  1. Lol it's the banner at the bottom of Civic5 forum main page mate! https://futureclassiccars.uk/
  2. You need to get the DeLorean and the civic or our sister site future classic cars mate. Deffo not got a DeLorean in the club yet!!!! Would love to see it over there!
  3. Both look stunning mate! My civic typeS was called "Lexy" lol
  4. Happy birthday Peeps. Can't believe it's been 5 years since you were taken from us. Love you and miss you x x x
  5. Some Rover brake components do fit mate! The rear calipers are the same as ours from what ive seen. My best mate had a rover 400 saloon (2 litre) and he couldnt find a rear caliper in the breakers for it. He got a civic mb one and it was idenrical. The fronts i imagine will be the same, the not sure on them being the same for mb6/mc1 as they had bigger discs (282mm) and bigger calipers. Vti also has different stud pattern. But for 1.6, 1.5 and 1.4, i assume these will all be the same. Youve got a delorian????? Jeese man! I need pics of this!!!! Totally love them! That could be also becsuse my fav film of all time is back to the future. Got a delorian myself......only its 1:12 scale model of bttf car! Lol also got a bttf " Outa time" number plate on the kitchen wall, made by myself! Looks pretty good!
  6. Unfortunately it is mate. They (Honda) stopped producing parts for ours years ago, so basically any parts that were in stock have eventually ran out. For calipers though, you're not lost. You can get reconditioned ones easy, which come with new pistons, seals etc and the casings are blasted and painted, so essentially brand new calipers. I'm about to get new (recon) front ones for DD. The carrier brackets aren't available recon, so these you need to return yourself. The parts that might disappear that worry me are things like the sliding pins for them, handbrake cables etc. And also the "Dealer only" parts. It is pretty poor that Honda don't support owners better, but all they are interested in now is selling brand new cars.
  7. Anything else possible with a welder! There are rear boxes/systems out there for the mb tho mate so probably better getting one that's designed to fit, or go for a custom made one. That's what I've got on DD, custom made powerfllow. You can get just the back box if you prefer, or the whole system. Fits the car like a glove! Congrats on the wee fella mate! Let the sleepless nights begin! Lol
  8. That man speaks the truth! Totally agree mate, these Civics have never been given the recognition they deserve (one of the main reasons civic5 was formed!), always dissed by the "that's not a real Honda" brigade, who are usually driving their pure JDM Civic ej (that was built in Swindon too!). Don't get me wrong, I love the whole JDM scene and the cars that are in it (don't agree for the overinflated prices for anything that is even remotely JDM though!), but at the same time I wouldn't diss other Honda's just because they aren't made in Japan. It is really sad the amount of immaculate MB6's/MC2's (which are already getting really hard to find) that are scrapped by the very same people above just to get their engines. Funny thing is, you put an mb6 next to an ek4 and say it's every bit as good as an ek4 or other dohc honda, they instantly slate the b18 engine ours has, saying who would want that, it's inferior and they're crap. Yet they break our perfectly good civic M's to get that very same engine! lol And when I've taken either of our 5 door Civic M's/Aerodeck to garages for work or mot's, have been told by more than one garage that the civic m's were one of the best cars Honda ever built. The other thing tat bugs me is the prices. There's not much point in selling our civics (especially the vti) as their prices have stayed realistic. The 3 door vti versions are advertised at stupid money! One example was a 3 door vti, 150k on the clock with the rear arches hanging off £4k! An mb6 with the same miles but body perfect....probs £1200 tops. Just makes no sense to me! Ours are better equipped than the 3/2 door models, seem to be better at resisting rust, and are really good cars, but still they get slated. Makes keeping them going even more worthwhile, cos maybe there will come a time when the only mid to late 90's civics you see at a jap car show will be ours! Keep your wee MB going mate, she deserves it! PS: I also love the 3 door civics, always wanted a sonic blue vti with white alloys, lowered etc. Just don't like how stuffy and ill-informed a minority of the owners of them can be! There. rant over, and the worlds now a much better place for it!
  9. Some of you on FB may have seen the wee video I created from the German f1 grand prix featuring one Seb Vettel! Decided to do a better one so here it is...................................Vettel fans got to another section now! lol
  10. That's dedication! Think we've had the deck for about the same number of years too. Love having a car that long as you really get to know them inside out, and know it's history. DD had two previous owners which were husband then wife (so technically only really one owner) when we got her and since then my late wife then me. So know everything about her. Nice to see someone else owning one of these civics for so long too! Really hope you get to the bottom of that blooming noise mate!
  11. So it was the door stay! Mine was at the end the pin goes through, seemed to be a bit of play in it which caused the clicking/rattle. Just noticed in my previous post the bloody predictive text change the word to "cooler"! Good wee video mate and glad you got it fixed. Bit surprised when I heard the Scottish accent! Didn't know you were a fellow Scot! Lol
  12. Amazing amount of work mate and loving the results! Looking superb!
  13. Nicel! Been a few turbo'd 1.6's on here including an auto.
  14. Shiney!! Looks really clean! I see it's an auto too, same as my Aerodeck. You shouldn't need to change the ECU if it's the one the car came with. The mb6 one isn't mappable either and wouldn't work with our 1.6's If you wanted one that can be tuned, you'd need to go for either a Hondata or one of the other aftermarket ecu's. Personally though, unless you're planning a lot of engine mods then i wouldn't bother changing the ECU.
  15. Looking good mate! First Civic M with a ducktail spoiler I've seen! What was it originally from/for? Seems to fit in nicely. Looking much nicer now it's lowered too. Good progress bud!
  16. And their is a god! Got the caliper off, and the pin removed. After much perssuasion the offending broken bolt is out!!!! Well happy. Just need a bolt now!
  17. We also have the official Honda manuals (pdf) for these cars in our downloads section, along with the original brochures (also downloadable). Anything you want to know that doesn't show up using the forums search button, just ask. Everything you need to know about your car will be in the forum. Oh, and we also have a sisiter site/club which we have just started called Future Classic Cars which is for all modern classics from the 80's, 90's and 00's. Would be great to see your wee Civic there too! Already some nice cars there but always looking to grow the club. Link is below. https://www.futureclassiccars.uk/
  18. ES is a nice spec, got an Aerodeck ES myself (although the original leather has been replaced with a full custom leather interior retrim). Obviously not as quick as the B18 engined one's but quick enough for most purposes!
  19. Lol tell me bout it! Going back out to garage to jack her back up and try and get the caliper off. After thinking about it last night, think I should be able to just take the sliding pin out as that should be where the snapped bolt is screwed into, not the caliper carrier itself. Hoping to either get the remaining bit of bolt out or if need be just replace the sliding pins (which are called guides on the mini for some reason!)
  20. Sweet looking ES Clare, how long you had it? Looking forward to more pics of it! Enjoy the club, any questions just ask, we're a friendly bunch here
