  1. Man it's ugly. I hope they fire the d**k that drew this abortion.
  2. As you all probably know iv bought burbleboys vti-s and very happy with it glad to be back in a Honda. Plans are to just drive it for a while as it's already sorted, save for a turbo kit next summer (possibly!) taking fly-eyes off as there just not my thing.

  4. Hello!! So, I have a 1998 Honda Civic 1.5i LS VTEC-2 5 door hatch (MB3). I need to replace the air filter and I want to buy a sporty one, I know it won't make pretty much any difference besides being more thirsty for fuel but... I want to try the thing is, I've settled for the K&N 33-2047 and I need to know if this model will fit my car. K&N's official website says it'll fit, but a lady in the website I want to buy it from says it won't. So, will the K&N 33-2047 fit my car (D15Z8)??? And if it doesn't, Can you recommend me a sporty air filter to improve the sound and hopefully increase 1 or to 2 HP??? (NO cold air intakes plase). Thanks in advance!
  5. Hello there guys and girls, my name Is Mark Gompertz and I am sort of new to the Honda scene. I've just found this forum so thought I'd introduce myself and make a thread to upload progress pictures up! So to start off.. I picked up this little big beauty from a car auction site (copart) for a fair price! Intentionally bought it to take its running gear out and put in my old micra! () But as soon as I sat in and started playing with its little gadgets like the air con, light dimmer switch, electric Windows and electric sunroof, half leather interior, seeing how much boot space there was! And then I drove it.. It was such a smooth, responsive car that handled amazingly with that LSD differential, and then you put your foot down and stuff happens! The b18c4 engine ran like it had just left the factory even being on 138,000 miles. I fell in love with it that day. (The light dimmer switch was what won me over...) The previous owner had put on a private plate and left it still assigned to the car V37 NAM which looks a bit like Vietnam which is where the the name has came from! I've had a few people mention it to me in the street like "hey it says Vietnam haha!" It's comical and brightens my day ! Lol Back to the present! 7 months and 10,000 miles have passed by and I have fiddled with a few things modification wise.. I've put bucket seats and a harness in (ran out of gas to weld brackets for the passenger harness) I've ghetto lowered it, but will buy some coilovers when I get the funds! some mega wide 16" junk dregs on with a little amount of stretch on the back, I've put rear camber bolts in to make the rear wheels legal, running something like 4-5 deg of camber ive put on vtis front and rear bumpers and side skirts as my standard bumpers were a bit battered and fogs were bus and they had the lips still on ive stripped out the interior from the back seats to the boot ive cut out slots in the bumper do reduce all that drag added a HONDA sunstrip which is mega race car HID's team heko wind deflectors red cam cover purply pink led sidelights bumper ties rear tie bar and tow hook engine wise I've put a skunk2 pro inlet manifold on, s2000 air filter, Magnacore HT leads, new OEM Honda stem seals and other various stem seals when I put a new head gasket on i got a hole of a ram horn exhaust manifold from a friend of mine that was on his b18 CR-X! my initial plan was to make a full front to back system, but.. I'm not a very subtle type of person so as you can see from the pictures I went for a bumper exit! 4-1 to a stainless 9 degree 3" bend and a 3" straight pipe to the bumper, it sounds pretty mega up the revs and pulled a lot better than when I had the standard system onł Took her to Japshow 2016 on the Micra Sports Club stand Monster truck mode enabled! At my local track on Anglesey, Trac Mon. And then I finally got round to lowering it! Also put in HID's in and took the roof bars off Sunstrip and sticker from when I went on Anglesey track! Red cam cover, s2000 filter and skunk 2 pro inlet manifold, bit of a mess but it looks a lot more tidy now I got rid of the unnessasary hoses and the IAB canister and cabon canister i picked up this exhaust manifold from a friend, had a crack in port no.4 that needed welding up which I got my dad to do as he is amazing at fiddly welding jobs and always manages to make it look neat What the system looks like in full here it is on the car! Pretty much all visable when you take the bumper off which is easy with the bumper ties As you'd expect it is quite loud.. I will be putting a silencer in the middle of the pipe from just after the bend to just before the inside of the bumper soon but it's not my main priority at the moment it pops when you tickle the throttle on overdrive at 2k revs which is fun, and sounds like a racing bike at around 6-8k Ive ordered some exhaust Spring hooks so that the collectors are tight together as I have a slight blow coming from the join, and will put some exhaust paste around to seal In the past couple days I have spaced up the bonnet 20mm and put in purpely pink led sidelights which are pretty And to bring this massive introduction of myself and Vietnam to a close (until I post up here next, the most recent mod I have done is swap over the faces from a set of integra clocks I acquired off eBay for a bargain price, and stuck them to my OEM dials, and pt in the yellow needles, still need to do the temp and fuel gauges and change the colour of the illumination lights but once it's all done it'll be great! I hope you enjoy my pretty much DIY/ghetto build, I'll be uploading pictures and some videos from now on, some of you may already know me and I already know a couple but it's nice to meet you all and fingers crossed I meet you guys at some meets /shows! Peace! -Mark
  6. I've just came across a guy selling an engine with a b16 head on a b18 block has anyone ever had experience with this setup any pros/cons to look out for cause I think I'm buying it PS would s80 gearbox go with this setup and possibly a p28 ecu all to go in my ej8
  7. Since I joined Civic5 and started seeing all the nice Ms I have wanted to have a VTI deck in Pirates Black but due to financial reasons and the price they would be selling for I was unable to fulfil my dream..The other morning I went on Auto Trader just to have a look as usual with no plans of buying a Car..but as I searched for Honda Civic Estates I saw this ad of someone selling a Pirates Black one in Birmingham so me and mrs. decided to go have a look at the car..but as soon as we saw it we knew we have to buy it..so I took it for a test drive and loved it..It's done 136k..Completely standard..2 Previous owners and the last owner had it for 8 years..and it's evident that he looked after it and didn't abuse the car..There is no rust anywhere..some swirls and minor scratches on the paintwork but nothing major..I am very happy and excited to have this car and looking forward to some nice changes Pictures from the ad. I haven't taken any yet..but tomorrow morning if the weather is nice I will take some more

  10. Hi everyone, some of you may remember me who had the silver Honda civic with the lensos. My car thread name was " My little mb2". Well i would have done this a lot sooner but i forgot my password for this site and only just sorted it out again so i can catch up on a lot of stuff I've missed and to start this thread on here on my new motor. I've not got a Honda Prelude 2.2vti which i swapped with my dad; he has now got the mb2. Unfortunately he didn't really look after the lude and the usual rust on the arches. So the first thing I did was give it a good old service , and then spent some good money getting the bodywork back to a decent standard. I purchased a good exhaust system with a 4-2-1 japspeed manifold decatted. Along with projector headlights from the states, new ep3 steering wheel and the vti bodykit. I then for the first time purchases some brand new jr racing alloys for the car which I love. 9.5 j at the back and 8.25 on the fronts. Took the car on the dyno and impressed me with a printout of 209bhp . i have probably have forgotten loads but will be adding to this thread as much as I can
  11. After an all too brief 4 months with my 'deck, unfortunately I have got to let her go. The car has been super reliable for the short amount of time that I have owned it, but after failing its MOT on 03/11/16 I simply don't have the time to get it roadworthy (hence the 'spares or repair' sale). The car is from Nov 1999 (one of the first OBDII cars), and has done a whopping 182,000 miles since then. The car drives great and the bodywork is surprisingly clean for such a big millage. It was specced with the 14" 5 spoke alloys, full black leather interior (which is in great condition), along with a working leak-free sunroof and power windows. The interior is the highlight of the car, the front and rear seats do have some small marks from usual wear but generally are in amazing condition. Other fancy extras include a towbar and a double-tip exhaust. Nice! See the pictures below for details. Note:The car will be supplied with a cassette player (not the CD player pictured). Although the car is still lovely to drive , it does have some mechanical issues. The car failed its MOT on the following points: Cracked windscreen (replacement needed) Front brake application uneven (probbs just need a clean and the sliders re-greased!) Cracked exhaust mani leaking gases (needs welding or replacement) Corroded nearside brakepipe front to rear Excessive play in front upper nearside ball joint Wiper blades need replacing Although this is only £300 worth of parts I simply don't have the time to do the work myself due to studying and working full time (and don't fancy paying a mechanic to do the work either). As well as the points above, the car does have an engine light on due to a faulty knock sensor (error code P0325) . Since I have owned the car, it has also had an oil consumption problem. She drinks about a litre every 250 miles, which is strange considering it has near perfect compression (around 190psi on all 4 cylinders) and doesn't appear to smoke all that much. The old MOT will run out on the 14/11/16, so until then she can be driven away. Any time after that and you will need a trailer (or have skills in dodging ANPR cameras ) I'm looking for £150, which I think is a fair price for all of that car Please see all the photos for details of the condition of the car, and feel free to text or call on 07975958203 or email jhwhaler@hotmail.co.uk with any questions. Although I haven't really been active on the civic5 forum , it has helped me fix many little issues (and provided hours of entertainment) over the last few months so thanks for that! Peace out

hello everybody!! let me introduice our new civic (we sold our old civic mb1 grey, too much problems with her), so we bought a recent civic, FK2 , 1.8 petrol, 68 000 km we had a long trip to get her, we fall in love of her. 5 doors, but with the 3doors bodywork (type S )
  13. Wanted. I want an mb9 aerodeck please. As standard as possible for carting my bike(s) around. <150k if possible Show me the goods!
  14. Hello all, I’m new to the forum so will give you a little back ground about me, Spent years playing around with various cars, bikes quads etc and never really had anything very fast. In the summer we went for a rolling road day at a tuners in Leicester and got talking with the owner and he convinced me to build a civic turbo. So when I left there I spent weeks and weeks searching the internet for information on Honda’s, let me tell you if you’re not used to Honda’s its very confusing with all these Ek, Eg, Ej, Mb, Ma, etc etc I then came across a lovely clean Mb6 Aerodeck 1.8 Vti and thought would make a great sleeper, as well as coming with Lsd, 1.8 Dohc as standard. Got the car for just over £1300 with full extensive service history so I was quite pleased in the end. I then took the car to the tuners for a rolling road for a health check and power run, It made 163 Bhp which is not bad considering its only lost 7 hp in 15 years, ( and has a slight exhaust blow ) Once confirmed that car was ok to start building i began to write a list of parts needed, based on what i got told i needed and normal replacement parts such as cambelt kit etc. That list over the last 6 weeks has just got longer and longer. I planned on getting it to 300 bhp, and then wanted to make sure the engine was strong enough to be used on a daily basis and now we are looking at making it a 500bhp car. Thanks for looking more pictures to follow
  15. Just seeing if anyone is interested in my engine since I won't be driving my MB6 anymore so I'd rather break it. B18C4 covered around 124k. Was rebuilt 700 miles ago costing me £600. Runs mint. No smoke. Oil changed 200 miles ago. Only tested VTEC in these last 200 miles and it pulls well. Oil is still golden and same level as it was 200 miles ago. Previously it was using too much oil, around 4litres per 1000 miles. I can't really say whether it still uses oil or not as I've only driven it on VTEC in the last 200 miles. In the first 500 miles after rebuild, I drove it steady under 3k revs. The rebuild was carried out by a private independent mechanic. I'm not exactly sure what it consisted of as I got a friend to take the car to him and do it since he is private. He stated whole work is worth £1100 mentioning something about Spoon head gasket but I paid £500 plus £60 for timing belt and £35 for new driveshaft. The gearbox is good and doesn't crunch on third like many others. It crunches on reverse however but only if shifted fast. Do it slowly and it doesn't crunch. The engine will however require to be removed by yourself as it is still on the car and I don't have the tools or knowledge to do it myself. The car still starts so engine can be heard running. I'm looking for £850 for full conversion which I feel is fair price considering I've just spent nearly £600 on it and it now runs better than ever. As said, POSSIBLY not DEFINATELY so I'm in two minds if I want to sell the engine. If it doesn't go for £850 then I'll save it for my next build. Posted here instead of Facebook so fellow M owners may show genuine interest. Had too many time wasters on Facebook.

  17. When I first signed up here I mentioned I'd have an MB6 in a few months. It has now been a few months. It's a completely standard (for now!) Sicilian Red VTi with 90k on the clock. We've had it in the family for 8 years and I actually had the pleasure of learning to drive in it. Probably why I passed first time. I'm picking the car up from my parents' place on Saturday (which is when their insurance ends and mine starts) so for now here's a few pictures I took a while ago. 18. One night i was in north London Edmonton and was given a ride home by a friend. He had a pirate black Aerodeck 1.8 vti,he took me from Edmonton to Islington and needless to say i was bitten by the "HONDA" bug. i couldn't believe the performance of this family estate...................... Next came the fast and furious and that was it,i wanted a MB6,but all my friends had pirate black MB6 so i wanted to get a different colour and after months of looking at MB6s i found a white MB6 in leeds..................(full story when you see me) my first mod was new wheel studs on all 4 wheels, this is the car as standard in 2007 .
  19. right then guys think its about time to start a new project. work officially commences on sunday. going to warm up my swappin the rear suspension, hubs, brakes etc over. got a coupla bits arrive today.. so here the first pics, since i know a thread is useless with no pics right!..
  20. I'll upload pictures later, it's saying my photos are too big.
  21. Just joined the forum a couple of weeks ago when I got into the Honda game, needed a cheap run around with decent mpg so bought my mates MB3. Which is the 1.5 sport vtec-e so only £12 something tax and a healthy mpg figure. I've been over on the new members section but thought I would start a thread here for any updates and of course pictures As it belonged to a friend I wasn't too worried about it but knew it would need a few things, here are a couple pictures from when I went to look at it.
  22. Ok, as most of you know, I've been debating which Honda to sell as I can't keep ip with trying to work on all 3 of them. The deck was always going to stay, so she's safe. So I had to decide between Ruby (Civic VTi MB6) and Lexy (Civic TypeS FN1), which one do I sell. The one which stayed was going to have to become my daily driver. But I couldn't decide, because I loved the thrill of driving Ruby (the fun and the power) but couldnt go back to driving her every day. And I loved the creature comforts, the safety, and the solidness of Lexy............But she just didn't have the fun factor having no power! What to do!!!? After a month of sleepless nights (seriously!), Gayle came up with the perfect solution! Sell em both and buy a TypeR! It made perfect sense, because with that I can have the best of both the MB6 and the TypeS all rolled into one! So, with Lexy traded in, it's time to introduce the new TypeR in my life, Roxy! one thing i was stuck on was what do we call her?? Then again, Gayle came up trumps! She's replacing Ruby and Lexy, so a combination of those two names would be perfect! Ruxy sounded a bit daft, so after more thought.....................Roxy was born! Ok, now the car. Shes a 2008 Honda Civic TypeR GT in Alabaster silver, bought from our Civic5 Official Traders Western Honda @ the Fort, Edinburgh. She's already got the optional 19" polished alloys, which really make her stand out. And although I wouldn't normally go out and buy a silver car (had a few before though), she looked stunning and a bit different to the usual red or black TypeR's. Ideally I wanted white, but silvers as close as I could get so yeah, well, chuffed. She also has the TypeR decal pack from Honda, so has the TypeR grill badge and quarter panel decals. Then the modding started!!! Oooops! Um, think I've broke her! First thing I had to do was install my double din touch screen Pioneer head unit I had in the TypeS. To fir this into these civics is a major task, as you need to dismantle pretty much everything, including the full centre console from front to back, and a lot of the dashboard too. And for some reason, i couldnt get the gear lever gator to let go of the gearstick, so had to cut it But this was always going to be changed for the nice new red Suede one I have coming for it. So, after much caffufle, the head unit along with the Sat Nav unit all fitted and looking pukka! Much nicer! So whats next? Well, first of all I need to get Ruby sold! I'm buys prepping her and detailing her ready for sale. Got a new front bumper sitting waiting to go on as her original one has scuffs on it from before I bought her, and thinking about just taking her MeisterR suspension off (the Deck has been eyeing these up!) and selling her for £1300 with standard suspension back on. Oh and meant to add, Roxy is going back into Western Honda for brand new rear brakes as they were an advisory on the MOT, and also to have her alloys fully refurbished. Steve at western agreed to have all this done as part of the deal, so alls good! Should be going in soon Future plans for Roxy are: Wind deflectors Red Suede gear gator Some wee minor imperfections on the bodywork fixed (stone chips etc) Tinted windows Possible induction kit for a bit more noise! Stainless steel Powerflow exhaust when the time comes to replace the standard one. Mudflaps (possibly)
  23. A company I used to work in partnership with when I wrapped cars (A tuners / motorfactors) is getting refitted and refurbished and so sold off a bunch of stock. I happened to buy some dress-up stock (Fender / Engine bay washer kits, quick release bumper kits, Plate tilters etc etc) to sell on the MSC (Micra club) to discover the bolt kits I bought were about 2-3mm too short for Micras & Marches , long story short I have 5 colours available (right now) of Honda fitment OFFICIAL Password:JDM bolt kits (I can get a picking list and possibly an invoice copy to prove authenticity if wanted!) I have Blue, Green, Purple, Silver and Black available and if there's call for other colours I can pick some up from them this week when I pop up there. They are Anodized Aircraft Aluminium with Stainless steel M6x20 hex bolts. And look something like this on my dirty engine bay.... £8 per pack of 10 INCLUDES POSTAGE INSIDE THE UK
