Heat range 6 is about right I'd say. Sounds like your on the right track get good earth to the engine and a good service. And some fresh fuel. See how it goes. Previous owner maybe not cared for it very well. Running without a filter weird.

A p28 or similar. P30 p06 p72 there's a few that will do. You would need to socket and chip the ecu. And have a map of some description. You will never see big power gains without spending a fair bit on parts. But could change the characteristics of the engine.

With regards to throttle cable. I was saying above.. there's no where to bolt that cable holder on a c4 intake manifold

Looks decent to me. Curious about the seats I know a subaru breaker can have seats for Pittence really. Just cant weld. So would appreciate a pic of the modifications some time.

Intake cam is slightly different. But either will be spot on.

In all fairness if there was much more power to be had standard. I'm sure they would have had it from the factory.

Vritually same setup as mine Mine revs to about 8600. If you took to 9k on the dual springs. Would be close to 200hp

Yeah it fits but it will lower compression so would require additional work to make decent power. You'd be better off getting a skunk 2 intake manifold for the c4 head. And change exhaust valve springs for doubles. Then pop the dc2 cams in. Mapped would see you close to 200bhp with a decent exhaust and manifold.
