R right chaps, I need some help as I'm not getting any where with goodridge. I've downloaded the parts catalogue and the kit numbers don't seem right... Is showing that the mc2 uses the same kit as other m's with rear disks, but a different kit for the mb6. To be honest, I don't have a clue which is right, but it seems to me that the Vti's would be more likely to share the same kit?

Congrats @Aerokek

@Dave was selling some Meisters recently.. Not sure if he shifted them.

I think the deck does have different suspension - certainly the eibach springs I've just bought are listed only for the deck. Can't remember about the shocks though. Mine are koni and I did look for them recently but couldn't find them anymore.. Have a feeling that they're specific for the deck though.

Got some new eibach springs coming though to replace the snapped ones.

From the workshop manual - hope that helps

Could it be the distributor? Sounds a bit like what mine did when it died.

Only problem is the mot ran out in September.... It's been a long road so far...

To be honest, I don't know if I can be arsed with the grief at the minute... Won't get me anywhere apart from blowing off some steam and getting more stressed. I certainly won't want them to be putting it right.

They'd undersealed everywhere... I guess the mot'er had done some scraping.

Total PIA. The jacking points were one of the things that I knew needed doing first, from trying to jack it up and them just folding! Yeah, the underseal was done by the garage doing the welding, so my usual mechanic didn't spot it - his ramp lifts the chassis, but the garage doing the mot's ramp used the jacking points. Apparently he noticed the hole when checking the bushes, and the pokey tool went straight through.

So, tubs went for her mot today, and would have passed if it hadn't needed welding doing... Yes..... Fooking welding. After being in getting welding done for about 3 months! Rear jacking points and a hole in the chassis! Needs two new front springs as well, but that's no big deal. Gutted

Crikey! That's such a weak point now
-
Oh, and you can buy them direct from j&r from their website.
-
I used a j&r driveshaft when mine snapped, but the mechanic fitted it, so don't know about the damper. Quite a few people have used them over the years though, so hopefully someone can shed some light on it.

Good progress bud
