  1. Welcome back chief, glad you've got yourself a deck
  2. I'm running 15s at the mo coz I've still got my winter tyres on but i normally have 17s. The 15s do feel quicker to accelerate, but feel a bit more flighty, and i like the feeling of grip that the 17s give... Harder to turn the wheel, but nice. I think that all things being equal, 16s would be the best compromise.
  3. Yeah, that's why I don't want to do the iab delete. There's obviously some benefit to be had from the change in length that the butterflies opening as the revs increase, and don't fancy losing any low-mid grunt. I just want to give it a try on a base map to see how it goes so I'll know better for when i get it properly mapped.
  4. Good choice of car seat sir
  5. I want mine to come in around 4.7k - any more than that and I'm giving it beans, any less than that and chances are I'm just cruising. I'm sure @burbleboy had his vtec and iab matched?
  6. Ha ha, that was the wife from the passenger seat Probably explains some of the shaking
  7. Yeah, in the power bit too. But all the weight in the back and the speed meant the front end was feeling a bit too light for comfort.
  8. genuine autobahn photo with a deck chock-full of camping gear for a euro road trip... got up to 135 before backing out.
  9. been wondering about this a bit - do you think that a tweaked c4 map is better than running a p72 map? I remember Naz (Weetec) mentioning on his thread ages ago that the P9 map is not that bad really, and I'm sure that he swapped back after running a p72. Going to be getting my p28 chipped and was planning on just getting a p72 map installed (with lower IAB engagement) until I can get it properly mapped, but wonder if doing the same might be better on the C4 map (engine internals are all standard).
  10. Yeah, going to get it chipped with a p72 base map with a lower iab engagement until I get round to getting it mapped
  11. It was a great car for learning how to overtake though, used to have to plan overtaking manoeuvres a week in advance
  12. What happened to the other to speed thread from years ago - can't find it?
  13. That was my first car, used to bool up and down to Leicester in it when i was at uni. Used to be happy around 80, until the big hills when I'd be mixing it with the trucksin the crawler Lane Got to 100 down a very big Hill on a private road and the shaking and screaming was scary
  14. Just a little catch up update now I'm unarchived. tubs had her 3rd timing belt change a few weeks ago. Belt, pulley, and water pump, as well as usual service stuff and valve clearances. Mate didn't have time to get the new o2 sensor on, or the cam plug, so will be going back soon for those and hopefully new fuel feed line (if any of our traders ever get their pms) and a new fuel filler hose. Also need a new caliper (again ) and need to get my p28 turned into a p72 and installed.
  15. Hi Apart from the damage, the paintwork looks in really good condition
  16. Ace work with the wheels nick, Shane that you're having a bit of bother with the lip though - car's looking sweet though
  17. a bit delayed, but some steamy wagon stuffing action filth:
  18. Loving the new wheels chief And bummer for the windscreen, I finally had to change mine a few months ago, and got another little chip a couple of weeks later... So frustrating!
