Always worth doing mate as the standard stuff is just basic speaker wire, so never going to give the very best sound. Sure the speaker wires at the actual speakers are not arcing/earthing onto the metalwork of the door? I've had that before, produced similar result to what your experiencing.

Gorgeous looking aerodeck John, loving that!! But omg that Lude!!!!!! That is amazing, good call to preserve it and retire from daily duties. Looking forward to seeing a lot more of these two fantastic Honda's!

Some of these muppets on ebay should be shot, they have no clue at all about car parts and are just wanting to make a fast buck, On the plus side........way to go Tubs for firing up so easy!! Good to see her heart beating again!

lmao, not as fast as you'd think as there are sheep and coo's everywhere.......great if you like that kinda thing as a bonnet mascot, not so great if you like the shape your car is just now! lol Mind you, would be good for the civic5 bbq! It is indeed......but at the end of the straight you're into some nice twisty sections. Really is an epic road although a few of the corners are blind so have to be a bit cautious as the roads narrow and there are sometimes 4x4's, tractors and sometimes flying livestock! That road is gonna be Gayle and mines summer commute, what a great way to start and end your day eh!

Damn! We've packed all the garage stuff up into boxes now (tools, haynes books etc) so cant get the wiring for ya bud. Is it not in the downloadable manual we have on civic5?

Just had Mindy out for her first proper drive since end of October last year. Was freezing cold, but sun was shining, roads were dry(ish) so we went for a run down to our new house to get an idea where we're gonna build the garage, sunhouse etc. And yes, roof down! Did lunch again in the wee village cafe, then went for a wander round the village. Folk are so friendly and it's just relaxed and quiet. We drove back over the moors road that goes from Stow to Lauder then up the A68 to home. Thought I'd stop to get some quick photos of Mindy! Where we stopped is literally 2 mins drive from the cottage (less than half a mile) so this is what we have on our door step roads wise! And good to see the MX5 love is still there on the open road........got a wave from a mk3 then shared a lights flash with a mk2 that had the hard top fitted (wonder if either are on here?) Awesome wee run and think Mindy likes her new drive way/village

Those wheels look superb mate. And totally hats off to you for doing that vinyl wrap yourself, looks spot on in the photos! Not an easy thing to do but you've pulled it off. No....hang on.....wrong choice of words! If you've pulled it off it'll be back to original again lol! Ok, so not an easy thing to do but you've nailed it man! Be nice to see this in the metal, you fancy coming to the civic5 BBQ/run/camping stay over at Chez Gayle and Daves new place and the new HQ of Civic5 in the borders?

I've got 16" wheels on my Aerodeck, think the tyres are 195\55 R16's though. When I first fitted the lowered suspension, the tyres would fowl the plastic arch liners on the front when in full lock when going round roundabout's. I then raised the suspension a but and that stopped it. I think it will depend on the offset of the 16" wheels you fit, the width of them plus the height of the car that will determine whether you'll get away with the 205's mate. There are probably other members here who have them fitted though so be good to hear what set ups they're running.

Sad you've sold the mb,was one of the most memorable civics that have been in the club mate. Big fan of yhe 8th gen civics, have had 2 myself. That Lexus interior looks amazing though!

Yes mate, no need to host elsewhere, you can upload directly here. There is a size limit (I'll need to log into the server to check as cant remember off the top of my head) but its quite a generous size, especially compared to most other sites. I'll look into this mate. If you try to upload one just now and its too big it should pop up a message saying what the limit is. Bearing in mind though that the standard photo size (in megabites, not pixels) is something like 3000 mb its always a good idea to resize them. Type in "johnsadventures.com" in google and on his site is a free image resizer (hes a programmer and makes free opensource software for folk) Its a superb wee program can resize one photo or a whole folder of photos in a few seconds to what ever size you want. Unusually set them to max 1000pixels wide as most other forums that I'm on don't allow any bigger.

Yeah, deffo think the projector itself will be the big governing factor in this. As Simon says, be a good idea from the guys who make these lights see if they can help.

Similar to your previous set (were they Rota Grids?) but these will weigh about the same as a couple of feathers! Nice, the gunmetal looks mean against the white. Awesome stuff the Rays.

That's a really good point mate. Think the free-er flowing exahusts will deffo raise emissions due there being an increase in the fuel being delivered. The cat plays a big part, as do the 02 sensor/egr valve. Either of those can dramatically increase the emissions.

Water only ever travels down mate, so it could be either coming in around the rear load lip due to the boot hatch seal. Could also be the rear sunroof drains are blocked (although be buggered if I could ever find them on these!) as this allows water to run down the inside of the c pilar which would lead to where your seeing the water. Think as Jake also says, the sealing around the two rear side windows if gone would allow the water into that same section. Not sure if running sealer round them on the inside would be effective as they're fitted from the outside using bond. Might be worth having a search online (youtube etc) to see if you can remove the rear windows without breaking them. if you can, would be worth redoing the bond and putting them back in. Bit of a pain and a bit of work but much better than having to get the car welded if the water rusts her out (which it will eventually).

Not too sure with the projectors tbh mate as never had projectors on any of my cars. Think it will go the same as for standard lights though and be brand dictated. I've had loads of different bulbs by different manufacturers, but think the best I've had are the night breakers by Osram. Not sure if Osram do projector bulbs, worth a look? The other thing is obviously on our oem lights the spread/distance is governed by the plastic lense pattern, but with your custom lights where the lense is removed the it's the projector itself that dictates the range/spread/beam pattern. Maybe some projectors have better distance than others? But to swap the projector over for other ones would I imagine be either a non go or a huge pain?

I (for some sad reason!) always recognize the reg of cars that have been in the club but I honestly can't place that one. Don't think it's been in civic5 before although maybe someone else recognizes the reg? Too far from me also, but looks really nice. Seems to have plenty decent parts in there, and if the shell is good underneath like it is on top then a really nice car.

Plenty space for camping mate, garden is huge!! BBQ sounds a great idea too! The roads down there are amazing too, all right on our door step! Think we might just need to make this happen!!

Haha! You up for it too Simon? Was gonna give Simon and Gav a call too along with Sarah and Dave. Plus anyone else that's would be up for it you're more than welcome guys! Will need to get moved in first though and get the bulk of the work done but might be able to do it later this year? Would be the first civic5 meet where we can all have a right laugh/drink etc, and the village has an amazing wee cafe that does evening meals on a Friday. Plus there's the train to Galashiels just 5 min walk from the house if we all wanted to go for a wee night out in town?

Thanks Ali mate. Yeah wee Mindy-moo is coming along nicely, although slowly. Meant to take a pic of her latest addition that I fitted at the weekend. She now has the chrome air vent trims so think that pretty much finishes off the interior, although we quite fancy the chrome style bars too or possibly a small roll bar in silver. Gayle was serious about the camping bit mate! Thing it would be a right laugh eh!

Think maybe 5mm, although not sure on how much travel there is in the suspension as didnt take her out on the road so 5mm might do intitially but might run into issues. 10mm I think would clear it, but then the wheels will be directly in line with the arch i think. Tis weird indeed, as these rims are deffo not deep dished so really surprised that it was against the suspension on the rear. Massive pain in the butt but I'll need to have a look at her old alloys and take it from there. Tyres are like blooming new as well, so even more gutting!
