  1. Hi all got an opportunity to buy a gearbox from a 99 U.K. Dc2. just wondering would this have the 4.7 fd and lsd?

  3. Best place to buy upgraded mounts and what ones fit mb6, do dc2 ones fit the same. Cheers
  4. Hey guys wonder if you can help.i have a 98 5dr Civic vti and have bought a subframe tiebar & control arms(not factory) having problems finding the right bolts and Arab links to fit my control arms.also I have abs lines running over the current subframe, how do I work around this and where can I find the right links and bolts to fit
  5. Hello and merry christmas my fellow civic lovers! My name is Miltos and i would like to ask a few questions about my "new" '97 civic mb1 (D16Y3). My car atm has 185/60/14 tyres and i would like to fit some 15". 195/50/15 to be spesific. Any suggestions for wheels? Also, according to the manual the wheel offset is 5 - 5.5j. Is there gonna be any problem if i use 6.5j wheels? Thanks in advance for the answers!
  6. Fairly new to these Civics. I know a lot about the Rover 400/45 and MG ZS so know they are good cars. Is the Civic VTI suspension different to the standard Civic (non VTI)? Stiffer? Lower? Is the VTI and 'VTI S' suspension the same? What about the Civic 'Sport'?
  7. Will they stuck out from fenders/arches? They are already rolled and pulled by previous owner. I don't wan't any camber adjustments. Bad for tires, wallet and winter conditions. Previous owner had Japan Racing JR3 wheels with et 20-22 in the back (17x9). Sure they stuck out lil bit but it was okay with stretched tires. I'm looking at these: http://www.nlmotoring.com/Avid-1-AV-12-Wheels-16x8-Gold-p/av121680ma25gd.htm 16x8 Offset [+25mm] (I would pick 15's but can't find those locally with 114 and et25 fitment). I wonder if such "deep dish" wheels fit MB6 without camber adjustments? I mean ET 25 should be manageable if those JR3's fitted, right? But does wheel design affect how much it actually comes outwards? I've seen some EK and EG Civics with those wheels and they struggle i guess. Looks good on those but MB6 have stock ET of 55 vs. other Civics 40-45. Fenders and arches are pulled out as much as they can i'd say. Does anyone here have experience on fitting similar style wheels on MB6 without camber adjustments? Does pulled fenders and mild stretched tires solve it? Another problem i fear is caliper clearance in the front... Bigger calipers than stock Civics. If it needs spacers bigger than 3mm. i think it's a "no go" then. Assuming they would fit, what tire profile would be the best? I have now stock 15's and lowered car pretty much in the same level as wheels (stanced/slammed some would possibly say ).
  8. Time to vote for @powerofdreams @Daveor @dogg1210, coz mine has a wet seat belt and is scruffy as hell at the minute with scruffy winter wheels... thanks though @Chandler Still zooms though Will sort out the pics tomorrow when I'm not drunk
  9. So this lightened kaiten flywheel came this morning for my Mb2 d14
  10. Right I just put a standard backbox on the civic and I thought with a blox intake and a dc2 and whales p***s intake the induction would be loud, it's not in fact it's very quite compared to one's ive listened too on net. could the boy who put blox mani on have done something wrong? what other ideas do people think could coz this, thanks
  11. Hi everyone it's been about a week or so since I joined Civic5 so thought it was about time that I started a build thread. The Mb's been in my family since new and has been kept standard and well pampered it's whole life but after 16 years could be doing with a few upgrades so it can keep up with its modern day counterparts. Apart from a ABS sensor, couple of saggy doorcard fabrics and some lacquer peel on the spoiler its pretty much straight onto upgrades. Once I've got my Impreza out the garage and back on the road at the end of the month the civic will be going in and getting stripped down/rebuilt. Main focus is going to be on the suspension/brakes as at the moment they can only be described as tragic! Had originally planned on a ATR spoiler and Accord sport wheels but decided I'm going with something completely different now. Anyway enough talking here's some pics....... First job is to definitely sort out the tailgate!
  12. Hi All, The lights stay on the heated rear window button and the interior air circulation button, and you can also turn the blower fan on with the ignition/ engine turned off? This old battery first died from what I think was this issue last winter after stopping at a freinds for a few hours. That battery lasted ok from then till few weeks ago when is died twice in a day , replaced battery for new and all seemed fine, untill today. Hadnt been driven for a day or so, the lady got it jump started from a neighbour, went swimming then came back out to find it had died again. Looks like she made sure everything was turned off after get home as ive tested it this evening and started fine at 18.30 then again at 23.00pm no problem. Ive tightened the negative battery terminal as it was a tad loose, and checked any relevent fuses but cant see again that would cause this problem. Went the old battery died a few weeks ago I noticed the lights had been on, I jump started it, took it for a drive and went I stopped I could turn off the ignition and the lights where no longer on and all switched off fine. This evening however, ive been out once, and am also tresting it now and every time I turn off ignition I can can still operate the blower and the two lights mentioned above. Could this be an ignition switch problem? Or is there some cut of switch somewhere? I hate electrical faults....
  13. This is my first mb/ma honda, before this one i had an mint white ED6 civic which i unfortunately crashed.. it's an MB1 1.6iLS 1998 i've had it a little bit over a month and already love it! the way it drives and corners, just a well built car! if u have any ideas what to do to it to make it even more better looking then comment!
  14. Hi guys, So I've found out that the noise which I thought was standard is actually my input shaft bearing. And comparing it to every video on youtube, etc it sounds the same and behaves the same. Which is annoying, as I replaced the clutch not too long ago! So, questions. I've watched a video on replacing the bearing and it looks simple, just time consuming. This is obviously the cheaper option. I'd be doing it myself. Or just replacing the entire gearbox. Now I could either replace it with a OEM one or I know that people have changed to other gearboxes... Question is, what are the benefits/downsides and is it worth it? Car is completely stock, other than lightened flywheel and MGzs shocks... Would look at doing other things later, but lets fix her up first eh? So, replace bearing? Go for OEM gearbox or other gearbox? Mb3 so D15 engine
  15. So, I more than likely need to change pretty much most of the bushing son the car. I know the busing on the rear lca's are pretty much fubar so want to replace them asap and then have a look at the others. Am I right in thinking that these will fit but are also considered to be pretty good in terms of stiffening the chassis up, etc? Pros and cons? http://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car/honda/eg/suspension/energy-suspension-hyper-flex-poly-bush-kit-civic-eg-92-95.htmlhttp://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car/honda/eg/suspension/energy-suspension-hyper-flex-poly-bush-kit-civic-eg-92-95.html Using mg zs shocks with oem lcas and eibach springs... If there's somewhere I could buy the bushing for the lca alone that'd be great but wouldn't be surprised if buying them from Honda would be almost as much as the entire kit linked? Sorry for the masses of posts lately... Just want to make sure I do things right Oh and if someone could point out to me where to buy an input shaft bearing for my civic that'd be great... Other than ringing Honda up. Oh and I remember reading somewhere that they have to be black otherwise it wouldn't pass an mot? Is that correct?
  16. Good evening everyone, Im thinking in buying a pair of BC coilovers for MB6 but with the 8kg/6kg spring rates. Anyone here using these coilovers ? any feedback? On ebay it says they fit EK EJ and MB6, they will sit right ? or they will be like others coilovers for EK that they sell saying it fits MB's ? Thanks
  17. So, I've seen some wheels I'm interested in that would think would look bomber on my mb. Currently running 14" steelies with profesionally (read, 5 min job) matt blacked hub caps. Which look alright considering. But, I've added mg zs shocks and lowering springs and want to minimize that arch gap and run some bigger wheels. There's no mention of the ET so I'm diverting to the expertise of you guys. I understand that 7.5j and 9j are width of the wheels. Am I right in thinking that one set are thinner than the other, so thinner on the front, thicker on the right? Or am I completely wrong? It's a 3-4 hour drive there and back to get them so would rather not waste my time... So size of the the wheels on the add are 16" 4x100 7.5j and 9j...
  18. I'm wondering if the people with P28s had any issues with their ECUs/cars with immo systems? I am swapping ECUs to either chipped, Hondata or standalone and know the MB has an Immo system and know some people swap in a "immo bypass chip" on certain ECUs. Has anyone had to have a bypass chip? Or any other issues? I'm raring to get started doing the build but want to get everything ready all at once!
  19. Hi Guys, Car started making this noise recently and I'm pretty sure it's not normal. It's far more noticeable in first gear then any other gear. If I keep the revs below a certain point then it sounds normal the entire way but where's the fun in that? I'd only bother with the first 40/50 seconds or so... Also, pretty sure that sometimes there's more/less noise from the gearbox/clutch. I'll try and get a video of that soon...

    Wheel fitment

Hi! I'm about to fit my wheels outer a bit with spacer. BUT... its possible on rear, that arch is cutted short... on the front... its already scrubbing when turning left or right and theroad is a bit bad. So, how to make nice fitment, get the wheels out to line of the arch? pictures, ideas, tips? I need around 10mm i think, but Idont want to dent my front fender arch :\ pics about current setup:
  21. You heard the man... Get voting already... what are you lot waiting for @dogg1210 @powerofdreams @21cardo @JK1245 @Anthony @Chandler
  22. HI, Recently got some MG ZS shocks. However, the bolt holding one of the rear shocks is seized on and the bolt is now rounded. Thought the easiest way would be to just replace the LCAs completely. Either by getting a second hand one or buying new ones entirely... It's an MB3. Which LCAs do I go for, where do I buy? AND if I was to upgrade to an MB6 later one, are they also the same fit? And where do I source new bolts?
