Well just waiting on fluids now and it'll be ready to turn the key. Engines back in and ready. Hoping it's ok as not been run for a very long time. Had to change a front wheel bearing. 1 year old and let me down. Loads of play. Looks menacing ready to hit the street again!!

Haha kinda in its third phase now. Plan is to build the forged motor up again and aim for more power. Shame to pull it really. Pleased with it as my first full engine build. All looks mint inside when swapped sump and cam cover onto the new engine. Held up well, plenty of abuse. 15 psi of boost and track days etc. Look forward to it's next iteration.

Was allowed outside to mess about with my car again today. A rare treat. Connected all the last bits upto the engine now and about ready to turn the key and see what happens. Just wants some fluids in it And then back to dynodaze to get a new flange on the downpipe as have changed the turbo. I've had the Front arb and gear linkage powder coated to match the rear arb and there was a fair bit of slop in the shifter which I'm hoping I've sorted now by making a new bush in the universal joint. And also fitted poly bushes to the shifter stabiliser. Feels great so far. It's had new clutch master and slave cylinders and a hel braided line.just bits and bobs I felt it wanted. Can't wait to get back out in it

Ooh new toys I'll have a look

AHH ok so it's the rubber part you feel is too thin. So you can reinforce with liquid poly. And often tiger bondbgwts used too but I don't think it lasts all that well starts to come away after a while.

I think that's an unusual faul tbh. There normal robust enough. But if you want to change regardless. Hard race do them all beit similar design with a harder rubber. Or there's hasport mounts which are nice CNC machined. I use these and Inteoduce a little vibration into the car. Then there the eBay specials which are often similar to hasports. But I had a set few years back. Took them off after one day as too hard.

Something to look out for is the scissor type arms of the window mechanism twist slightly. If that's the case straighten them should resolve the problem. At the same time grease the rubber channel with silicone grease, as I think the twisting occurs when the glass is struggling to slide up the channel.

Yes that's correct. Had a good once over, timing belt, valve clearances etc.

Recently I have been accused of enjoying taking things apart.

I believe the dampers between 120 and 180 are the same, it's the front spring rate thats different and 120 being 4 cylinder engine, makes them better match for the 4 cylinder civic. I'm pretty sure someone on here tried civic lowering springs on mg shocks before tho and it didn't work out to well.

Strangely I've had a captur hire car aswell while our ford was repaired. Altho It was a 1.5 petrol, it was really punchy too. But I totally agree. Wasn't very stable at speed or mid corner of giving it any.

Many Sony double dins have the single din rear section. You'd expect quality to be good on those. I've been looking for my Hilux and seen them.

Personally I find a smaller steering wheel improves how it feels.
-
Yeah it's the turns lock to lock that not great on these civic. Integra steering rack supposed to be a good upgrade. Not tried it myself mind.

3.0td it's got plenty of grunt that's for sure. But it's far from mint. I've tidied it up a little. But not too worried. A coat of poor boys black hole has made it look far better than it did :) fixed few oil leaks and couple bits for MOT. but it's just a beater to sling stuff in and out of really. However I can't deal with driving a complete shed, hence giving it a little attention.

Civic has been on the back burner a touch. However going to start cracking on now. My new daily has innevitably cost me a small fortune and precious time to make road worthy and also not so much of an eyesore. But glad I've percevered. Fantastic space can get three bikes in the back no bother. Boiler and all my kit for weekend jobs. Love it. Just my wallet doesn't must be doing no more than 15mpg. Thirsty girl

I cannot picture it exactly. But yes I recall having to cut a section out to lower the heater and put gauges in there. And 100% had to on eg.
