Hello Guys Just thought i would give you an update on the ol' MB6 Project. Ive been very busy as of recent sourcing panels for the restoration. Im very chuffed to find some Genuine Body panels including the Whole Upper sill and rear outer arch. Alongside that i have also sourced some Rear inner arch Extension panels where the Sills Meet the Wheel Arch. Unfortunately the Lower/Inner Sill section was no where to be found alongside the front outriggers but thats not an issue at all. i will be starting to Fabricate some New Lower/Inner Sill sections as if you don't know already the Civic MA/MB has Three Segments to the lower sill. The First part being the Front Jacking point section which starts at the sill then wraps itself round the front chassis legs and subframe mounts. Then there is the Middle section where the Front seatbelts are Anchored to. This section is Spot welded to the floor pan to create a sandwich effect (lovely rust trap btw). The Panel Itself is an L Shape as it also forms apart of the inner sill as its all one pressing. Thankfully the rust has not spread up into the vertical section of the panel as the rust has only ate away at the lower part probably due to all the water being trapped there. and Finally the Last segment being the Rear Sill Extension assembly which contains the rear jacking points and the Semi Trailing arm bush mounting. With Fabricating these lower segments it is pretty simple Its just a 90 Degree bend with a flange where the outer skin is spot welded to. With Rover at the time having a Partnership with Honda Luckily the 400 and 45 is the same car in terms of bodywork pretty much. Hence why i have bought Rover sills and Rover Inner Arches (they're probably cheaper too) and they will do the same job. Part Numbers if needed ALA120220 for the Side Panel (do note the side panel is a saloon not a hatchback as they are no longer available.) ALX140020 and ALX140030 for the Rear inner arches. The idea will be to chop the sill segment and rear arch segment off the genuine panel and to replace what is the rotten part on my Civic. With this i can maintain the original pressings of the panel such as the grommet holes. Hopefully in the New year i can get round to producing the Inner sill segments to be used.

So the start of this year is going to be taken up trying to address all the little, niggly issues I currently have with my old girl. I'm sure I'll find more as I go but my list for now is 1 - Find someway for reattaching all the loose bits of interior trim/headlining. I have already had a go at some with a spray adhesive but it didn't stay stuck! 2 - Find a way of pulling out and repairing the dents in the rear door/arch, or find someone local to do it for me 3 - Replace sticky front calliper with a shiny new one and give the rest of the system a overhaul with new disks/pads & shoes. 4 - Replace exhaust system, Cat and Lamba sensor as she only scraped through her emission test last MOT. I'm hoping to fund this by selling my Factory original CAT that's currently on her, but I've been having problems getting a price for it as it doesn't have any codes on it. 5 - Find out why my drivers window sometimes works fine and sometimes needs pushing to get it to go down. 6 - Look into why my rear bumper is slightly warped on one side and giving me panel gaps that really annoy me. My wife thinks I'm mad and being too fussy but I cant unsee it lol That lot should keep me going for a while so I look forward to keeping y'all upto speed as I crack on with it. Peace ✌️ Joe

Hi all. Been having a look on the net and here but no luck. Below are some pics of rust under the chassis of my aerodeck. Looks like its where the inner wing panel joins the floor. There's the factory seam sealer which has started coming away as well. Quite a lot of flaking metal which to me doesn't seem good... I'm hoping it can be cut out and plated without top much hassle. I did wonder about cutting the same section out of a good body and having that welded in place... pics below are the drivers side, passenger is similar. Any suggestions? Strange thing is its not been noted on previous mot tests.

Started with a little experiments a few months ago, just something to keep me busy in between jobs etc. Started out with an extra stock lid that goes on top of the trunk. Added a piece of plastic to lengthen it, melted it to shape and filled it with expanding foam This was still super experimental, started to cut the foam to shape but to start over since I wasnt satisfied with the basic shape. Also the third brake light position wasnt much to my liking. So back to the drawing board! Felt it was too short to, so I extended it using a Citroen C3 rear wing thingy. This was long enough, so I was off to shaping and smoothing filled everything up, fill, sand, repeat. sprayed some primer on it, more sanding. Tried to use lines to get it as closely symmetrical as I could. Now I needed to fill in the underside too, I've kept the third brake light in its original location. Used foam and glassfibre to create a strong base. Again, loads of sanding and filling to get everything nice and smooth. Almost there! Have to figure out a way to shape the surrounding filler to fit the third brakelight nicely.

Does the body kit fitted in these photos appear to be genuine or aftermarket? This is not my car, just photos seen online.

Has anyone here bought new aftermarket front fenders for their MB6? Or just got used ones from scrap yard etc. ? I was wondering if the aftermarket ones fits directly or if there are any seam gaps, if the headlight and bonnet fit to it properly etc. Things that can go wrong. Diederichs makes them but couldn't find those. I got myself Polcar ones. https://catalog.polcar.com/#!KatKatalogGlowny/fender-front-381102/492184 Should i try fitting them first before getting them painted at a shop? I was thinking of putting them on later in spring. But could get them painted already. Any bodypanel/exterior info would be welcome in this forum. Considering aftermarket parts especially.

Hi new to the forum, picked up this mb6 totally standard apart from coilover a month ago and since then I've added an omp wheel and quick release, new carpets, added an aem induction kit, aluminium rad and red coolant hoses, decat, custom spark plug cover, bonnet raisers and few wee tidy up bits, I've owned a few hondas before this, had am ej6 civic coupe with a b18c4 conversion and also owned an accord type r, but its quite a clean mb6 so don't want to do to much to it or anything done it can be put back, but interested in probably one of the most asked questions of making the custom projector headlights? And looking a nice set of alloys, recommendations? Thanks

As titled, not that I like them nor like the look of them but do they make them for mbs? As I have just had my car resprayed and have got a few long trips coming up this year and don't fancy a stone chipped bonnet agen lol

Will they stuck out from fenders/arches? They are already rolled and pulled by previous owner. I don't wan't any camber adjustments. Bad for tires, wallet and winter conditions. Previous owner had Japan Racing JR3 wheels with et 20-22 in the back (17x9). Sure they stuck out lil bit but it was okay with stretched tires. I'm looking at these: http://www.nlmotoring.com/Avid-1-AV-12-Wheels-16x8-Gold-p/av121680ma25gd.htm 16x8 Offset [+25mm] (I would pick 15's but can't find those locally with 114 and et25 fitment). I wonder if such "deep dish" wheels fit MB6 without camber adjustments? I mean ET 25 should be manageable if those JR3's fitted, right? But does wheel design affect how much it actually comes outwards? I've seen some EK and EG Civics with those wheels and they struggle i guess. Looks good on those but MB6 have stock ET of 55 vs. other Civics 40-45. Fenders and arches are pulled out as much as they can i'd say. Does anyone here have experience on fitting similar style wheels on MB6 without camber adjustments? Does pulled fenders and mild stretched tires solve it? Another problem i fear is caliper clearance in the front... Bigger calipers than stock Civics. If it needs spacers bigger than 3mm. i think it's a "no go" then. Assuming they would fit, what tire profile would be the best? I have now stock 15's and lowered car pretty much in the same level as wheels (stanced/slammed some would possibly say ).

I have a bit of rust on arches, could someone give me an idea of cost involved in getting rid of it in a way where it looks like it was never there? also, is this the kind of thing a local garage would do or would I need a bodywork specialist or what? cheers

Morning all, I've been in touch with the suppliers of these fiberglass body parts to ask about some wings. They don't do them for ms, but I asked how many they would need to make it worth while. He said for a special order they'd be wanting 7-10 pairs @ £190 per pair, plus delivery. This is their ebay listing for egs... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/231970494058 Would anyone be interested?

I had my car resprayed in December and the paint is peeling on the boot lid around the rear window rubber, the sprayer said it's because I never removed the rubber! My question is can you even take it off? I never did so because I couldent see how it comes off or if it even does? Cheers

Hey ho. As some people might already know i ran over a badger. So now I need to replace my front bumper, but where can i find one? It shouldhave a "Materialgutachten" (a certificate which we need here in Germany to be able to put bodykits on our cars). I'm searching for weeks but I can't find anything, only lips or stuff for show-cars. Thanks!

As my daily mileage has increased to around 16 miles I thought instead of adding mileage on the Aerodeck I will get another daily. Maximum budget was £400. Found this little beauty. Nissan Micra R reg K11 1.0 Litre. Its got 81K mileage with part service history. Same owner since 2001 who seem to have looked after it very well. Ideally I was looking for a Red micra but settled on this as it was too good to miss on the price I got it for . Here are some pics. I will take some more later Hope you guys like it
