  1. hi all, time to make a start on my project thread. Been lurking a couple of months gathering parts and doing some research, and getting bored with the stock 100,000 mile tired old mb6 so it's time to pull my finger out and start modding. Parts so far: Ebay coilovers powerflex bushings various hard parts (tie rods etc.) plastic whales p***s new ht leads and dizzy cap/rotor bosch battery 4-1 ebay manifold drilled & grooved discs with mintex pads buddy club p1 16x7j wheels with toyo t1r's kenwood head unit, kenwood 10'' sub and jbl amp misc fluids etc. I have a set of new old stock itr pistons (pr3) and a 98 type r cylinder head (p72) with valves and springs but no cams. I plan on doing a full rebuild and hi comp N/A build in the future but for now i just want to get the car lightly modded and sitting right, work out the issues. Been hit with health problems recently so i'm not going to be overseas working for a coupla months which sucks so moneys gonna be tight but i will have plenty of time. Lucky for me i have a decent sized workshop with full sized pit with overhead beam and hoist, just need to get off my a*s and get it cleared out properly, nearly there. You'll be seeing plenty of pics over the next few weeks anyway so looking forward to you guys feedback along the way. Lets do this. mb6 with it's little brother S205OBY wheel choice voltmeter sounds will upload more pics soon
  2. As you all probably know iv bought burbleboys vti-s and very happy with it glad to be back in a Honda. Plans are to just drive it for a while as it's already sorted, save for a turbo kit next summer (possibly!) taking fly-eyes off as there just not my thing.
  3. hi everybody guess who bought another civic mb1 sr vtec...yeaaah it's me it was a very good deal, near my home... so i bought it 300€ (217£), she has 127 000 miles (197 000 km ) very good conditions,, and i bought her to english people !! unfortunatly i wasn't here to talk with them as you can imagine, at this price, the need some reparations so it's a mb1 sr vtec of course (rare in France, or so expansive), d16y2 as you know. she is grey, perfect for my collection of MB1 lol ^^ good points : - her mileage ! -4 electric windows work good - clutch look ok - interior is very clean, exterior too ! - the engine looks good, sec - it's a SR ^^ bad points / or to do : - tyres ( i ' ve the old wheel of my white) - front and rear brake ( disk + pads) + brake caliper - exhaust, and o2 sensor (check engine) - all drains and filter (air, oil, fuel....) - spark... there is a little rust but it's ok all she needs to drive ^^ we will do everything 'cause we don't have invoices of the last owner! at the moment she doesn't able to drive ( one rear brake caliper is bloqued or broke ) but we will make all of this with love, like my other MB so now, i've got 3 mb1 somes pictures mae
  4. I just bought an mb2 can anyway give me ideas of what to do and where to buy parts for it from
  5. Hello everyone, put this off for sometime as wanted to get a few things done and sorted before starting this thread.Where to start, well I bought my Mb2 nearly two years ago from a neighbour who was going to part exchange the car in so had it for £200 bargain really as they're an elderly couple and had the car from new, garaged it and only had 65k on the clock. After I bought her and the keys were handed over, that's where the fun started!First thing I did was buy some his lights which made a big difference, they are some Chinese brand but have been on 2 years now. Next was some fogs with another hid kit on, I just couldn't justify paying prices of the second hand fogs for the car. After saving up some more I bought some 17" alloys which I have just taken off due to hopefully getting some 15" BBS ones. After that I thought to take some attention to under the hood. A induction kit has been added which just made it sound meatier, not so sure about performance. Then got a few bargains. Bought a front and rear brace both for £10! Tried to make the back brace look as pretty as I could by cutting part of the carpet out the back , as I'm not the best at making things look neat Biggest and the best mod I've done has got to be my coilovers got them off Matt who's Mb sadly died.Along when purchasing his coilovers I also bought blacked out headlights and his black grill..all this was great and Matt is such a top lad! All that fitted and she is looking mighty fine. Then I made a trip to to get a silver vti-s kit which set me back £60! I know what a bargain! The bad points which I've finally got the ball rolling are the back arches, for some reason even though the couple who owned KT before garaged her , the arches are eaten away so getting those sorted in the upcoming months.and finally slight paint flaking on my back bumper but all in all everything else is rosey. Could anyone give me some ideas for some engine mods? I have been thinking of a swap but don't know if worth it? Let me know !!! Thanks and will try and update as often as possible

  7. Hi all My Micra has had it's day so I picked up this Civic MB6. I know it's not your typical EK Civic but it's still got the B18C4. It's certainly quicker than the Micra. It wont set any speed records but it does shift pretty well. The Car It has 89,000 miles, a bunch of paperwork and MOT till end of August. The car has had some track use before, the guy was on RetroRides It's pretty much standard, it has a set of 35mm lowering springs and a stainless steel (silent) rear can. Plans - I'm having the window tints done pay day, I don't like being in a goldfish bowl. - I've bought some G3 rubbing compound to remove the cloudiness on the headlights. - Some BC coilovers, expensive but worth it. - New brake pads. Preferably GreenStuff. It has OMP pads at the moment and they don't feel the best. Stay tuned!
  8. i think its time to start my project thread i brought my civic MA8 1.4is in february its my first car! I chose the 1.4 because of the low insurance group as I'm 21 (but ended up being over 3K!!) I have always loved these civics, I was looking for one for a while in a good colour, but I found this one in a rare colour (Phantom Grey) and i picked it up for a price I couldn't refuse with a bit of tax and mot the car is mechanically sound but the previous owner didn't look after the body work to well but the old civic is in good hands now and will be forever as I'm never geting rid of her, I am going to be doing a fair bit of work on her from the ground up with an engine conversion coming at some point.. I've settled for a (D16w4 it's the same as the Y8 and Y2) but the engine is now fitted, I will turbo it soon This is how the car looked when i brought it
  9. this is my civic mb2 1.4 and its my first car and im very keen on getting some mods done to it! here is what she looks like at the moment. some of you may not like the stickers or the painted hub caps but they are temparary till i get some alloys i think they looks alright when they are moving let me know what you think

  12. Well, here's the build up of my first MB6. Only had her 5 days and already i'm in love with her!!! lol Oh, and she's been officially named Ruby! Goes with her Ruby red paint (ok, I know it's sicillian red!! ) I'm no stranger to M's have had my MA8 civic (blue Betty!) for around 5 years! Right, heres the info on her when I got her. 1998 S-reg sicillian read pearl 39,000 miles Full service history, 2 owners from new (Honda being the first, up to 6,000 miles, then the owner I bought her from at 38,500 miles) standard appart from A/M remote alarm imobiliser with ultrasonics (NOW REPLACED WITH NEW UPGRADED CAT 1 SYSTEM), detachable towbar (proper one from Honda , which will be coming off!) My Plan is to make her a VTiS replica, but in met red, instead of pirates black. So here she is This was on the way home at some motorway services (I spy Dawns aerodeck in the background! ) First mod was to ditch the orange side indicators for nice clear ones Next, it was onto the interior. She's spotless inside, but still gona give her a good clean, so heres how she looks now....I'll post up another once she's been fully valeted The one part of the interior that I wanted to change asap was the stereo! Was a pioneer good bit of kit in it's day, but i like me Cd's and MP3's so out it came and in its place, my Pioneer mp3 head unit (keeping it kinda oem, as it's still a pioneer ) And thats all the mods so far...........but there will be more to come. She's getting a full VTI-S body kit, VTI-S alloys (early style ones) poss tints, and a few other bits and bobs. Heres some pics of how she looks now after a wash! MODS SO FAR: Smoked side indicators Pioneer MP3 head unit (iPod compatible) (UPDATE: Now Alpine CDE9850Ri CD/MP3 with full iPod control)(Update again, now got a new Pioneer DAB/CD/USB head unit!) Powerflow Stainless steel exhaust (cat back) VTiS lip kit (side skirts still to be fitted) VTiS floor mats VTiS gearknob VTiS Speedline chrono alloys fully refurbed and powder coated in white ) TypeR Gear gator with red stitching Full leather (from ES model) fitted, along with the black door cards Honda horn (peep peep) removed, replaced air horns Lowered on Full MeisterR Zeta S coilover suspension
  13. Ok, I'm always telling new members to get a project thread going, so thought I'd better put in mine! So, the brief.... Bought the civic from my wife when she got her aerodeck, she was the 2nd owner. It had full FHSH, and 32'000 miles on the clock! Had it for around 4 years now (she had owned it for a year) As bought, completely standard First mod was to change the rear lights, as I hated the orange indicators. So changed to later style MB lights Then I turned to the interior. Luckily for me, my wife got me a brand new, still in the box, OEM leather interior! Trouble was, it was the actual leather lit itself, from Honda, and I had to retrim all my seats by hand!! Nightmare! Well worth the effort though. Aslo fitted a cd player, JVC, then followed that with another JVC which played MP£ aswell and had a funky display, but that broke so opted for a pioneer this time. The difference in sound quality is wicked, and this one does mp3/wav etc, and has input sockets on the front Upgraded the speakers to Sony Xploads (utter rubbish they are) anyways, the interior Next, I got a rear boot spoiler for it, and at the same time, changed the rear bumper to the later style MB civic. Again, I just prefered the shape compared to MA civics, and it tied in with the rear lights I got bored with the original 14" alloys, and wanted some 15"jordan style alloys. Could'nt find a set at the time, so opted for a brand new set of wolfrace excites, with 195/50/15 tyres. These look similar so was chuffed. Also fitted a genuine Honda sunroof wind deflector, for a bit of the JDM look lol. Also fitted one to Dawns aerodeck Then it was the brakes, and although it was never gonna be fast, I wanted it's brakes to be good! Fitted Black Diamond Grooved/vented front discs, with B/D predator pads. These were ok for a bit, but the predator pads were really poor. Changed them to ferodo, and now it stops perfect! Then i thought, the centre caps really spoiled the look of the wheels, so changed them to proper Honda ones Much better Now to the front bumper, which has been buggin me. The car came with half colour coded bumpers, which meant the bottom half was just black plastic, which I hated. So, decided to fully colour code them, as I had just bought a new gun for my compressor Also replaced the grill with a new one, as the old one was perished and the chrome was perished too, and fitted MB6 H/light washers, which I think change the look of the MA big time at the front So, not got any recent pics up appart from these I took after a good clay and polish on the civic and the aerodeck Plans are.. Respray bonnet as it's a replacement one which is white! Colour code the bump strips, mirrors. Fit the VTI rear spoiler I have (with brake light) Fit the vti (standard) front lip I have Lower it Fit front window wind deflectors Fit the original MA front fogs I got for it
  14. Welcome to Civic5.com We are the UK's number 1 dedicated website/owners club for owners of the 1995-2000 Honda Civic 5 door MA MB MC series. There aren't many Honda sites that welcome the civic MA/MB/MC range, but this is a site dedicated soley to the M's. We have the largest database of info and tech specs on the M series, and any information you need will be found in this site. We have a dedicated team of moderators, and there's always knowledgeable members on hand to help answer any queries you have regarding your civic M. Ok, a bit of history on the club, and where it all began. The club name was derived from obviously the name of the car, which is "Civic", and the "5" because it is soley for the "5 door". Civic5 originally started in January 2009, on a freeforum and freewebsite domain. Our original name was civic-5 and we were located at this web address http://civic-5.yolasite.com (was originally "synthasite" until taken over by Yola) .Our forum was hosted by youforum.co.uk, again another free site. We were not sure how the club would be received at first, but it became apparent quite quickly that there was indeed a call for a club like ours, and our member-base quickly grew. We had considered buying a proper domain and going onto a proper subscription server, but still weren't sure if the site warranted that. So in Feb 2009, we started our sister site HONDACLUB-UK. This was initially started as a backboard for promoting civic5, as a lot of Honda owners knew people who had civic M's, so would be able to spread the word about civic5. We reckoned we would get more people joining an all Honda site as opposed to a one type dedicated site. So we decided to go for a proper domain and hondaclub-uk.com was born! By April 2009, civic-5 was busy as ever, and we were actually outgrowing the website and forum! We also outgrew Hondaclub-uk, so that site we retired just over a year later. With Civic5, we wanted to be able to have our own design on the forum and the site, a custom theme and logo that would instantly identify with civic5! So the decision was made to get civic-5 onto a proper domain, and a top notch server host. Through contacts in i.t., and also one of my family members, we found a company for hosting our site. So April 2009, civic-5 changed, and civic5.com was born. We went through several custom designs (those who have been with us from the start will remember all the different logos, colours etc we've had!! ), until we reached what we have now. The rest is history! Feel free to browse the forum, and chat to fellow Honda civic M series owners and enthusiasts. Check out our For Sale & Wanted sections for parts and cars for sale, and have a good look through our site. Our Aim/Goal 1: To be the Uk's best M series civic site, and one of the best on the web. (Done!) 2: To give owners of civic M's a site of their own. (Done!) 3: To offer as much help and info as we can to our members & visitors to the site/forum. ((Done! That's why we are the number 1 choice for MA MB MC Civic owners Throughout the UK and the rest of the Europe!) 4: To help the Civic M's gain the respect they deserve within the Honda community. (Done! With almost 1900 (Now over 4000 since 3/4/16!) genuine members, and demand for m series civics on the rise, Civic M's have never been so popular!) We have also had the club featured in the top japanese car tuning mag BANZAI, and a more recent club focus feature in Total Honda Magazine! This has been a major achievement, and has helped promote the Civic M's even further. 5: To have official traders, who can offer our members discounts on any parts/accessories they require. Behind the scenes, we are always in contact with various companies, trying to get good deals for our members, and also trying to give the traders something in return.(Done! We have various Highly respected and well known companies on board now as Official Civic5 traders, offering discounts to all our members. We have also created our own CIVIC5 branded stickers and mugs, and introduced our popular "Civic5 supporter" membership scheme making CIVIC5 a proper club! It's also made civic5.com a one stop site for all a Civic M Owners needs. We have everything covered here. Our members all say Civic5 is the best civic ma mb mc website/forum and owners club they have seen. We are widely recognized by all the top Honda forums. We hope you enjoy the site and forum too, and visit us again soon. Admin team Civic5
