  1. Afternoon, So after looking for a vtis, offering to buy one but the owner wouldn’t sell and going out in one which scared me silly, I’ve finally managed to buy an Aerodeck, which I initially said I wasn’t interested in, and I love it! It was bought from a lad who’s a member on here and it’s going to be a work in progress while still being used as a daily. I’m fairly mechanically incompetent and just don’t have the confidence or tools to tackle anything substantial so unless it’s really basic work, it’ll be worked on by professionals. I don’t plan on getting rid of this car for many, many years. The photos are from the original advert.

    Prices

Just browsing - as you do - and noticed this.. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202101178067087?atmobcid=soc3 Given that as the advert says it's not in the best nick, and missing most of the interior, is £2.5k OTT, or is this just another sign that vtis are heading up in price?
  3. Hello guys, I've finally found a company which makes halfcages for our platform. So if you can put it in the tracktool, daily racecar, weekend turbo warrior, or just for the racecar looks. They have them as a weld in and bolt in. Even a DIy set if you'd like to build it yourselves. Even in multiple different colours! https://www.jp-cages.co.uk/product/honda-civic-mb6-half-cage/
  4. What is the your favourite mod that you've done to your Civic? Lets see your mods, post a photo of the mod too!
  5. So after about 18 month of breaking up my saloon I missed my civic to much so I swapped my is200 sport cross for a completely stock manual d16w4 aerodeck back in October. It’s had 160,000 miles on it, “was” really clean came with mint headlight covers and the red key still in its box unused. Couple months have gone by got it motd and started working on it. Had all this done so far. She’s had brand new HSD dualtechs, hkb boss kit, personal wheel, rear camber arms, mesh grill, ek spoiler, dewiper, de chromed headlights, roof rail delete, back box and cat delete. Plus a few other extra bits. At the moment she’s on a set of 15x7 WORK EWINGs with brand new toyo proxes TR1s (bloody good i must say much better that the predecessor ditch finders lol) Got a lot plan with as you can probably guess for the title. The main thing will be sorting the large amount of rust that’s been found behind the plastic sills. I have the car on Instagram to with updates Divergent7_7. Stay tuned

Civic5 How to guide No 8 - JDM style twin rear fog lights mod. This guide shows you how to modify your Honda Civic 5 door MA/MB rear lights to incorporate twin rear fog lights. This guide could also be used to do the same mod to the Honda Civic 5 door Aerodeck models too, although there may be some slight differences. Big thanks to member Dan1 for this great How To guide!

    HKB Boss kit

Bit of a random one that's proper left me baffled this afternoon... Original wheel is a bit grim so decided to go for a new Nardi wheel and HKB boss. Did the reading before and bought the EG/ DC2 (airbag) kit. Gone to fit it all this afternoon and the boss feels like its about 1mm too big for the spline. The teeth aren't engaging and I'm able to turn it without the wheels turning, even with the retaining nut back on the column and things tightened. It is the OH-206 kit (according to the box) but it arrived looking like it's been opened so I'm not sure if it's the correct one in the box - as surely that should fit? Or have plumped for the wrong kit? Would have also assumed that with it specifying it was for an airbag model, there'd be something in there for the airbag light delete but that cable is just left dangling in the middle of the hub at the minute... Have attached a pic of the thing offered up... any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?!

  9. Hi there! New to this forum, and new to the Honda-brand overall. Before I got the Aerodeck, I drove a Peugeot 206 GTI(NO, NOT THE 180!), unfortunatly the chassis of the 206 was en absolute wreck.. It had waaaay to much spots just to repair the bits and pieces, but I just didn't want to anymore... And as for the Aerodeck, it's underside is completely original and most of all..NO RUST! When I bought the car, is was totally stock, so I knew that no one ever messed with the car. Past few weeks I've been busy with modifying the suspention, wanted to put it as low as the roads here alow me to. And past weekend I customized my headlights together with a friend who builds custom headlights on order. Quite happy with the result, but still thinking what to do.. keep the 3000K Xenon in it, or going for a new set of 8000K Xenon, and then out yellow foil on the light-units themselves. Enough for the storytelling now, here are some pictures of my Honda Civic Aerodeck! (P.S. it has some spots and dents, but that's all gonna get fixed eventually!) Above; stock height|Down; coilovers mounted, rear was put at highest setting..xD.. Down; the work on customizing the headlights started! Too bad it was weird weather, one moment dry for 10 minutes, and before you knew it was pouring like hell. And it changed like that the entire day.... Above; just love the fog hanging in the lightbeam, gives it a bit of a "spooky" effect. Above; the day after the headlights were finished, gave the car a proper washing to check the headlights for any leaks or fog inside the units, and guess what, they're free of both! So far for the upgrades, but will definitely post more when the next parts/things are going to change!
  10. Ok, when parked up, how long does your battery stay charged in your Civic M? Let us know below! Also include whether you have an after market alarm turned on or not too. Know these cars seem to not like being left parked up with the battery connected for long periods of time, but looking to see what the average park up period is on them before the battery goes flat. And is it just a myth that it is the little clock in the dash that drains it? Use template below (copy/paste) Battery lasts: Alarm on?: Any extra info:

    Cup Holders

So, I got myself a nice deck with some Rover interior parts. But I'm not so hot on the Wood trim and gray. So I went and stripped the doors, and painted them. And I wrapped the trim. Add a dash of cheap spraypaint I then discovered, there are no real options for cup holders in the MB civic. The ones in the center console are kinda s**t. So I made my own. Put it all together Fit it to the door, and do a testfit Et voila. Cup holder. Just the other side to go. (Still waiting for parts before I close up that door.)
  12. Got a crack in windscreen which has now extended beyond MOT limit, so looking at replacement through insurance. As on policy, have a choice of company, thinking of using Autoglass. Anybody have experience of using them (or other companies) for windscreen replacement on our cars ? Reason I'm asking is, have read the procedure in the workshop manual (quite involved with lots of possibilities of replacement parts needed), I'm concerned that the job may get bodged and I finish up with a windscreen that leaks and/or trim not replaced properly. For example, to remove the old screen they have to cut through not only the bonding material but also the upper and lower "rubber dams". To remove the upper windscreen trim (held by adhesive tape) they may have to cut that trim piece out. Would they supply replacements for any removed parts (?) or have they another way round this ? Side trim moulding is held in place with plastic clips (always prone to breakage) of about 7 different designs and there's about 10 of them per side. Plus another 4 or 5 steel (could have rusted) retainers for the plastic clips per side. Again, will they be replacing these if damaged/ missing/rusted (?) or do they have another way of fixing the trim back in place ? Should I be trying to source the parts that they are likely not to have ? I notice that quite a few people have had their windscreens replaced and so far haven't found any complaints. Maybe I'm worrying unnecessarily ?
  13. Hello everybody, just joined up there, been creeping about in the background for a couple of weeks now, finally got round to joining. Got my hands on a pirates black aerodeck, with vtis lip kit and skirts. And mid spoiler. Sitting on its HOLE plans are, the infamous mgzs suspension setup (which is proving to be a royal pain to find any) orrr coilovers. as its way too low, its got shortened shocks and springs out of some other form of civic and its softer than dog s**t over bumps and bounces about like a kangaroo. Tidy the body work. And just generally keep it nice and clean. There has been talks in the background of putting a turbo on it, but who knows what will come of that, I may change my mind. Other than the suspension and a k&n panel filter with a hole cut in the box it's a standard deck.
  14. So looking to replace the drop links for the MGZS ARB on the Deck, and went to Rimmerbros as you do. They're out of stock, but using the part number on ebay brings up drop links that are also compatible with EGs. Are they the same? I always remember folk saying that the MG ones had a better design than the honda ones. MG Honda EBay
  15. Hellk im look to get the head light cleaner for my vti can anyone point me in right direction to were I csn find them

  18. I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me on something. I bought some cheep Maxpeeding Rod coilovers for my Wagon due needing new shocks. After doing a little research I got a set meant for a EG thinking they would be the right ones but it turned out that they were too short in the rear so I maxed out their length and just dealt with them. Unsurprisingly, they have now started to leak in the rear. Thing is, I want to replace them with a more sport type shock and spring package instead of a coilover thinking this would be a cheaper option but I can't find anything cheapish and readily available. I've tried looking for MG shocks but I can't find any that guarantee me a stiffer setup and trying to find lowering springs on Fleebay is a bit muddling as they say they are meant for an Aerodeck but don't list them in their info ("These fir your car" scenario). I've also had the same with websites other than Fleebay i regards to finding definitive information. Are Aerodeck shocks different or did I read something wrong and EG coilover are shorter than other models of Civic? I use to own a MK3 Golf estate and rear shocks were completely different to their hatchback versions in length and build so is this the same-ish for Aerodecks?

  20. Here we go again, time to put forward your entries for this months competition. Remember folks, it can be another members civic or even your own! Lets see what civic M you think should win!
  21. Hi all, Figured as every query I've typed in to google has brought me to this site that I might as well sign up and try contribute something at least! Picked up a VTi-S Aerodeck about a fortnight ago as a new daily and haven't stopped grinning since. Needs a tiny bit of tidying here and there, but it's all largely cosmetic - one of the former owners loved a carwash by the look of the swirls in the paint, the rear door cards are wilting a touch, minor cig burn in the passenger seat, slight nik in the rear bumper, oh and a child appears to have drawn (in permanent ink) on the b-pillar, roof liner and c-pillar but other than those niggles it's all straight enough. Sub 100k (just...), FSH, comprehensive folder of receipts, clean history and to top it off a bit of a bargain price. Think from my rough workings, it's averaging 31mpg - which is about 10mpg better than the last estate I ran, so that's another bonus too! The last owner of this was an MOT tester for Honda, so mechanically it feels tighter than newer cars I've driven as he put a lot of time, parts and love in to it! Haven't got round to doing much other than putting fuel in it and commuting so far, but I have restored the headlights (small, relatively cheap fix at least!) and I have created a healthy excel spreadsheet to work through of both jobs and parts I want for it. Car's largely standard, save for a rather mute aftermarket cat back exhaust and some generic ebay adjustable coil spring kit. Rides, rather surprisingly, exceptionally well on them. Genuinely staggered by how comfy it is...was half expecting to have binned them already, but apart from the concrete sections of the M25 its soaking up most surfaces very well. That said, combined with the Nankang tyres, I haven't dared wind it on at any point save for a straight line, but the sound gets me every time. Mid-90s BTCC soundtrack in an estate, what's not to love? But anyway, some pics: And a quick one of what was originally my daily, but it was another car I dropped lucky on and is far too mint to be using every day - hence the need for another. That, and it's getting increasingly hard to shoe-horn a growing Labradoodle in the back of one of these; Will try update this as I add/ do stuff to the Civic, but I need to move some cars on first before starting to spend more on this...otherwise I think the other half will, perhaps rightly, murder me! Cheers, John
  22. What lighting options out there are best, obviously to go in my projectors... currently got 6000 HID bulbs which the light output is good but light distance isn’t great... just wondered what routes others have gone down? And am I likely to get them any better or not?
  23. As the title suggests, lets start the new year off with the 1st pic of your Civic M this year! Here's DD to get you started!
  24. Where’s best place for pressed plates guys? Don’t want to end up with poor quality ones... they’re for the mrs car
