  1. Yeah sure it'll work fine. Just the longevity isn't it. As you say when something breaks... Upgrade it. You'll be hooked once got a bit of boost!!!
  2. That's fair mate. Did you buy the kit as a complete package?
  3. Wash day yesterday. Been Daily driving the car and was absolutely filthy. Using macguiers tech wax 2.0 love it. Real easy to use and seems to stay put. Nice glossy finish aswell.
  4. Looks like it's coming on well. Not being critical but I'd have saved the cash for the skunk intake and splashed out on a decent exhaust manifold. I fear that will constantly be cracking. Looks good tho.
  5. You need to connect the pcv up. The port on skunk manifold is in the front. Need a longer hose. Alternatively you can remove the whole black box and use appropriate fittings to vent crankcase into a filtered breather box. If you are planning on turboing the car you will want some sort of open vent eventually to allow blow by to escape. Personally I vent the rocker cover and leave the pcv system intact to work in normal driving situations.
  6. Yeah the throttle cable on your b18 has the bracket on the throttle body. When I say shorted mean shorter than dc2 cable. Not shorter than the mb cable. Mb cable is too short.
  7. Ek4/9 cable is the cleanest install as it's shorter iirc
  8. Yeah just need to make sure its complete. If your seats have a proper retractable middle belt. You will need the latches that hold the rear seats back. You will also need middle lap belt and also the 3 buckles
  9. If I was going to look for repair panels I'd go to rimmerbros.co.uk and search for mg zs or rover parts. They sell many panels. Altho unsure of a particular section like that. Usually I'd say of you can find a good welder rather than just enough to get through the mot kinda guy. Should be able to do a decent repair. I can recommend dynodaze he repairs many old jap cars to a very high standard. Located Nuneaton. My be to far for you though.
  10. This is a real common place on these cars, weird because the other versions of the civic don't suffer here at all despite having an almost identical design. It's been said before about leaks on the windscreen potentially being partly to blame. Might be worth taking the plastic away in the footwell and pulling carpet back. I recon you might find a bit of rust on the inner sill aswell. Once you have repaired it. Best thing to pump the sills full of underseal or wax and any other cavities. For example where those rubber bungs are on the for have them out. And spray underseal in there. I'd leave the bungs out myself.
  11. If its short fair enough. But think worst case. You want a fuse at the earliest point Else if in a crash or if live shorts to ground for any other reason. That cable will carry massive current. Biggers fine. Use quality lugs suitable for the current aswell.
  12. You can buy universal battery trays from eBay. Use some good thick cable. 25mm2 at least to get to the fuse box and run through the car. You will also need to fit a fuse and an isolator next to the battery. You don't want a long run of unfused cable running through your car. You can connect battery negative anywhere on the chassis. So literally next to where ever mount the battery.
  13. Goes alright. Boost comes on hard. Very different to my last boosted honda with td05. Very wet though looking forward to a nice dry day to put it through its paces.
  14. Yeah was referring to cleaning up the carrier's. You can get piston kits off eBay and repair the calipers yourself. Failing that if you want new calipers. Dynodaze performance parts do them.
  15. Thanks dude. Been a bit of a journey. Well just starting really. Need to sort the rest of the car out now.
  16. Engine side of things is sorted now. Mapped today. 7 psi spring in wastegate. 14 psi via electronic boost controller. 394bhp 360 odd at the wheels.
  17. I might be able to point you in the right direction. But also to save money. If you hit yours with a wire brush and paint them I'm positive you can get them looking as New with not too much effort
  18. all the fab work is done. Been a bit awkward by sounds of it.
  19. Don't need to Dremel anything mate. If you want to fit obd1 ECU just cut two slithers off the plug with a Sharp knife. It's self explanatory if you try plug one in.
