    It's not too far down mate, in a wee village called Stow. It's 7 miles outside Galasheils, and it was top of our list of places to live in the borders. We never dreamed we'd be able to get a house there as the prices (when they do come up for sale, which aint often) is way above what we could afford. But this wee cottage came up, semi detached, 3 bedrooms, massive (as in bloody Huge!) living room and tons of land! On one side there is the old ruins of a church which is illuminated at night and looks stunning (and the neighbours are dead quiet!) and on the other side, another big church, then acorss the road it's the river and a view out over the hills. It's bloody amazing! We only got it cheap though as it needs renovated (so electrics, windows, possibly heating) and the interior is like stepping into the 70's! A lot of work but we are really looking forward to getting stuck in. Oh, and there's a massive long driveway, a single brick garage with a car port to the side and Gayle has told me I've to get another double garage same as the one here built! We spend a fair bit of time going down for lunch at the weekend in the village, people there are so nice. Gayle has also said that as the drive is so long (you basically turn into our drive off a small lane and it is like a road through the garden right along the rear garden) we could start a civic5 meet there! has even suggested if memebers wanted to they could bring tents and camp in the garden!! Oh the possibilities!

    Soooooo, DD has been performing well in her daily duties, although I still cringe at how dirty she gets! Anyhoo, the snow arrived today so after clearing a space in the garage got her in to fit the winter Ghetto wheels. Took me ages, quite out of breath at times so seems I still have a way to go on the fitness thing after the heart attack. My mate arrived as I got to fitting the last two wheels so gave me a hand. A lot of faffing about as I have to drive her onto a plank of wood as the trolley jack wont go under otherwise because she's lowered, so reinforcing my idea to get her back on her oem suspension. So, fitted the last wheel (nsr) and then drove her out of the garage. Disaster! Horrible grinding at the rear! Thinking it may have been the hanbrake/caliper seized, drover back in then faffed aboiut getting her jacked up again. Took the wheel off, and could see a line on the inside edge of the wheel where the paint had ground off. Looked at the rear suspension, and the wheel was grinding off the trailing arm. Might have got away with a wheel spacer, but A: dont have any and B: spacing them out would then probably cause em to rub on the arch (again cos she's lowered). Gutted! So, had to swap the wheels all back to her dished Cades again. Her tyres on these wheels are needing replaced asap, as the inside edges are wearing out. Again gutted as these are Pirelli pilots or something so decent tyres, but no good if they're on there way out. So now theres snow on the roads here, and DD's on her summer low profile tyres and lowered suspension. Can see me getting stuck very soon! Plan B is to get the winter tyres taken off those steel rims and put them on her old OEM 14" alloys. Those have rotten tyres on them at the moment and the wheels badly need a refurb, but at leas I know these fit! Trouble is I'm skint at the moment so the saga continues!

    LOL been done for a while now chaps. Today was the first time she's turned a wheel since around End of October, not been started since then either! Due to us preparing for the move to the new house, One side of the garage is full of stuff from the loft. Went out today as I had a plan to get DD's winter wheels fitted now that the snow is here. So fired up Mindy (first flick of key and running sweet as a nut! ) and moved her out of garage, took her a wee soin up the road to the roundabout and back. Then moved all the stuff to her side of the garage. This leaves the side that DD (the easy side to drive into) free so I can store Mindy, then if need be move her out to work on DD. DD's ghetto wheels have caused a saga....read all about it in her thread! No Happy! I'll see if I can get the link to it mate, genuinely great stuff! I posted up on MX5 OC as someone there was asking about it so will post it up asap Jake.

    Loving the detail mate, even the bracket/frame for the intercooler looks class. My mission is to deffo see this in the metal! Consider your vtis on my bucket list....................no....wait a minute that sounds wrong! lol

    Liking the sound of that upgrade, especially with it retaining the 4x100 pcd. Just make sure the bore of the drive shafts will fit with your exisiting g-box

    It would be doable, but its only 175bhp/177 lb⋅ft in standard trim. The B18 from the mb6/mc2 is around 170bhp and much more tuneable.

    Wow, what a bugger!! That's what kinda put me off taking the TypeR over to the ring, worried about the hassle of getting it home if it broke down or if really unlucky somebody hitting it while on the track. So decided against it. Good to see it all coming apart to find the culprit to the engine failure, and fair play to doing all that youreself mate!

    Oh and air bag is fully functional with the dc2 wheel so all's good. Note DC2 wheel is all black leather, mines is two tone blue/black as I had it recovered to match the custom leather retrim Dawn had done to the car.

    Hi Martin, so good to see another VTiS aerodeck being saved. These are indeed a rare beast now, so deffo worth fixing her up. Clutch could be the slave cylinder that's on way out, clutch needing bled? Cant remember of you can adjust the biting point on these although 95% sure you can. Rust is the biggy with these and most other civics of this era, although to be fair the Civic M's do seem to be a wee bit better at resisiting the tin worm than the 3 door civics. Keep us posted on your progress and plenty pics!

    Nicd MB6 you have mate! Love the headers, much better than the oem one and also blings up the engine bay too. Engine bay looks sweet on yours and bodywork will be mint with the work you're getting done. Enjoy the forum and get some more photos of your mb6 posted, we love photos here. Oh, and why not enter her in next months competition. Also have a look at our photo competition too bud.

    But if you got recon calipers surely they'd have the bearings replaced in them? And if so, then where are the recon companies getting them? Have to come from somewhere so they have to be available.

    Hi mate and welcome to Civic5! Stunning mb6 mate, and good choice on the wheels! Love the Speedlines, looks so good on the mb6. Also loving the black headlight mod, quite a few members here have done that and looks good! Start a project thread/topic for your car mate, we love to see lots of photos here. There's also two competitions on the go just now (Car of the Month and the photo competition) so please feel free to join in. We also have a section in members cars for "Other cars" and the rule is if you have a Renault 5 GT Turbo you must start a topic on it so we can all see it lol Absolutely love those R5's, can remember them when they were new.
