Change of mind! Sitting looking at mk1 mx5s on the internet, and looking at what I could do next with Mindy during lock down. Seeing pics of the centre console without the wood and just the chrome vent surrounds got me thinking.....I didn't like that fake wood kit I fitted any more! Said to Gayle who thankfully admitted she didn't like it from the start and thought it looked tacky! Must admit, been thinking the same! So went out today and all the wood trim kit is off. Cleaned up the dash and think with just the chrome vent rings (and wee bit round the hazard switch) the dash looks a lot nicer. What you think? Wee cheeky shot, looking all inviting in the sun! Decided that as I had to drive to work today to pick up another monitor to use on laptop at home, it would be rude not to take Mindy for a blast! And one with my two girls together What difference getting out for a wee drive (first proper drive for over a month) makes you feel so much better! Oh, and also fot a Jazz Performance stainless steel cup holde coming for Mindy that replaces the useless ashtray in the centre console. Should look good methinks!

That's strong money for an EP3 nowadays, I take it it's low miles? What's up with the BM's gearbox mate? EDIT: just noticed what they are now going for on ebay! Price of these has gone up a lot!

So, decided be quicker to do things in stages so got the other 3 wheels masked and gone over with the tack cloths. Set myself up a wee production line in the garage lol (I must have it a filter thing on my phone camera cos the wheels look gold....which they are not!) So, all 3 now etched, primed and into silver. Just need to lacquer them now (waiting on more lacquer arriving) then that's the full set done. Have took a few photos of the masking/prep process to put together a wee how to guide. Once we're set up in the garage at the new house gonna put a full video together returning DDs oem winter alloys.

That must be a bit quicker than the D series it had originally! Lol

all wheel drive!! You need to do the conversion Simon, I insist that Karen insists you do this! lol
-
Jury is still out for me on that Simon lol. I love wheels that are dished with a polished lip, but just fed up of the hassle trying to stop them corroding/crap getting under the lacquer so this seems the best alternative. I do however have another cunning plan but that's way further down the line! Involves spectrachrome paint! Really happy with the finish on these though, they do look like new again. Time will tell on the durablity as I've found with Halfords paint it gets buggered very easy by brake dust, Halfords lacquer really is piss poor. Hence all the paint and lacquer this time are proper automotive stuff. Cost more, but hoping it actually lasts!

Shes a pretty girl, always had a soft spot for the Accords. One of the best colours for them that!
-
Finished! Masking tape etc off (and not a single bit of paint/overspray on the tyre!) Have defo learned that proper automotive masking tape is key, and makes an amazing difference. Wheel has had 4 coats of laquer, no runs anywhere so haven't lost my spraying skills! Will get another done tomorrow then the other two on Monday.

Update: Started to refurb her Cades alloys (DD's posh shoes) The rimes being polished were in a terrible state tbh, and I accidentally kerbed one a while back. Glad to hear that all 4 have now been sanded, repaired, prepped and the the first one is now into paint. So far had 2 coats of etch primer, two coats of high build primer and now onto the silver (1 coat so far). Was going to make a video on this, but because we were in the middle of moving house all my camera gear is packed away including tripods etc so can't. Will however get photos up asap!

Honda civic MB3 D15Z8 Cant find any visual parts.
Dave replied to TheAce's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
She looks clean mate, nice base to start with. For headlights, have a look at our "How to" guides and you will see how to give them the dark "TypeR" look, or if your handy with the tools there's one for converting to projectors! All can be done. As you've noticed parts for these off the shelf are basically non existant, so we need to fabricate/adapt parts. For body styling, easy route is the VTiS Rear skirt and side skirts (can see you already have the VTi front lip fitted). You can also adapt bits from MGZS to fit depending on the look you are going for. Looking forward to following this one! Enjoy the club mate!- 16 replies

Exactly as they have little or no way of disposing off them.......and they cost so much to replace these EV's will either be scrapped or written off come battery replacement time. So 6, maybe 7 years out of your brand new EV (which probably cost at least 23 grand upwards) means wasting money......and as said above, when you work out the pollution to make against the life of the car....it makes no sense! Big up the modern classics I say!

I like him! He thinks exactly the same way as us! Good read and good valid points although there are counter points to those as well which is only to be expected. Think the main point being that our cars still need oil/petrol to run, where as these "EV"'s (sorry, I can't bring myself to call them "cars") mean a reduction in fossil fuels/resources, but not a total reduction as factories producing these ev's still need fossil fuels to run and make the parts. But on the front of petrol/diesel cars, he is totally on point. An old modern classic can do the job of a daily almost as well (sometimes on par even) the only let down being fuel economy and safety. But surely if everyone was driving cars which weren't as safe and csoy as new ones, they would drive more carefully, therefore reducing fatalities through accidents? Its a minefield I tell you! lol Really enjoyed that read, and hope more people choose to save/use modern classics than buy new cars.

I've sourced the English version of the installation manual (was in the middle of translating it from Polish to English then though ah ta hell with this, there must be an English version somewhere! lol) Doesn't look to bad to wire up to be honest, pretty straight forward so going to be ordering up all the neccessary rolls of cable I'm gonna need. Going to take a while as stuff ain't arriving quick and will need to take DD off the road to do it all but will be sweet once done!

I'm almost positive the UTCOMP can display tyre pressures too Alex. Have a look o their website https://www.reveltronics.com/en/ and also in their forum too, lots of info, diagrams and what sensors are available. Deffo better than that wee pissy clock we have there as standard! lol Plus the bulbs gone on DD's clock so I'm damned if I'm taking the radio etc out just to change it, might aswell go all in and fit a nice new display! Oh, and I've just got the UTCOMP-3, but there's also a UTCOMP-Pro version now which has more ports and a choice of screens
