  1. Also check the wires at the starter, make sure they are tight and have good corrosion free connections. Also, are there any signs of damp/wet carpets in the front? If water is getting in, it could be that it's maybe getting to some relays or even the ecu. Wet carpets could also indicate the heater matrix is leaking which again could be soaking some electrical components causing the fault.
  2. Yeah as said above mate you should deffo not be able to turn on anything with the ignition off (except headlights). It could very well be a problem with the ignition itself and I would say that's the most likely cause. I'd get the battery on charge mate and get it fully charged up. Make sure both the +itve and the -tive terminals are both tight. Any looseness in them will cause problems with charging and will also drain the battery. The fact you can turn on both the heater and those switches would point to the ignition or a wiring fault. Do you know if the heater controls or the switches have been removed at any point?
  3. yeah mate, she's still going strong almost 4 years later with her new owner. The non Honda ones are absolute rubbish (although the parts guy at the Honda dealership was trying to save me money), they packed in in less than a week! Left me stranded at side of road. Replaced with the same non Honda part, same again in less than a week. I had to fork out £240 I think it was for the genuine Honda part and never looked back. As your em light is one when it happens, it's almost certain that's the fault mate. The replacement dizzy should eliminate the problem. Let us know how you get on.
  4. Lots of possible causes mate. Are you still getting fuel through when this happens? Can you hear the fuel pump working when trying to start it when it's happened? Are you getting the EM (Engine Management) light coming on when it happens? If so, then possible ignitor in the dizzy. This happened to my MB6 and it would randomly cut out then take a while to get started again. Eventually it gave up totally in the end. It sounds as though you may have already changed this though? Was it a genuine Honda one? I tried 2 non genuine Honda ones and both failed so ended up having to shell out loads of money one a genuine part.
  5. Yeah mate, can confirm that the max height is not far off standard ride height, but is still a bit lower than normal. I did have mine set high to start with and took it down to the height as seen in our japfest photos. Sonce then ive raised it up a wee bit, but am thinking of raising it more as theres too many speedbumps around here and although fine with just me in the car if theres passengers she tends to scrape the exhaust which bugs me. Did try just stiffening it up more but found that it only helped a lttle bit and made it uncomfortable (for me anyways) so deffo gonnaraise her a bit. Will post up pics when shes done tho probs wont be for a while yet. Deffo go for the meisters, excellent bit of kit. I think theyve stopped doing the zeta s but have a model which replaced it. (Need to check)
  6. Looks amazeballs mate! Did you not already have the S2K instruments fitted? That looks like it vame out the factory with them fitted! Nice job!

    civic fk2

Sweet new car Mae. Loved my typeS and typeR, look amazing inside and out. TypeR was too costly to run though. 1.8 is pretty good on fuel and quite quick though.

    Mb3 cutting out

Have you had the engine management light come on when it cuts out? At worst it could be the ignitor in the distributer. But that normally throws the em light on. Best to try the cheap options first before replacing that!
  9. Time to start preserving these now, always been rare but even more so nowadays
  10. Look at that Pirates black pop! Love that colour in the sun (and where the hell did you find sun in scotland in winter!??), nice pic to cheer us up for the winter that.
  11. lol showing your age Gerry remembering them!!! Sad I knew what you were talking about the second I saw it! lmao
  12. Just a case of getting the bits from the hatch mate and fitting them to your aerodeck. They bolt straight in.
  13. Yup they are indeed mate. There is also some differences between model years although it's limited to the MA/MB change over. The loops you're on about and I think one of the hinges are different?
  14. Thats the spirit! Be good if you can keep the insurance out of it mate, make her cough up. Stops them putting a cat tag on it. I take it the cops know? Hope she gets done big time! Damage to hers looks bloody minimal too which sucks!
  15. Are the chassis legs intact mate? Getting all the bits 2nd hand wouldn't cost that much I don't think. If the insurance coughs up some cash she should be repairable mate. Know what insurance is like though..... They'll just want to write it off Fight them bud.......and the silly uninsured cow! She deserves a slap!
  16. Ahh ffs! That looks pretty severe mate i take it the lex_arse driver is uninsured? Id sue the feck out of him bud. Does she have chassis damage? If its just panels/llights etc shes well worth saving. What happened to cause the crash?
  17. Yeah, my thinking too Tom. Just thought id put it out there, see what the views were on it.
  18. We have new members signing up so there will be different civic m's appearing. The fact that this is a one marque/one model site is why cotm is for civic m's only. Pretty much like most other one make/model sites. I have thought about maybe starting another section for car of the month for any car, but that would be without prizes etc. Maybe a winners photo on the home page of the forum. Problem being it might take away from our original cotm so not sure? Congrats Alex, stunning aerodeck mate

    Wheel colour

I like all 3, but the grey wins for me
  20. Garage costs for this may be quite high mate (any welding costs a bit nowadays). Looking from pics it's hard to tell how hard the impact was, but as long as the chassis legs are straight, then getting a new panel fitted shouldn't be an issue. By the looks of it you'll also need a new crashbar (for behind the bumper). It's deffo saveable though on first impressions, have seen a few that were worse than that and were saved mate. It might be worthwhile pricing up a new slam panel (think these are still available) as most garages will prefer to work with a new panel as opposed to one that's been cut from another car. Can't see the panel being more than £250 max. welding wise, if you take off everything you can it will also cut the costs for the garage.
