  1. can't mind if there's a clip on the rear hub for the abs sensor maybe? or is that one of the clips the rear bumper screws into on the corner of the wheel arch?? that might be it!
  2. Is that part plastic? Can't for the life of me remember seeing it on DD. Only thing I can think of is if you look between the rear crossmember and the back of the fuel tank, you'll see the wiring harness for the ABS. Pretty sure the pass side has a clip similar to that to hold it up?
  3. Still looks not too bad mate, although can see the water marks on the plastic sill covers again. I'm going to fit her VTiS ones so won't have that problem much longer lol.
  4. No mate, I had the VTiS Speedline Chronos. The ITR DC2 wheels are I direct fit I think from memory.
  5. deffo, although these last few days of brilliant sunshine means because it has a metal roof, its like an oven! keeps DD nice and dried out though!
  6. Not seen that one, is that up under the dash near the steering column? Sure I read that ours are either OBD1 or OBD2A?? deffo can't take the scanners they use nowadays.
  7. Lovely looking car, mate, sitting well on those rims too. The undersealing looks to be a good job though, I'd be inclined to leave it as is until it shows signs of needing redone.
  8. The HT leads are easy to break, especially if they're only. Which one was it (number 1 cylinder, number 2 etc)? Is there any clicking sound when you try to turn it over?
  9. 2nd thumbs up for Powerflow. Got one custom built for our deck, still on it 12 years later and never had a single issue with it. Bit pricier than some, but can't fault the quality. We wanted it built to almost OEM spec, so the car is really quiet during normal driving (wouldn't even know it wasnt standard exhaust) but has a nice tone to it if you give her beans. Will eventually get a Powerflow built for my Mini too, cant beat them imo.
  10. Lol, garage is needing a few repairs to the base unfortunately. The company that laid the raised concrete base for it made a bit of an arse of it. The rear of the garage is raised up about 3 feet due to the slope of the garden, unfortunately they only built a timber surround for the base (should have been brick) so the wood has moved out at the rear allowing the hardcore underneath the concrete to move slightly. Now has a crack in the floor right up the middle from front to rear, and a smaller crack to both rear corners. 😒Guy that owns the company is a dick, not interested in putting it right so having to either get another company in or do it myself. It's on the list! Is set up nice in there though, did all the electrics and lighting myself so super bright led lights etc and nice bench to work at.
  11. Yeah, was stressing thinking she was getting bad rust wise at the rear. Can sleep at night now knowing she's solid lol. Once I get new tyres on the cades alloys they'll be going back on. Can't believe she's been sitting in the garage for a year now since her last mot ran out! Luckily wee Poppy Cooper has been handling the daily duties well!
  12. Decided to start getting to work on DD! After being underneath her trying to suss out the ABS fault, I noticed she had a fair bit of surface rust at the rear. Before we moved down here, I'd done rust treatment then fresh underseal from the front of the car up to where it stops at the rear arches, but never got round to doing from there to the back. Front still looks in decent shape, as do the floor pans etc. So decided I needed to get to work on getting this done. Have started on the drivers side wheel arch/inner arch and suspension. Got it all buffed down with the grinder/wire brush wheel and it was nowhere near as bad as i thought. Metal beneath the surface rust was still nice and shiney. So rust treatment to the arches/inner arch and the suspension, followed up with a good coat of red oxide paint. Then on with a fresh coat of underseal. Did the suspension arms etc in satin black paint. Looking pretty decent for an old girl! This shows what's still to be done and compares to the drivers side that I've almost finished. The drivers side looked as bad as this when I started Another small detail that's been bugging me since she's been on her winter-standard alloys was I'd lost the original small chrome wheel nuts. Had been using the extended ones that the Cades alloys need, but these stuck out too far and were rusty as hell. So, ordered up some nice new OEM ones for her. A little detail but one that I think makes a big difference. And just a couple of her how she sits just now Have also refitted the OEM sunroof wind deflector as the water leak she has when it rains isn't coming from the sunroof. narrowed it down to around the top of the windscreen where it's getting the top drivers side corner of the roof lining wet. Another job o the list! Tking the rear calipers off too to give them a good clean (have also rust treated them) before giving them a nice coat of silver VHT paint. Going to take of the O/S Brake disc while I'm t it to get better access to clen the abs ring as it's difficult to do just through the small gap where the abs sensor sits. Hoping that solves the ABs issue but we'll wait and see! Still happy that even though she's now 24 years old, she's still never had or needs any welding. really good nick!
  13. Welcome to the club mate, long time no see lol. Decl looks pretty mint behind the sill covers, cracking base to start with.
  14. The saga continues! Hooked the battery up, started her, lights back on again! Thinking maybe the abs ring needs a clean?
  15. Gayle suggested hanging cd's on the hedge next to car.......etc voila, wee birds doesn't go hear the car now. They still poop on them when flying tho! Lol
  16. Cheers man! Yeah, the Nisan dealership in the town along the road from here are ace, have a really really good rep. Feel we can actually trust them, although still early doors yet i guess. But deffo been great with what they've done, and price wise for a dealership they're not too bad. The wrangle with ATS we didn't go any further (except some really nasty reviews left on all the review sites 😉 )as it was going to cost us even more money for a lawyer/start a case against them and they've already cost us enough as it is. Plus my mental health aint in a good place at the moment with stress/depression so didn't need the extra stress going to court would bring. However, have been slating them to everyone we know (and even foilk we don't know!) because one thing we've learned living in a wee village the Scottish borders is that word of mouth (aka jungle drums) spreads like wild fire here! So hoping to save other folk the same hassle and hopefully loose them a lot of business. Any luck, ATS will pull out of Gala. Oh, one wee update on Poppy........the chrome mirrors are gone! I decided I preferred the oem piano black ones so have swapped them about. It was also to get rid of this annoying little blue tit bird that kept landing on the car all day everyday because it's facinated by it's own reflection! It was funny to begin with, but after washing the car, the door was covered in bird shit within 20 mins! And that was a constant......go out and hose it off....20 mins later, covered again! Wee dafty! lol
  17. That's amazing that you're learning toweld mate, something I've a,ways wanted to do. My dad was a professional welder for 40 yrs and was always going to teach me once he retired. Sadly passed away before he could teach me. I tried it at high school (this is going back to about 1984 so think before mig and tig really became the norm) and I was totally pants at it! I was shit scared every time it struck an arc! lol Handed the rod to the teacher and said F*&ck that, you do it! lol😄 I will learn one day though as it's deffo something I still want to master. Post up pics of your box you made too mate, nice to see how you're starting out and then what it's like when you've gotten the hang of it. Will help me see where I'm going wrong too when I start lol
  18. Deffo caught that just in time and luckily looks like it hasn't spread under the screen. Love seeing these civics getting restored now, not something we ever thought we'd see when we started civic5 back in 2009. Back then the civic eg/eks were already being restored whereas most of that honda scene were buying our civic m's just to Rob them of the engines to put in said eg/ek's. So hats off to you and also our other members who are restoring their civics. Values are eventually only going to go one way with these civics.
  19. Toyota Crown is an amazing car, loaded with kit and the ultimate cruise mobile. Can look so sweet modded too.
  20. Deffo doesn't look like there's enough clearance to get that out. @KiNK43 You did the ones on your mb6, did they have similar clearance mate? Not a job I've done myself so not sure.
  21. Not done these myself as usually get a garage to do them for me using a press. Think you're right though, looking at the pics deffo can't see how it's going to clear it enough to get it out. @KiNK43 might know as he replaced all the suspension on his turbo's VTiS?
  22. Not updated for a while. Poppy been doing daily duties well, not had any issues so well happy. MOT was going to run out while Gayles away on holiday in May so decided to put her in early so I don't end up with no car! lol Knew there was a wheel bearing on it's way out as could hear the droaning noise. Jacked her up and checked all 4 wheels.......front pass side had slight play, all the rest were fine. Thought I'd put her in anyways, see if she passed with the wheel bearing then I could just change it once i got paid. Well, that didn't go to plan! She passe the 1st mot we put her through a year ago fine. This year she failed on: N/S/F wheel bearing (which we expected anyways but chanced our mit) Front left to right brake pipe corroded to excess Front to rear Brake pipe corroded to excess and weeping. I too was weeping when i saw the bill! lol😆 To be fair, they were still the oem pipes so no shame to it really, and deffo not nthe worst MOT I've ever had. Quite pleased as everything else was fine and I hadn't seen the pipe weeping so glad they spotted that and fixed it. Got the garage to just do all the work as I don't have it in me at the moment, so was £350 plus the mot fee. And they got it all done that day for me (even staying past their closing time to complete it for me) so very happy. What a difference driving her now without that awful wheel bearing noise!! Poppy now back to daily duties and driving ace! Next job to do is on the interior as quite a few creaks/rattles/squeaks for the dash plastics now so going to remove all the trims and line the back of them with felt which will get rid of any unwanted noises. Got the big pack of felt (self adhesive so will make it easier to fit) here ready for the job. Just need to get my head in a better place so I can start it!
