  1. Does anyone by any chance know where I could get rear trailing arm bushes? mine look a bit old and everytime someone sits in the back something squeeks over bumps? so I'm looking for bushes that will last long or could be polybush ones I'm not fussy. cheers! (civic mb6)
  2. Hello guys , I noticed today as I put car in garage that I had a slight rattle sound from under the bonnet did sound like it was more passenger side / centre of the car it did not rattle every time I revved the engine but did make the sound 2-3 times. The car had been on a long motorway journey so was nice and warm , I have noticed rattle is more noticeable when cold too
  3. I'm needing a abs sensor and have found a aero being broken close to me but I need to know if there's any difference between the abs sensors on the rear of a aero and hatch? Ie does the aero having longer wiring? Cheers.
  4. Found a great deal on a set of -40mm mb springs on the intranet tonight and I'm tempted to order them up. Problem is I plan to upgrade to mg zs 180 shocks in the future but I'm sure in the past I came across some info saying this -40mmMBspring/MGshock setup combined will end up in a total drop of 55mm??? I'll be running 15" wheels and want to keep it usable for everyday mundane family tasks so will this setup be any use? Cheers.
  5. just looking for a quick bit of advice folk. I picked my mb up a couple of weeks ago and drove around 200 miles on the journey home. The whole time the temp gauge never moved higher than the temp in the picture. I'm pretty sure it needs a thermostat but before I start throwing bits at it I just need to know is this the normal running temp?

    poly bush's

hi all, looking to make the honda a tad stiffer (insert p***s jokes) ive fitted zs 180 shocks and springs, much better, but for instance, when i push/rock the car side to side i feel it wobbles too much. whats recomended? il be using the car for road rallies, so a mix of rough forest/farm tracks and country lanes
  8. Hi, my MB2 Civic which is OBD2, has an exhaust rattle which I believe is internal to the cat; I notice it when the engine is revved, pulling away etc. (Have checked heatshields which seem OK). The car has also thrown a P0420 (cat efficiency) code and if I clear it it usually comes back within 50 miles. The MoT is due next month so I am not doing anything before and will see what the emissions are like; but if I do need to replace the cat, are the cheap cats on eBay and from EuroCarParts for about £60 any good e.g. HA8002? Will they do the job and prevent the check light coming back or do I need to spend more on a better cat? e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CATALYTIC-CONVERTER-CAT-FOR-HONDA-CIVIC-1-4-1996-1998-HA8002-/331682519400?hash=item4d39d19968:g:O24AAOSw14xWH98N Also how do I access the connector and wiring for the downstream O2 sensor; is it by removing the centre console? Is that straightforward or a pain?
  9. Will they stuck out from fenders/arches? They are already rolled and pulled by previous owner. I don't wan't any camber adjustments. Bad for tires, wallet and winter conditions. Previous owner had Japan Racing JR3 wheels with et 20-22 in the back (17x9). Sure they stuck out lil bit but it was okay with stretched tires. I'm looking at these: http://www.nlmotoring.com/Avid-1-AV-12-Wheels-16x8-Gold-p/av121680ma25gd.htm 16x8 Offset [+25mm] (I would pick 15's but can't find those locally with 114 and et25 fitment). I wonder if such "deep dish" wheels fit MB6 without camber adjustments? I mean ET 25 should be manageable if those JR3's fitted, right? But does wheel design affect how much it actually comes outwards? I've seen some EK and EG Civics with those wheels and they struggle i guess. Looks good on those but MB6 have stock ET of 55 vs. other Civics 40-45. Fenders and arches are pulled out as much as they can i'd say. Does anyone here have experience on fitting similar style wheels on MB6 without camber adjustments? Does pulled fenders and mild stretched tires solve it? Another problem i fear is caliper clearance in the front... Bigger calipers than stock Civics. If it needs spacers bigger than 3mm. i think it's a "no go" then. Assuming they would fit, what tire profile would be the best? I have now stock 15's and lowered car pretty much in the same level as wheels (stanced/slammed some would possibly say ).
  10. Hello there. I've searched the forum here and I found out that this steering wheel http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACURA-INTEGRA-DC2-B18C-TYPE-R-OEM-SRS-MOMO-STEERING-WHEEL-JDM-DC2-ITR-STEERING-/262271509980?hash=item3d1099a5dc:g:hAMAAOSwFMZWr9M8&vxp=mtr fits exactly (with no mods) to an mb1, am I right? My whole story is : I had an awful non-srs steering wheel, so I changed it to the OEM MB6 steering wheel form a guy here. I managed to install it with the clock spring. But, the steering wheel has wear and tear. So, can I just buy the above one and plug and play? Also, what other steering wheels (srs with leather strap original Honda) can I fit? Thanks
  11. I would be glad if a friendly soul could identify this ting that is attached to the intake manifold.
  12. Hi all! I'm looking for advice or guidance on what others have done with regards to wheel arch extensions on the Civic 5 door? I'm not happy with my mud flaps so need to combat the issue in a different way. If there's a post already running then let me know
  13. Fairly new to these Civics. I know a lot about the Rover 400/45 and MG ZS so know they are good cars. Is the Civic VTI suspension different to the standard Civic (non VTI)? Stiffer? Lower? Is the VTI and 'VTI S' suspension the same? What about the Civic 'Sport'?
  14. Thought I'd ask the question because I don't have a clue about it. What are the pro's and con's of heat wrapping the manifold? Is there any point? My manifold looks quite shocking but is functioning normally. I was thinking of stripping it of its accumulation of rust and s**t.. Paint it and then wrap on top..
  15. Sorry if this is a stupid question but do all m headlights fit mb6 like these

    how to?

Evening gents! Just wondering if there's a how to guide on replacing suspension.. I'm sure it's quite straightforward but considering its my first time doing it, I don't wanna make any mistakes. So a link to a thread would be great as I haven't come across one on here yet. Thanks
  17. been looking in to the CRV gearbox, i see they have a 4.5 FD, and second and third gears seem better than the s9b. question is, are the gears interchangable with the s9b?
  18. I've changed the heater resistor and it blew again, but that's not the issue atm... my interior fan keeps squeaking and it sounds like loss of power every time it does it! It's not all the time.. only when it's cold but if I keep switching the fan speed from 0 to 4 repeatedly, it stops.. can anyone tell me what the problem is? A bearing? New fan?
  19. Are they really bad lol what if you buy kit but get different turbo? I could get someone to fit kit for me just don't like the idea of paying around 3k for race-tech turbo conversion
  20. I’ve had my car for sale for a while since last year October and I’m not getting much interest. Just a couple of time wasters with lowball offers or not turning up. It’s an MB3 with low 73k mileage and fairly good condition with a few mods. I had it up for £850 then reduced to £500 now for quick sale as weathers soon to get good in next few months and I really want to go back to driving my MB6. Here is my eBay advert. I’m not advertising here, just want to seek advice on how I can help attract more interest. It is my first car and first ever time selling a car so I don’t know how things work really. Normally I see a lot of adverts with little or no description of good and bad points but I’m just 100% honest with mine. It is also on Gumtree and Facebook. Could it be that I’ve removed half the mods or the bad points that put people off?
  21. Had the MB6 for 5 days and already started getting few bits from my mate (he's a Honda breaker, and looks after me lol) he had an aerodeck vti in for breaking - got panels, lights, mirrors, front bumper, b-pipe - all for £10 each then today in a job lot he got - i got myself a set of evo 6 recaros ( he gonna throw in the seats out of the aerodeck for me to make seat frames) got them for £150 Then i also got some dc2 alloys (no tyres) in white for £50 so i got alot to do now lol - gota get the coilovers fitted, make some seatframes and sort the wheels out
  22. What should i do know or what ? More less i was revesing up the hill and i let the clutch out to hard by accident and i heard a bang and the car stopped and it wouldnt move.it was stuck in gear but we were able to revese it on up the hill and then there was a bad smell of clutch. Gear box is gone i think. He said something about a release bearing. It was on a 1.5 vtec engine, would it be hard to fix or what ?
  23. we did this once before here, as part of the MG ZS group buy of heated front screens. there is one last ever (I know I said the last time would be the last), and this really will be the last time as its not worth my time and hassle and I gain nothing from this...the last ever heated screen group buy the screens WILL come with a top tint, and are dual circuit heated. They are 25£ more than the last batch 5 years ago (inflation!) at £225+vat. its a real last minute thing coz I kinda forgot about you guys, but I have to place an order Monday 8th Feb and as before £100 deposit is required, non refundable as I would be stuck with the screen and I would still have to pay the balance, but if for any reason... find someone else to buy it, whatever, we just need to fulfil the order. Its done through Ricky Evans motorsport as before, they supply cars in the BTCC. They will not stock these screens, if they would I wouldn't have to go to all this hassle for nothing, so this really is the only way to get one, there will be none left over, what I order I have to pay for and you guys pay the same cost per screen as I do, we had to pay the tooling on the first batch, believe me, its no cheap process. Call me 07941 857777 or join teh dark side - MG ZS Owners club on facebook where there is a post, or prob better still, Jason simm on facebook, its the MGZS pic with the stelio pass in the background. Sorry its last minute, but I don't want to miss you guys out.
  24. I have been finding it difficult to find a full set of suspension with a decent drop for a decent price. However, while digging for information, I found a thread right here on the civic5 forum where someone shared a link that shined a beacon of light upon me in what seemed to be some dark times hunting for the elusive springy stuff and now I am passing on the message to whoever is looking for reasonably priced suspension! http://www.venommotorsport.com/product/suspension/SU16747/ Definitely saving up for these. If anyone has them installed, I would welcome a review on overall quality and handling.. thanks
