Hello I bought my mb6 half a year ago. I did full engine rebuild and repaired rust.

Hi, I've had my MB6 for 3 years now and it has been stood for last 2 years. I just got the car out recently and got so much work to do, but first need to sort the leak on the roof and spare wheel area in boot. Both the roof and boot leaked ever since I got the car but I did manage to fix the roof leak but now it is leaking again and I never got to find the cause of boot leak. Here is what I have done so far. 3 years ago when I first got the car, I noticed the roof lining from front drivers side corner was wet. So I removed the roof lining, removed the sunroof drain tubes, poked a metal wire in. I then removed the roof strips and found a small hole on front driver side (where the roof lining was wet). So I applied lots of tiger seal to block the hole and also along the whole roof strip area on both sides then fitted back the roof strips. I never put back the roof lining and for a year and half my roof never leaked. I then moved onto the boot so removed the tail lights, removed the tail light seals and applied clear silicone on both sides then put back lights and tightened up. I also removed the rear bumper and applied silicone onto the vent/flap thing from outside and also inside. This still did not fix the leak onto the boot. Now 2 years later, after moving the car. I have found the rear half of my roof is wet and also the boot spare wheel area is rusty. I have examined the boot leak and I suspect it is leaking from two areas. On the passenger side, just next to vent/flap thing, there is what I believe it passenger rear sunroof drain tube which is where the leak starts from. There is also a little bit of rust around that area on the arch but the car has been parked up so I doubt it could be the arch. Are the sunroof drain tube prone to cracks over time? I have attached a picture to show you what I mean. Now on the driver side, it's difficult to explain but after lifting up the boot seal, I found a bit of rust which is where I think it may be leaking from. I removed the boot seal completely to check if there is any rust anywhere else but thankfully nope, just on where I suspect the leak is. I also noticed that my tailgate hinges are rusty and cracked, could it be that water is passing through them causing the rear half of my roof to leak? Any help would be appreciated

Can anyone tell me where i can go for a simple d16 swap as an upgrade to my gutless 1.4 and how much this simple swap would cost? I know the d16 as standard isnt anything magical either but im not looking for mega bhp at the moment just want to improve the overall drive and bit more grunt... but do have a plan to d16 turbo when ever possible with circumtances. Ive already contacted LF honda and although he replied a few times regarding d16 turbo and my budget, i didnt get the simple answer i want as above first sentence...either he is busy or not interested.. Im in west midlands dont mind travelling a bit and would like a drive in drive out service for a tidy swap with a healthy engine.. Sorry if this is boring but i appreciate any input...

So I think that I know the answer to this question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I've got some itr cams to go in my deck, which hasn't driven for 10 months. It's going to be having some work done, including timing belt, which seems like an ideal opportunity to get the cams in, but getting it mapped isn't going to be possible for a little while, and it's going to need to be mot'd before it drives anywhere. Question is, do I get the cams in now, or forget about it until I can get it mapped? What should I expect if I ran the cams on the p9 ecu?

So started getting few bits for the 1.8 engine rebuild, but in two minds to put the engine in my 1.5 or keep in original shell. My 1.5 is real tidy on the bodywork and the 1.8 has some scraps and dents. How difficult is the swap going to be, thought’s please

Anyone with a vti s hatch can show a pic or explain the proper fitting of the rear lip please... Ive fitted mine but just used the 4 screws that go on each end and im going to use black cable ties to go underneath holes cos i dont have the bolts or the plastic clips.... 2 things im not sure about is there some metal brackets that go in between the bumper and the lip where it meets the arches that the screws go through. Are these brackets supposed to be clipped in over the screw holes on the lip or the bumper it self? Also i noticed the top of the lip where it touches the bumper has slight gap so not a tight fit...is there supposed to be some 3m double sided strip to applied across the lip on the inside? I do have some 3m but ive read its supposed to be applied in warm weather or it wont bond... Sorry for long post but rather than put another thread up i might aswell ask here if anyone has any ideas if mg zs sideskirts can be fitted without those plastic clips that are fitted on the inside? Sadly i had mine painted then realized that all plastic clips and holders are non present as when i broke my zs earlier this year i unkowingly pulled the skirts incorrectly causing them to rip off.. Any help appreciated
