Ok, I'm always telling new members to get a project thread going, so thought I'd better put in mine! So, the brief.... Bought the civic from my wife when she got her aerodeck, she was the 2nd owner. It had full FHSH, and 32'000 miles on the clock! Had it for around 4 years now (she had owned it for a year) As bought, completely standard First mod was to change the rear lights, as I hated the orange indicators. So changed to later style MB lights Then I turned to the interior. Luckily for me, my wife got me a brand new, still in the box, OEM leather interior! Trouble was, it was the actual leather lit itself, from Honda, and I had to retrim all my seats by hand!! Nightmare! Well worth the effort though. Aslo fitted a cd player, JVC, then followed that with another JVC which played MP£ aswell and had a funky display, but that broke so opted for a pioneer this time. The difference in sound quality is wicked, and this one does mp3/wav etc, and has input sockets on the front Upgraded the speakers to Sony Xploads (utter rubbish they are) anyways, the interior Next, I got a rear boot spoiler for it, and at the same time, changed the rear bumper to the later style MB civic. Again, I just prefered the shape compared to MA civics, and it tied in with the rear lights I got bored with the original 14" alloys, and wanted some 15"jordan style alloys. Could'nt find a set at the time, so opted for a brand new set of wolfrace excites, with 195/50/15 tyres. These look similar so was chuffed. Also fitted a genuine Honda sunroof wind deflector, for a bit of the JDM look lol. Also fitted one to Dawns aerodeck Then it was the brakes, and although it was never gonna be fast, I wanted it's brakes to be good! Fitted Black Diamond Grooved/vented front discs, with B/D predator pads. These were ok for a bit, but the predator pads were really poor. Changed them to ferodo, and now it stops perfect! Then i thought, the centre caps really spoiled the look of the wheels, so changed them to proper Honda ones Much better Now to the front bumper, which has been buggin me. The car came with half colour coded bumpers, which meant the bottom half was just black plastic, which I hated. So, decided to fully colour code them, as I had just bought a new gun for my compressor Also replaced the grill with a new one, as the old one was perished and the chrome was perished too, and fitted MB6 H/light washers, which I think change the look of the MA big time at the front So, not got any recent pics up appart from these I took after a good clay and polish on the civic and the aerodeck Plans are.. Respray bonnet as it's a replacement one which is white! Colour code the bump strips, mirrors. Fit the VTI rear spoiler I have (with brake light) Fit the vti (standard) front lip I have Lower it Fit front window wind deflectors Fit the original MA front fogs I got for it

Looks like it just rolled out the factory!! 7 Price seems high, but that just looks so mint. I wouldn't want to mod it, has to stay as is imo. Autotrader link

Hello everyone. Thought I would share with you my new project. I used to have a project thread a few years ago but cant seem to log on to my old account and cant find my project anywhere so thought id just start a new one seeing as the car in now going in different direction . What started a few years ago as a bit of an all rounder and leaning more towards show car has now turned into a dedicated track and race car. My goal is to spend this year getting my race licence and preparing my car to enter the track attack Nippon challenge next march. This year is currently running at the moment so will be going to watch a few races and hopefully meet a few of the drivers. I have nearly all the parts for a big turbo setup which i was going to fit this summer but now i want to race im going to hold off on this as it would put me in the very competitive GT400 series. By leaving the engine standard ill be entering the GT200 series which for a novice i will be much more suited for. If all goes well and i re enter the year after ill build the engine and fit the turbo and go for the bigger leagues. For now its all about just getting into racing and having fun. Obviously seeing as it’s a racing series the car has to be built to the MSA blue book regulations which is what im working my way through at the moment. The project which im doing in my spare time has only just started and iv got plenty of time between now and next march to get the car built and tested on track days so i am taking my time. I don’t want to make any stupid mistakes either as the regulations are quite strict and im still learning. Any advice from anyone who does track days a lot or is involved in motorsport in any way would be much appreciated. Any way here is a few pics of how it stands now.

Hi There I just wanted to say a big hello to you all and to introduce myself. My name is Ben and I live in Bracknell, Berkshire. I'm a bit of a petrol head and for as long as I can remember I have been into cars, bikes and I follow most forms of motorsport. For a long time I have wanted a 'classic' Civic in my life but work and stuff have always got in the way, until quite recently that is. For a while I always leased cars as I've always seemed to need something new and reliable for work but since the end of last year I have been working from home and have coped with sharing my wifes car and walking lots! Recent family commitments meant we needed another car but I didn't want to be paying out loads monthly for something to sit on the drive so, enter the MB4! A motor dealer friend of mine took it as a part exchange and I got it from him for next to nothing. It's a little rough around the edges and has done over 160,000 miles but it's been well maintained and drives like a dream for a car that is 20 years old! Anyway, I have big plans for it going forward so will be looking for inspiration and advice from you all. Sorry for the long intro but I don't get out much!

Well, here's the build up of my first MB6. Only had her 5 days and already i'm in love with her!!! lol Oh, and she's been officially named Ruby! Goes with her Ruby red paint (ok, I know it's sicillian red!! ) I'm no stranger to M's have had my MA8 civic (blue Betty!) for around 5 years! Right, heres the info on her when I got her. 1998 S-reg sicillian read pearl 39,000 miles Full service history, 2 owners from new (Honda being the first, up to 6,000 miles, then the owner I bought her from at 38,500 miles) standard appart from A/M remote alarm imobiliser with ultrasonics (NOW REPLACED WITH NEW UPGRADED CAT 1 SYSTEM), detachable towbar (proper one from Honda , which will be coming off!) My Plan is to make her a VTiS replica, but in met red, instead of pirates black. So here she is This was on the way home at some motorway services (I spy Dawns aerodeck in the background! ) First mod was to ditch the orange side indicators for nice clear ones Next, it was onto the interior. She's spotless inside, but still gona give her a good clean, so heres how she looks now....I'll post up another once she's been fully valeted The one part of the interior that I wanted to change asap was the stereo! Was a pioneer good bit of kit in it's day, but i like me Cd's and MP3's so out it came and in its place, my Pioneer mp3 head unit (keeping it kinda oem, as it's still a pioneer ) And thats all the mods so far...........but there will be more to come. She's getting a full VTI-S body kit, VTI-S alloys (early style ones) poss tints, and a few other bits and bobs. Heres some pics of how she looks now after a wash! MODS SO FAR: Smoked side indicators Pioneer MP3 head unit (iPod compatible) (UPDATE: Now Alpine CDE9850Ri CD/MP3 with full iPod control)(Update again, now got a new Pioneer DAB/CD/USB head unit!) Powerflow Stainless steel exhaust (cat back) VTiS lip kit (side skirts still to be fitted) VTiS floor mats VTiS gearknob VTiS Speedline chrono alloys fully refurbed and powder coated in white ) TypeR Gear gator with red stitching Full leather (from ES model) fitted, along with the black door cards Honda horn (peep peep) removed, replaced air horns Lowered on Full MeisterR Zeta S coilover suspension

Hi Guys I was wondering if anyone could help. I need to replace an engine mount and was thinking of replacing them all with a set from Hardrace. I've asked them which ones would be compatable for my MB4 and they are asking me whether those for EK/EJ/EM Civics are the same? Also, would this be the same for suspension bushes? Please can someone confirm of deny this for me. Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any direct reference to it. Ben

Good Afternoon All, I have a quick question. I have a 1999 MB4 with the D16W3 engine, no VTEC for me The problem is though I don't see this engine number listed in either the maintenance guide or the Haynes manual for this car. I know it's a SOHC with a higher compression than most engines listed but I want to know that I'm following the right information. I'm guessing the details for the other 1590 CC SOHC engines that are listed would do the trick? Many thanks
