Enjoy the club and site bud

That defo sucks man! Should be easy enough to get them to swap it but it's the extra hassle you just don't need.
-
Surely it can't be gone, bodywork and engine were mint? If it has, it'll be the usual band of twats who break perfect cars for the engine/box and just to make coin So many mint condition (and sometimes superbly modded/upgraded) MB6's have been broken over the years it's a sin. Here, what's John doing with old Ruby? Did he ever get her back on the road?

Wow, that really is mint under there eh!! What a superb shell mate, Tubs is gonna be around for a very long time! Got DD booked into the wee village garage next week to see what the hell the clunking/rattling noise is coming from (we think) the rear

That looked amazing fun and must have been great to get the car onto the track to see what she's really like. I think one day value wise these (especially the vti/vtis) will start to be worth a lot more than they currently are, mostly due to how rare they are becoming. True they'll never be worth as much as some of the other modern classics but that just means we're less afraid to use them. You could always do mods that are easy to reverse, so you could return to oem spec if you wanted? Things like fitting recaros/typeR seats or bucket seats can be done and you could always just store the original fronts (would also mean the original seats would be kept mint ). Was that Rich from Dynodaze diving the EG? Great seeing even an FN2 cocking a wheel in the corners!

Sorry to hear about your Mrs losing her job mate, never a good time for that to happen but even more so under the current covid circumstances. Something will turn up though, it always does . Glad you're enjoying the deck, really are amazing cars ain't they! I need to get the trailing bushes done on DD as they're well past their best. Good to see you taking care of her mate as these cars are getting rarer and hard to find good ones now. They're already getting into modern classic car territory so great to see yours being well looked after. Obviously won't be this year but would be great to get a massive civic5 meet organized for next year once things return to some kind of normality. Would love to see this and a .ot of the other members civics in the metal!

All be worth once it shes fixed mate, superb wee cars these. Think honda made some of their best cars during the 90's ours included. I've had 2 of the later civics (2011 TypeS and 2008 TypeR) and although loved them both, they're a pig to work on! Now just got the aerodeck so most things are an easy fix

Nice job!
-
Nice, so you won't have the same issue through time that I had with Ruby's old fogs where the yellow film melted/rotted away. Proper yellow glass ones are rare these days mate
-
Deffo get yourself a Haynes manual, although be aware these aint like the manuals of old. They're made from recycled (and very thin) paper now so very easy to tear the page just turning it over. If you can't trace the fault with the lights on buzzer, you can retro fit one very easily mate. I've fitted one to my mk1 MX5 for the same reason that the lights can be left on by mistake. Think it only cost a fiver or something. Will try and find the link for you. With the wiring diagram for the civic m that's in the Haynes book, should be a doddle to fit.
-
Deffo liking it better with the smoked headlights instead of the yellow ones, although the yellow fogs I would keep as they go well with the look. Looking good Craig!

OMG! The cars in those pics......my brain has just melted. I'll have them all please! Some really nice classics and modern classics, you've landed at the right place there by the look of things. Good they can fit you in too when they have a lot of projects on the go, deffo must have a good rep for folk to be entrusting them with those cars for resto....That line up of modern classics.....mk2 xr2.....mk2 cavalier....mk1 fiesta....and then all the older ones like Vauxhall victor and pc cresta, Austin six, old mercs, alfa romeo, mk2 Jag, E Type Jag, MG's Mini....I'd be happy as a pig in muck spending a day there just looking!!
