Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)
Dave replied to Dave's topic in Other cars
Not done much to Roxy the last week while, but finally decided to fix something that's been doing my nut in! When I took the double din unit out of the TypeS, I had to leave the DAB Ariel in place as it was one of those stick to the windscreen types. I bought a different one for when I fitted the double din into Roxy, it was like a small square box with an Ariel coming out each end of it (which I thought would be better). Sadly, it was shit! I couldn't get any more than 5 stations, and even then they dropped off every few hundred yards! So went and bought another one to stick to the screen. Got this fitted and also wired in the power feed for it and the difference is amazing. Got a whole ton of stations now, with zero drop off in signal. Never really used the radio before as always preferred listening to my own music, but since I fixed it I listen to the radio more than the USB now! If anyone's fitting a DAB, get the autoleads windscreen antenna from Halfords. Works amazingly well! Next plans are to fit the new front discs I bought for her a while ago!- 340 replies

That bay looks awesome, big filter looks much better mate. Bet it sounds mad now too! Quite fancied a quick shift for the mb6 when I had it but never got round to buying one. The shift in the TypeR is already short so not sure what it would be like with one. One sorted focus St! -
The blue one mate, sure I've seen it before. Even the engine bay looks familiar.

Looking good! Just done my TypeR with the back to black aswell, always makes it look like new again. Also helps keep the tyres in good condition too, those Toyos got it every time the deck was cleaned

That looks mint mate!

The VTi/VTiS have slightly stiffer springs due to weight difference of the B18 But as Krzys said, they VTi/VTiS are exactly the same car apart from cosmetics.

Ok, guest accounts now reconfigured. Verification code now required to post so should stop the spam but still allow genuine folk to post.

yeah, those are MA headlights so wont fit the mb6. MA8(1.4) MA9 (1.5) MB1(1.6SR only) are all pre-facelift civic M's. You need the facelift ones, which are a lot easier to find. I might be selling my spare set so if you're stuck let me know. Was gonna keep them and either mod them or just have them as spares incase of any bumps, but they keep getting in my way!
-
Very clean looking deck mate. Yeah those OEM headlight protectors are mega hard to find now, got them on my deck too. Should look good on the vtis wheels too!
-
Just the wrong time of year to sell it mate. As said above, most folk are still doing after Christmas etc so car market drops off until mid spring. Surprised at the lack of interest, as the 1.5's are a cracking m to buy. Great mpg and decent amount of performance. I'd considered the 1.5 a few times in the past! Feel free to post it for sale in our classifieds all bud.

I think it's covered in the downloadable service manual mate. I had the same problem with mine years ago but can't quite remember how I got it out, I'm thinking it does just pop out though mate. -

Thanks for the group buy invite Jason, would be a nice addition to the civic M's. I'm skint just now so will need to pass on it, but hopefully there'll be some takers for this!

Damn want to see those wheels on the car! With the drop in height and those rims, that should look really sweet mate. Loving the front spoiler too, looks great! Is it flexible?

need help asap with my gearbox ? i think it busted or something
Dave replied to GANNERZLAD's topic in Engine & Chassis
Yup, release bearing sounds about right mate. If that's gone, you won't be able to select/deselect gears. Gearbox out job, new release bearing in and probs best to fit new clutch at same time. Gearbox itself should be fine.- 4 replies
