  1. I wasn't aware the alternator was a serviceable part? Usually if something fails in it it's a lot easier to just change the complete unit. Anyone else know if you can service the bearings in them?
  2. Sounds very strange! Are you only hearing this knock at low speeds? Usually the way to find out if a CV join is failing is to take the car into a car park, and turn the steering onto full lock. Then start to pull away, but keep it on full lock. Do this with the steering on full lock in both directions. Is there any "clicking" or clonking?
  3. Serious amount of work gone into that. Some really nice mods mate.

@UnicyclingTom I've posted in the team room about this mate.

Not sure mate, will have a look when I get home.
  6. Yeah, you wouldn't be able to go fully into reverse mate whilst the cars traveling forward at speed. There were some really old cars you could do that in though.....with disastrous results!
  7. Not sure mate, might try and find it in a Rover Haynes manual though or on the MG forums. I've got these switches too, mega rare to find these! Still thinking about getting the heated elements fitted to DD, although she's never out during winter so probably just a mod for the future.
  8. hehehe, great init! Was that posted from your mobile Simon? Try adding them to the Video app too, see how you get on. Where was that last video shot?
  9. Oooooh! Petrol leaks are a worry eh! Sounds like some nice mods coming up though.
  10. That looks like a bargain! Mega clean looking wee MB! I'd say go for it, see if you can get a test drive first. Like you say, even just for parts its good! The wheels, interior, engine and VTiS body kit could probably fetch that!

D.I.Y. guide How to reset your ECU. Good for if you have fitted any aftermarket engine parts, this helps the ecu "learn" new parameters.
  12. Possibly very slight damage but nothing that's going to cause any concern long term. I did this a few times myself jumping from my 6 speed civic to my 5 speed civic. It should be fine mate unless you've noticed anything happening since?

    Brake problem

Could be the master cylinder itself that's leaking mate. But do check the whole braking system, as it's in a bit of a dangerous state if it's losing fluid.

Heater not working on speeds 2 and 4? Or 1 and 3? The resistor pack will be faulty. Here's our step by step guide to replacing your heater resistor pack.
