  1. Would it be worth trying what kink suggested to see if it is the ecu or the socket / chip / map? Especially if you are thinking of ditching that one?
  2. Think that the sst chips are pretty much the main (if not only?) one that's used. The chips themselves aren't that expensive...about a fiver. Obviously it's the Map that costs. I'd they've still got the Map then they should be able to sort it out.
  3. This is how I've left my p28 project when i spat the dummy out with getting sick of taking it out and putting it back in again and having to disable a different sensor. My light was on solid, with no flashes, but I'm hoping that the Map just ended up being corrupted, but I'm still in the huff with it.
  4. I'd there's no flashes, that normally means that the ecu is goosed but with it being chipped it's more likely the chip has got a problem or like ali says the map. If the mechanic plugs it in and finds that it's the ecu, it could still be just the chip as that's where the map lives.
  5. Should still be able to read the code from the ecu by bridging the pins and counting the flashes with the p28
  6. Sounds like the best plan since you know that the box is a good one. 4.9 will make a huge difference, but your revs will be much higher in 5th on motorway speeds etc. Mfactory used to have a gear calculator on their website.. You can add the ratios for the s9b from the link on the above to see what revs you'll be doing at what speeds for different final drives.
  7. It was me I've got a final drive out of an s80 (4.7) in my s9 box, but with a longer 5th gear from an integra ls to keep the revs low on motorways etc. Love it Got the fd second hand of eBay, and got the longer 5th from honda in the states (us model integra). Also needed a 1st gear from the teg type r to fit on the fd shaft (same ratio though).
  8. Ha ha... That'll be nuts. You'll suprise a few people with that
  9. What are you swapping? The whole engine or just the head? Also, what is it that you have now?
  10. Civicned = civicchav for you southern chaps
  11. That's cack... Especially given the time of year. Like you say though at least it happened when it did and nothing bad happened.
  12. Was parked in asda once and saw someone start to scrape the side of her car on a board like that when reversing out of a space. She stopped, looked to see what was happening, then just continued reversing and scraping deeper and deeper They are well dodgy wee bollards that they use though.
  13. Like the grille.. Good change of look Had to swap all the interior bulbs for leds in the tourer as well.. Freshens it up a treat coz there's so many, and the sad yellow looked tired.
  14. Hi mate. Looks like a nice one There's going to be quite a few turbos on here soon by the loss of things Was it dynodazes where you went in Leicester? if so, rich used to be a moderator on here and had a turbo on his mb6.
  15. Sorry for massively missing this one. I've got koni shocks and eibach springs, but it gives a big drop at the front which rubs with 17s at full lock.
  16. Done this on my s9 as well, 4.7 with a longer fifth. Love it every day

Pleased it's all sorted now bud
  18. That's good work on the remap. How do you like it so far (apart from the slipping clutch)?

Sounds like lower balljoint to me... I've had a few go now.. But not too expensive to sort.
