  1. Deffo change the tyres front to back mate. Does the noise seem to come from the front, and if so any particular side? There can be a few things cause this, such as a caliper binding. I have a noise front the drivers side front on the deck just now due to the caliper binding (quite badly in this case!) so get a droning noise from it. Are you seeing more brake dust on one wheel compared to the other?
  2. No probs mate. A battery that's needing a good charge can also cause this.
  3. Does it still do it after you reconnect the battery?
  4. Nice find Simon. Have pur a post up in links section and in chassis section for members. Way cheaper than Honda!
  5. Handy if you need to replace your abs sensors. Much much cheaper than Honda sell them for! Around £40 odd quid each. Thanks to Dr_Broon for this one! Mick's garage. https://www.micksgarage.com/d/abs-sensors/honda/honda-civic/civic-vi-estate-1998-to-2001/1-8-16v-mc2-169-1797/products

  7. LOL you can't just leave it like that! Spill the beanz! Who's was it?
  8. yeah, the gear ratios are a bit naff in the VTi mate! 1st gear is ok, but the fact 2 gear drops out of vtec when changing up from 1st is a reall pain. Honda should have really thought out the ratios a bit better. And like you say, 5th gear revs too high for motorway speeds. Simon (Dr Broon) had his rebuilt with different ratios etc, might be worth speaking to him to see whats involved. Have seen an lpg converted vti over here a few years back which was for sale. Not sure how it drove or how much the performance was affected, but with the kind of miles your doing does seem like a good idea. LPG didn't really take off in the uk which is a shame, not many garages sell it. Wonder if I could do a petrol/electric hybrid conversion on the deck!? lol
  9. Yeah, could be just the covers missing. I agree mate, until they are a lot older both the civic M's and the ek's are deffo not worth the money some are asking for them. Think the ceiling price for both with low mileage and history should be at most 3 grand at the moment. Even then, I doubt many will pay that for them so the ones that are there for sale at the momnet for 3 grand upwards will remain unsold.Know the VTIS mb6 thats up for over 3 grand has been on autotrader for months now, as has the green ek4 and the 4 door vti. The Jordan civics are commanding big money, but as they were a very limited edition and most died of rust (rear arches on eks are shocking!) can understand that.
  10. Hi mate. If you have a healthy budget, suspension wise I'd go for the MeisterR's coilovers. I've had them on my vti MB6, and also bought them for my Aerodeck. I did have it set low to begin with, but due to speed bumps etc (I hate to hear a car scraping and the damage that entails!) I've raised them up a fair bit. It's lower then standard, but not too low now. Good balance of comfort/handling with them as they are fully adjustable. For info on what fits, have a look at the following link:
  11. Yeah, body wise looks sweet (apart from that rear bumper on drivers side like you say) If the miles had been lower would have been tempted to buy it! There's a couple on auto trader, one with mega low miles selling for almost 4 grand (which is way over the top IMO, although 3 door vti's are going for 7 grand which is just plain stupid!) Good to see the values beginning to hold on our civics though.
  12. Will be interesting to say the least!
  13. Spotted this on eBay, but found it on auto trader first. Anyone recognise it? Its only 10 mins from me and I've never seen it! Looks OK but front fogs look weird? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F263454819151
  14. Ta for the info Simon. Its Bloody ridiculous, especially the part where the diesel cars emissions must meet the speck when the car was new. How on earth is say a car (petrol or diesels) with even just 60 thousand on the clock going to meet that? Here's a thought though, and possibly the real reason behind the governments sudden eagerness to put diesel cars off the road. Did you know we have NO diesel refinery in the UK? Not a single one. All our diesel is imported. Once Brexit is in place, diesel imports will be taxed heavily. The government won't build a refinery in the UK (which would also create lots of jobs) due to the cost of such a venture. So they take the route that benefits them.....rule diesel cars off the road. They then make money on people then having to buy new cars which generates tax for them. Then, once diesels are gone, they will inflate the cost of petrol massively and we, the people who pay their wages, will be hit hard with the extra cost. And we'll have no option, because their isn't an alternative such as diesel any more. Only the option of totally underdeveloped and under researched electric cars. The government is as corrupt as ever. This new mot is going to put perfectly good cars off the road. Time for the people of UK to make a stand.
  15. Yeah, I get that mate. My brother and me were like that years ago too, although not with a track car obviously. But we did work like a wee team fixing/modding/restoring our own cars as there was stuff I could do and stuff he could do so it worked well. He's not into cars as much now (getting too old for it although he still fixes his own when it breaks most times)
  16. No ya Humpty, cos everyone else can't drive!!!! Lmao Must admit, had a go on Knockhill race track up here years ago and bloody loved it. Just something special about going round on a real track (wasn't my own car though, a single seat race car so maybe thats why I loved it!)
  17. Top work mate. I really want to do this with DD too. Always been my plan to strip her down and paint/powder coat all the suspension and chassis parts. Making me envious seeing this! Lol
  18. Yeah, expensive but as always, its the little details that bring the car to life and make the biggest difference mate.
  19. Massive improvement mate. Bet they weren't cheap though! Ruby's were decked too, but for some reason DD's still look like new. Which I'm glad about! Think last time I priced them they were like £30 each?
