Decided to start 2 projects on DD while we're stuck under this lock-down. First one is I'm refurbing her Cades alloys as I really want these back on her! We're not getting snow so want to take her winter rims back off. The Cades had the polished lip, but what I've noticed with polished alloys/diamond cut alloys is that no matter how careful you are not to damage them, the lacquer never has good adhesion so eventually water/crap gets under and starts to lift it/start corroding the wheel. So, decided that I'm stripping the wheels back, getting them uber smooth then spraying the whole wheel bright silver. This will mean they are easy to fix if the paint gets chipped etc (which being my daily driver now, there's more chance of that happening!) Got one wheel done and ready to go into paint but been taking ages for the paint/other materials to arrive. Will get photos of the progress once we're fully into it. Project 2 is one that I have had on my shelf in the garage for years! I bought one of the UTCOMP displays that member Mike Photo had fitted to his MB2. It's basically the same thing as the trip computers modern cars have built in nowadays. I had originally intended to fit this into Ruby, but never got round to it. I still had the 2 spare centre consoles that I bought, so have started modding one of them to fit the display into. I've removed the crappy OEM clock, and fabricated a new plastic filler piece to go into the hole that's left. I'll then cut out a hole in this to fit the display, which will take up the entire space that the oem clock did. For an idea of what I'm doing, have a look at Mikes mb2 interior. I'm also planning to do a Double din conversion on DD too, which again is why I had bought the two spare consoles. The display itself os OLED and has miltiple configuations for displaying Clock, MPG, miles left in tank, outside temp, inside temp, speed, etc. It's a mega lot of wiring to do, absolute spaghetti of wiring but I love a challenge. Most of the pick ups will involve tapping into her ecu wiring so needing to get wiring diagrams of that. Will probably get the display unit mod done first the do the double din further down the line as both these mods will involve her spending some time off the road. Again, will get some photos of things and what I've done so far. Might even try and put together a how too for this as it may be something other members are interested in fitting to their civics to bring them right up to date.

Not sure mate, I've got similar ones on DD but bought them such a long time ago and got them cheap as they were from Adam (former admin on here and good mate) Try searching ebay for them bud see how much they average on there, although know they are pretty damn rare!

Have indeed mate. She can go a lot lower than in the pics, I had them wound up high as I don't like cars that are mega low.
-
Not sold them MeisterR's yet due to this covid-19 stuff. They're in the for sale section mate if you want to have a look. @SaTaNeAtChEeSe

Yes, problem \i had was my torque wrench was mega old (probably from the 70's) and wasn't actually working correctly........which I found out when it just kept tightening instead of clicking when at correct torque. lol It's long gone, replaced with a nice shiney new one. Like you say, they don't need much torque at all to make the seal.

Oh I can deffo confirm that! Did it on my wee Blue MA8 Civic! Not a nice job, but did have the help of a mechanic and a ramp. Would almost guarantee the tank strap bolts will be a pig to undo-possibly shear. Deffo rule out other easier possibles first before attempting that.
-
As above, no feed to ECU deffo sounds like either fuses/possibly another relay or ignition switch.

Now that's an unusual roof lining! 10 out of 10 for ingenuity mate. The roof linings on the 5 doors seems to do this for some reason, although not seen many aerodecks doing it. Feel your pain with the rocker cover bolts bud, I had exaqctly the same on Ruby and have still got one I need to drill out on DD. Funny thing is, bth bolts that snapped were the brand new replacement bolts I bought from Honda! Bought a set for Ruby and set for DD as i was detailing the engine bay. Was totally raging! Let me know how you get on drilling yours out as same engine as mine so will be interesting to see how it goes. Deffo something I need to do with DD but scared I screw it up and bugger the head!

I think I'd be losing the plot with the garage that did the welding mate, the fact the underseal is everywhere except on the chassis that is rotted they should have really spotted that, and to not do the jacking points when you'd already said.......I'd be raging! Especially with the amount of time they've had it! I gather that's all she failed on though? I mean, mk2 mx5's fail on their front chassis legs on a daily basis but even those can be replaced now so shouldn't be too bad to repair? Is that at the rear, looks like the handbrake cables in view?

FFS mate that's not good! Did the garage doing the welding not check her over fully for any more that might be needing done, I mean they've had her long enough! Absolute pia bud, I feel your pain. On the plus side, we can't really go out anywhere just now cos of this stupid lock down so suppose that kinda takes a bit of the sting out, but still, more work, more cash and more waiting.

From what I remember I think you need to drop the tank to get the pump out, no other access to it I'm afraid. I would check the fuel pump relays and also any fuses that are to do with the fuel side of things, and also that cutt off switch in the footwell/bottom of A-pillar (least I think that's where it was, been that long! Was there on my honda civic TypeR)
-
Have you checked the trip relay in the footwell? This is designed to cut off the fuel in the event of a bump/accident. They do sometimes get tripped.

Bloody hell, that's brightened up the interior mate! Two colours that Ive always thought went well together are blue and yellow. Liking that, looks pretty cool and deffo different!
-
Cheers Simon, just my ocd....hated the bit of plain black plastic showing around them when the vents and all that are chrome lol Fired her up today as I'd forgot to disconnect the battery, so was worried in case it had run flat. Been sitting there since Feb....turned the key...vrooom! Bloody love this wee car!! Just wish we could get her out in the sunshine, hate this lock down shit.

Not done a lot to Mindy lately, what with DD getting her suspension doe and winter wheels sorted. Decided that seeing as I'm stuck in the house cos of this bloody covid-19, though I might as well do some 'internet shopping! Soooooo, bought a wee part for the interior that I wanted to finish off the center console chrome. IL motorsport chrome hazard light/headlight pop up switch surround. Have to say, for a part from such a reputable company the fit was absolutely piss poor! There is s curvature to the switch panel that this piece simply did not have. No way the sticky pad that's on it would even try to hold the part in place, so I had to glue it and press really hard for ages to get the part to stay put! Got there in the end though and pleased how it now looks
