  1. So far fiddled with a few bits just to bring it upto date. Fitted cruise control which was incredibly simple, couldn't believe it worked tbh. I've switch the japanese headunit out for an Android unit. Cost a fair whack but has 6gb ram and a lovely OLED screen. Very impressed with it. Managed to get reverse camera and steering controls etc All functioning like like they should. Wireless Android auto aswell which is nice. Also fitted a usb port on the dash for wired connections.
  2. There are quite a few setups you can have. There are both 3l and 3.5l V6. 2.4l hybrids which are 4wd electric back end on them. And this one which is the basic 2.4l. boring I know. But as a daily I wanted something with the least to go wrong. Already found out parts are incredibly expensive. Lovely drive Tho. Very quiet and relaxed.
  3. Don't know what's happening to me but I'm quickly changing teams and have a new love for Toyota. Hilux surf joined the family last year and now have recently got an Alphard as a daily. I absolutely love it. However seems to have mixed opinions amongst my friends, obviously some of them don't get the JDM life. Gonna be a small project this one. Fixing niggles. And some maintenance. Few upgrades and some nice wheels at some point soon. Start with some pics of the beast.
  4. Nice one Dave. Get a paintless dent man round for that. Miracle workers. A spare washer bottle fell off shelf onto my bonnet a while back. Was furious. Cost me 90 quid but bloke came to my house and would never know it ever happened.
  5. Glad she's on the mend. Maybe a paintless dent man could fix the dent for you? Btw.. not for everyone. But I had a leak when I baught my mb6. I used couple 40m2 smoke bombs. Lit them in the front footwells. After a few minutes, highlighted smoke was getting past the rear windows and also my driver's door. Changed rubbers. Problem solved. Could be worth a go. Stinks but does the trick
  6. They work yes but generally dont last long. May get a few years out of one.
  7. Mb6 has a single O2 sensor. Pre cat and it's in the manifold. As for the answer to your question I do t know. However aftermarket cats are available I baught one last year for aerodeck to pass MOT
  8. Damn that's awful Dave. Sorry. It was really mork and Mindy here yesterday too. All bit of tile flying off the roof etc. Not good, worst nightmare for car guys!! I recon I've got spare trims. Unless I've ran out. I collect them because they like to exit the building at 150mph. Font think civic was really built to go those speeds
  9. Some people will advise against reusing. However. I have gone through many clutch/box changes and only changed recently because edges were rounding off slightly. Not because they failed. And last two cars have been running a fair bit of power. I think reusing is fine. Little bit of medium threadlock and torqued properly
  10. I have 4kg competition clutch one in atm and it's been spot on as you'd expect.
  11. Ignore me then lol getting old and forget. Thaught dc2 was lighter than that had one in my eg and did weigh it.
  12. They definitely make engine feel more responsive. But personally noted when driving with a heavily loaded car. Seems to take more effort to get going. But for general driving much better. Dc2 flywheel is good. And considerably lighter. I think 4kg instead of 7kg on mb6 roughly. I would go with a one piece flywheel. You don't get typical dual mass flywheels for these engine. As the clutch plate is sprung But there are some 2 part flywheels with a mixture of materials available. I think there's more chance of having an issue losing a bolt the ring gear separating in a two part one.
  13. Everything yes. Have to pull the board from under drivers seat unless you got details for coding
  14. Yes that's right and The security fobs came direct from Hamilton Palmer
  15. Yes I was initially told cannot change them. However on inspection you can. Original outer should fit. For what they cost may aswell bang a new set on tho if yours are old. Just use a decent brand. So they last.
  16. I honestly don't think that's a true reflection. The models are all mixed up on that site, And has been said before vti and vtis were often registered incorrectly
  17. Yeah it's true. Very few about nowadays. I often look to gauge prices etc. Ek's are almost non existent aswell. Suppose they mostly suffer from rust etc unless people are trying to preserve them.
  18. Don't know how I've ended up reading this so far down the line. But for what it's worth for people in the future. Honda still provide new fobs and keys for certain setups . I have brand new keyset and fobs for mine.
  19. That was 100% my first choice but was poo pood by my wife. Said looks too much like a car whatever that means lol
  20. Haha same really. Yeah it's an 2007 Alphard. Quite a nice vehicle tbh. Was looking for a Honda Elysion ideally but couldn't find the right one. So started looking at these, And quite liking Toyota atm.
  21. New daily today. Still got Hilux too as a run about, altho might part with it soon.
